Kane Penalty
Kane Penalty
wins penalty by moving deliberately into defenders line and taking a hit. That is just the lowest form of cheating.

Re: Kane Penalty
He moved into the defenders line to let the ball run for a corner kick, the defender recklessly sliding for no reason won the penalty for Spurs.

Re: Kane Penalty
Villa weren't kicking up a fuss at the decision, mind you they aren't exactly immune to "winning" penalties are they.
A bigger worry for Villa must be without Grealish their form has nosedived, now I'm not saying they're a one man team, but it can't be a coincidence they've struggled in his absence, as they did for long spells last season also when he was out.

Re: Kane Penalty
Me, I thought it was a nonsense of a penalty. Baffling decision, the ball was already out of play, and Kane wasn’t even attempting to play it.

Never a penalty in a million years. Will be interesting to hear what Moanrinho thinks after he went off on one last week after the Arsenal game.

Does similar every other week somewhere on the pitch, it is even highlighted on a very good piece doing the rounds on both major social media providers and talked about on the institution of MOTD... I used to really really like him, but when I first started to notice it and then saw that it was a regular thing...ABSOLUTELY it is cheating, cowardly and disgusting. I now dispose him for it, but others call it “winning”. Typical of why football has become so corrupted it is barely recognised as sport anymore... it’s just business with a ball... that WE pay to watch, on a similar principle you pay at the theatre, VAR the evil overlord and referees as pantomime dames.
Until football get serious about being an honest game, and terms like “winning” decisions called out for what they are it is simply not credible that any part of the football tree is honest, from the very top down...

He is sliding to stop the potential cross, he is far enough away from Kane and the ball to do this, Kane moves towards the defender and falls over.

So basically, if your between the ball and the defender sliding, leave the ball to go out of play and go to the defender instead?

Kane may have been looking for it, but if you take a player out in the box it’s a clear cut pen.

Every player, both forwards and defenders, gets their body between the ball and the opponent, to shepherd it out. What’s the defender doing sliding in when he is so far from the ball?

Re: Kane Penalty
He leaves the ball and his moves towards Cash with his outside foot - it should be a foul on Cash
Look at your first image, he is sliding to stop the expected cross, there absolutely no intent to even take Kane

Kane doesn’t move, he just waits to get clattered by Cash, which he’s entitled to do. There’s no rules saying you have to avoid players lunging in with reckless tackles.

So how does he stop the cross if he’s not ‘flying through the air’
Kane makes no attempt to play the ball, he steps over it and moves his weight towards Cash.

There's no cross to stop. Kane dummys it to let it go for a corner and Cash catches Kane. Kane is under no obligation to play the ball just cos Cash thinks he's gonna cross it.

Ruining the game is this kind of cheating, ensuring there is contact with no intention of playing the ball.

I can’t see why it matters if he was attempting to block the cross or not? He clatters him so it’s a pen.claptrappers_union wrote: ↑Sun Mar 21, 2021 10:01 pmSo how does he stop the cross if he’s not ‘flying through the air’
Kane makes no attempt to play the ball, he steps over it and moves his weight towards Cash.
It’s a bit like saying ‘he was trying to make a tackle’ or ‘he was trying to win the ball’ when a player turns someone in the penalty area and gets fouled. If you make a challenge and take the player not the ball, it’s a pen.
Pope won the ball vs Leeds and it was still a pen!!
Re: Kane Penalty
I’m only basing my view on the link above..... I’d say penalty.
Kane was fortunate, he’d ballsed it up and in doing so, put himself in a position to be caught by the challenge. Cash was expecting to be blocking a cross, I think.
Kane not only made a meal of it, he went for the amuse-bouche, cheese course and an aged brandy to conclude, typically.
Harsh on the defender, further evidence that Kane is a dick, but a penalty.

Penalty VAR conversation (allegedly)
RJ : "Mike, he grabbed his knee although any contact however minimal was below the ankle"
RJ: "He dummied the ball for a goal kick and had absolutely no chance of crossing it into the area for a scoring opportunity"
MD: "OK thanks Rob, no clear or obvious error in my decision then"

Re: Kane Penalty
Reckless from the defender but if there’s any karma then Harry Kane will suffer a ‘bad one’ sometime soon.
Re: Kane Penalty
The defender slid, the forward touched him and fell over - how can there be any doubt that that is a penalty in the modern game? (Unless Burnley are involved) referees are encouraged to give as many penalties as possible.
I suspect it's to keep the number of goals up to make up for the ones unnecessarily disallowed for an inch offside.

Good play from Kane to win the penalty its part of the modern game. Cash should not have thrown himself in and gone to ground, as Gary Neville said it was cute play
When you see Kane win penalties like this you see why he scores all those goals, because he is clever and tuned in

Not seen the incident so not going to comment on it, but one of my biggest “gripes” are free kicks being awarded for “obstruction” when a player clearly runs into another without even trying to go around them.
