Fulham v Wolves
I would be delightfully surprised if Wolves managed to avoid defeat tonight.

Re: Fulham v Wolves
I can’t decide if I want Wolves to win (obvious choice to keep Fulham down) or for Fulham to win (keeps Wolves within reach and doesn’t really make Fulham’s chances much better). Thoughts please. Probably a draw would suit.

Tight game with Wolves coming out 28-0 winners, feel free to throw in a few Fulham injuries too.
Although a Fulham win would make entertaining reading considering the flapping done on here when they went 1-0 up at Villa

Wolves will beat Fulham and we will stretch our lead over Fulham to 10 points come Sunday evening
Re: Fulham v Wolves
I really want Newcastle to get relegated and never re-appear. I just cannot do with the self entitled whinging geordies. They have hounded out virtually every manager. They even had the cheek to put up a statue to one that was previously hounded out. They are so deluded, they lionise epic failure. So it’s a Fulham win for me

With us still on 33 points, it would be crazy to hope for a Fulham win, but I expect them to do so against a strangely out of sorts Wolves side.

Re: Fulham v Wolves
Draw would be best, but it's still worth bearing in mind whatever Fulham do or don't do, our fate is very much in our own hands, and as long as we gain the points we should in these final 8 games then we should have no relegation fears.
I also fancy Fulham to win tonight, but it's fast becoming essential for them to win, and that can create it's own pressures, plus the way they imploded at Villa doesn't suggest a team that has the mentality for a relegation scrap.
If I was a Fulham fan then the 3 home games against Wolves, Burnley & Newcastle are where I'd expect to pick up the points required for survival, however if they don't win tonight their task becomes all the harder due to the dearth of games remaining.

I cannot understand why anyone would want a Fulham win. If we lose on Sunday, the pressure on us would be immense. I know some of you want Newcastle relegated, but our safety is paramount

Re: Fulham v Wolves
Any Burnley fan wishing for a Fulham win, is either a masochist or incredibly confident, speaking for myself I'd rather enjoy a calmer end to the season.
I don't think we will lose on Sunday, however it's a possibility therefore Fulham dropping points tonight allows us some extra breathing space should it be required, think of it as an insurance policy if you will, you hope never to need it, but it's there just in case you do.
Fulham losing tonight, and a Burnley victory on Sunday, will pretty much assure our PL status for at least another season, so let's get that objective met first, and then we can concern ourselves over how high we can finish, and also who goes down.

If Fulham don't win, they will be under massive pressure with the away games at Arsenal and Chelsea coming up.
Looks like Lookman was back in training after his hamstring strain so should play.

Re: Fulham v Wolves
I've always reckoned that a point per game advantage is enough to almost guarantee you will not be caught. Should Fulham lose tonight or we win on Sunday then we will be at that point - 7 clear with 7 to play.
(Even better if both of those parameters happen, of course)

Re: Fulham v Wolves
If Fulham win today then it makes our game v Newcastle a must win. Expect Fulham to win but praying they do t. Wolves are poor right now
Re: Fulham v Wolves
We are already at the stage of 7 clear with 7 to play as Fulham have played a game more.bfcmik wrote: ↑Fri Apr 09, 2021 6:18 pmI've always reckoned that a point per game advantage is enough to almost guarantee you will not be caught. Re: Fulham v Wolves
3 points for Fulham tonight would certainly heighten the tension on Sunday for both teams, so let's hope Wolves 2nd half fightback against West Ham has boosted their fragile confidence, although not essential a Wolves win tonight would be most welcome, and it would certainly release some of the pressure cooker atmosphere around the Newcastle game.
Re: Fulham v Wolves
Even though Wolves are only 2 points above us and we could end up finishing above them
I still would be happier if they beat Fulham albeit a draw might not be too bad.
A Fulham win would make out game against Newcastle even more crucial.
But as long as we match or better whatever either Newcastle, Fulham and Brighton manage
over the last 7/8 games then I'll be more than happy.
But ideally would wish to see us 10 points ahead of Fulham and
7 more than Newcastle after Sunday.
I think we could all relax a bit if that was the case.

A Wolves win.
We need to get over the finish line ourselves, first.

Re: Fulham v Wolves
Fulham to play some nice stuff and have a lot of possession and pressure but to ultimately let a couple of soft ones in. 1-2.
A draw would be decent for us though. Fulham would still be 6 points behind us with only 6 games left (7 or 9 behind if we have a draw/win on Sunday). Fulham have Arsenal, Chelsea and Man U away games to come (Saints away too); us and Newcastle at home.
A point for Wolves would leave them catchable.

Draw would be the ideal outcome for us, and we still have to visit Wolves, so we'd still have every chance of finishing above them.LeadBelly wrote: ↑Fri Apr 09, 2021 8:04 pmFulham to play some nice stuff and have a lot of possession and pressure but to ultimately let a couple of soft ones in. 1-2.

However the most important thing is that Fulham don't bag all 3 points tonight, as a victory could provide them with plenty of encouragement, and don't forget we still have to travel to Fulham, so the larger we can keep the gap the better just to be on the safe side.

I'd ike to think that if this was us in Fulham's position we'd have had more than 0 shots in the first 15 minutes. This pitty-patty across the back four is no good to 'em !
0-0 draw written all over it
