Today's footie 10/4
Man City-Leeds is the lunchtime offering, should provide plenty of goals you'd imagine.
In the lower leagues Joey's Bristol Rovers have a massive trip to relegation rivals Northampton .
Duffer's Cheltenham can take another step to promotion with victory over Leyton Orient.
And of course Norwich can finally clinch their return to the PL this weekend, but results will need to go their way.

Re: Today's footie 10/4
Leeds 1-0 up at the break, but down to 10 after a straight red for Cooper, given by VAR after a yellow initially,
Swansea 1-0 to the good at Millwall, a win will keep their slim automatic promotion hopes alive.

Fully expect City to put 3 or 4 past Leeds in the 2nd half

Yes if there's one team you don't want to go down to 10 against it's probably City.Top Claret wrote: ↑Sat Apr 10, 2021 1:40 pmFully expect City to put 3 or 4 past Leeds in the 2nd half

If Leeds hang on to beat City with 10 men, we'll never hear the last of it. The press will have a field day :

Re: Today's footie 10/4
Just a shame we capitulate every time we play them.
Re: Today's footie 10/4
Fair play to Leeds today. Really dug in when in theory they don't have much to play for now.

I'm so torn - quite happy that Leeds did the job on City as they deserve it sometimes... but its bloody Leeds for god sake... WHY THEM...!!!
We'll never hear the last of that - Leeds (the mighty Leeds MoT) for the next 25 years will always reference how great they are for beating City with 10 men... in the season City do the quadruple... (if that happens...) you can hear them now... droning on with their bloody Yarkshire accents...
I need to lie down now...

Re: Today's footie 10/4
Just heard Jeff Stelling going on about Leeds' magnificent performance at Liverpool, where they lost! And then saying it was better than the likes of Burnley and others winning there because Liverpool were in a slump when that happened. Better get used to the Leeds and Bielsa love in going on and on!!

Re: Today's footie 10/4
Big win for Leeds, but it won't stop City strolling to the title.
Swansea finally got back to winning ways in the Champ, but it's too little too late for their automatic bid, they'll have to settle for a play-off place.

It's **** like this that makes me think I wouldn't miss Dyche one bit.
We'd have lost our usual 5-0 without even trying, that's the level of negativity he brings to the club. Leeds are no better than us.

Re: Today's footie 10/4
He certainly did say it. Alan McInally tried to argue the point saying how could a defeat be better than winning, but Stelling was having none of it. He was absolutely gushing over Leeds.
Not trying to diminish what was a magnificent performance from them today, but the way the media goes over the top about them is sickening.
Re: Today's footie 10/4
De Bruyne signs a new deal and then has to sit in the stand and watch some awful play from City - what a waste of space Sterling was today (and add Jesus and Mendy to that list)
Good to watch Leeds show a different side of their game today. Excellent defending and still willing to break with speed whenever they get a chance
Looking forward to the game against Leeds in May

It was Kris Boyd. A very similar Scottish striker. You are quite right about Jeff. He’d lick Bielsa’s bumholePaulclaret wrote: ↑Sat Apr 10, 2021 3:03 pmHe certainly did say it. Re: Today's footie 10/4
Well you'll be happy in the summer if he goes to Palace then, of course if he does it greatly increases our risk of playing Championship footy in 22/23.tarkys_ears wrote: ↑Sat Apr 10, 2021 3:03 pmIt's **** like this that makes me think I wouldn't miss Dyche one bit.

Leeds have done well this season, but let's just wait and see how they fare next term when teams have maybe sussed them out, look at Sheff Utd for comparison fantastic last season, can't win a game to save their lives this season.
And to put Leeds success into perspective they've had a net spend of over £100m, so it's not like Bielsa has worked miracles on peanuts is it.

As everyone on this site knows we spent a pittance last summer, so it's hardly surprising Leeds are above us in the table with that difference in financial backing is it.

Re: Today's footie 10/4
Bristol Rovers ahead at Northampton, could be a priceless goal for them and Joey.
Accy 1-1 Phillips on the bench again, he's not getting as much action there as we might have hoped.

ALSO, PNE getting beat 0-2 at home. It must be wonderful to be superior.
Re: Today's footie 10/4
I’ll have a £100 bet with you that Leeds are nearer to the European places than relegation places, come the end of next season.tiger76 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 10, 2021 3:22 pmWell you'll be happy in the summer if he goes to Palace then, of course if he does it greatly increases our risk of playing Championship footy in 22/23.

It’d be £100 worth losing if I am wrong.

Re: Today's footie 10/4
I don't gamble it's a mugs game, but as well as Leeds are doing it has to out into context given their spending, a lot depends on whether they keep hold of Bielsa he seems to be the heartbeat of the club, and although he's spent, he has also improved their youngsters, and many of their squad from average Championship players, to a squad that can compete at this level, I guess the next question is can he make the next leap and really challenge the top 6/8 teams, Wolves threatened that a couple of seasons ago, and look where they are now, many teams have had a good season, and then fallen away badly next time, it's hard to maintain success at this level unless you are one of the big 6, or have a major backer in the case of Leicester for example, and another danger for Leeds is they get raided by the big boys for their prized assets such as Kalvin Phillips for instance. it is refreshing to see a team playing without fear however and showing no respect for the reputations of the bigger clubs, but that result just sums up how bizarre this season has been, and it's been a unique season in many ways. so it'll be interesting whether order is restored next season or not when circumstances should be more normal you'd expect.

Yes still 1-0 Villa, another daft decision if it's the rules that are the problem then time to update the rules.

Juke has bagged for Brum they're 2-0 up and heading towards safety.
Armstrong equalised for Rovers.
Norwich winning they'll be on the verge.
Stanley 1-4 down at home.
Cheltenham leading though and heading back top again.
Barrow with Bobby Thomas starting are leading 2-1 against promotion chasing Carlisle.
