When you see some of the stuff now regularly been given as penalties, that first half handball miss was criminal.
By Moss and VAR.

Re: No Help from Moss
Does anyone know who he supports? With him being head teacher (not sure if he still is) at Ferney Lee Junior School in Todmorden I assume it’s a local team but I may be way off.
Not to start a conspiracy theory or anything but after his performance at Old Trafford the other year I always fear him.

He and Mason are useless wastes of space. But Moss is also biased to the big teams at home (I won't get fined by the FA for saying that will I?)

Re: No Help from Moss
One thing I noticed with moss is how unfit he looks.
I don’t understand why there isn’t an academy for refs. Producing and fast tracking younger, fitter refs.
I genuinely don’t know how these refs can keep up with the pace of the game. Or how they’re even expected to.

Could have disallowed the first for a Brownhill foul. Dont get me wrong I dont for a second think it was a foul but they'd be a few on here wanting a foul and moaning at Moss for not giving it had it been the other was round

Re: No Help from Moss
Totally agree here. Davies melted under basically no pressure like the proverbial confectionery fire guard and tried to buy a foul as he'd mis contolled the ball. So often given as fouls and just for a change it wasn't, so fair play to Moss on that one. No complaints from Everton btw as the goal was scored, so they knew.Devils_Advocate wrote: ↑Sat Mar 13, 2021 7:59 pmCould have disallowed the first for a Brownhill foul. Wasn’t there a similar incident where Westwood was robbed and the opposition scored?
I was screaming for a foul then and I would have been tonight had it been the other way round.
Don’t think Moss got much wrong tonight and we can’t grumble about the handball given the decision last week.

Didn't see the match, but according to the stats he only penalised us on 6 occasions in 94 minutes, and awarded us 9 freekicks, so it doesn't sound like he was particularly harsh on us.

I'm sure the one you're talking about with Westwood was the Everton home game bizarrely.Foulthrow wrote: ↑Sat Mar 13, 2021 8:03 pmCouldn’t agree more.

Yes, I do THINK so (others may correct me) and it was when Calvert-Lewin equalised for them right on the stroke of half time

Always had a bee in my bonnet about premier league Refs being overweight, they’re payed decent wages, it should be a given they’re in good shapecricketfieldclarets wrote: ↑Sat Mar 13, 2021 7:58 pmOne thing I noticed with moss is how unfit he looks.

Re: No Help from Moss
It was Jack Cork who dropped too easily at home for their goal. Although he was actually fouled, unlike “I’ve been taken out by a sniper Davies”

My biggest gripe was that he booked one of our players for an identical tackle received by Brownhill and didn't bother booking the Everton player, just gave us a free kick.

Don’t really have any issues with his performance tonight. I wouldn’t expect him to be certain enough to give the handball - so my gripe is with the VAR who failed to give a completely routine penalty decision.

Re: No Help from Moss
In the second half the ball went out for a Burnley goal kick but Everton were screaming for a corner. Ben Godfery looked across at the Assistant Referee and mouthed CHEAT at least 3 times, the second 2 obviously because he was being looked at directly.
In the West Brom game Bartley shouted 'You F***ING Wa**er' at the Referee after being bundled out by Benteke.
Why didn't the Asst take any action?
Why are Officials happy to be dominated by players offering Verbal Abuse?
It can only be either because as a collective they are spineless, or have someone dictating to them to take no action.

The refs get no respect. It’s almost criminal at times. Especially from the same players taking a knee.
But in part I imagine it’s in line with my comments above the refs aren’t fit and will command no respect from these fuelled up spoilt footballers

Re: No Help from Moss
Looks like I’m in the minority but I did not think it was a penalty. Completely accidental. Unable to get his arm out of the way because of Mee's body being in the way.
Moss did ok today. I don’t adhere to the ridiculous referee conspiracy b*ll*cks that some talk about.

VAR was the problem, not Moss. Personally I was more upset by the Godfrey handball, stopping a goal bound shot, than Holgate’s handball but both were penalties.

Like Rileybobs, I thought he had a good game.
He got both pens wrong, but they were hard to pick in real time. VAR was the villain again, it makes you wonder what these refs in the studio are doing, when they are supposed to be watching the game .
