That pub is on St. James' Street in Burnley - the Wetherspoons - but there were queues outside pubs all over last night waiting for them opening at midnight.

I have got out of the habit, I will only feel safe when everyone has had a jab at the very least. Well done though to all those publicans who have managed to stay in business hope you thrive.

There are lots of people in other countries who have struggled to re-intregate into society after all this. Maybe best to talk to someone about it until you get the confidence levels back up.

Fair do’s.... I normally hate spoons, even if there’s only five people at the bar somehow I manage to be the 15th to be served two hours later...

However, last year went to Edinburgh and sat in spoons being served by the waitress after ordering in the app.... extremely efficient. More so than had I been able to queue at the bar.

I’m off today and I’m gonna try for a pint later. Won’t be the spoons tho...

I have to go to Manchester and Leeds this week, so I might have a lunchtime pint and a bite to eat, if there's none of this queuing malarkey.

Got out of the habit now and not so bothered to go just yet. Not while only half the population have had a jab and thousands of new cases everyday. Social distancing has gone out of the window for most in shops and not going to happen at a pub.

Nothing to do with confidence it's about minimising my risk to exposure, when I've had my second jab and when we know more about the variants reaction to vaccines and treatments I will make an informed judgement then.

I find it rather sad that people feel they can’t go to a pub until folk have had jabs and no cases etc.

Not being critical just saddens me that a virus that didn’t exist 18 months ago could impact so much on people’s lives and put them in a position where they may never realistically feel safe enough to venture out again.

Not really missed the pubs, cafés or restaurants being closed.
Much prefer the wifes cooking than the expensive muck they dish out and would not think of buying a cup of coffee anymore.
Will visit a pub at some point this week but I am determined not to get back to my old habits of going out just for the sake of it

Unless they make it mandatory and start forcefully applying the vaccine then not everyone will have had the jab.

I couldn’t give two shits about people having the jab but the pub should be a place to relax and I won’t be able to do that knowing I’ve got to comply with social distancing, not being able to freely move about and having to wear a mask. So I am going to wait. That said good luck to the pubs.

I didn't think it required spelling out, but here goes. The current projection is that every adult will have been offered a vaccine by mid-August at the latest. Also, we will be approaching something close to herd-immunity for the B.1.1.7 variant if over 70% of the population take up the offer.

It's not just pubs I have just nipped into town and it's packed ques for hairdressers McDonald's and certain shops but the one I couldn't believe a massive ques for the sunbed shop. But I have to say in all honesty there seemed to be a happy atmosphere of just being in town people just strolling about and chatting.Lets Hope we are on the small steps back to normality. For the record I wasn't going to go in a pub while at least June but a friend who lives over Manchester got in touch and wants a pint with me over the weekend not seeing him for over 12 months I can't wait for a catch up

I didn't think it required spelling out but here goes. The initial comment said he wasn't going to the pub until everyone had had the jab.

There was then a response ( I assume in jest) stating that they would be waiting a long time for that to happen.

You responded to that comment saying July / August.

I was merely making a joke to imply that you may have misunderstood the initial comment to which you replied. Hope that clears things up for you? 😁

I've not had a drink since October bar a small glass of wine with my Christmas Dinner. Even though I've had both jabs I won't be rushing anytime soon.

Maybe when we can actually go and sit inside before a match on't Turf.

I may go for a pint after my 2nd jab ( on 22nd).
But I've not missed the pub at all.
I've spent a fraction of my beer money over the past year by having a bottled real ale a night, just the one at £1.50.

Wait while a few have had their 3 pints of carling on Sunday ahead of Man Utd away, could be some internet gold shortly after full time at Old Trafford.

Had a very pleasant 3 hours yesterday afternoon.

Drive over to Foulridge, park up at Cafe Cargo, very pleasant stroll down the canal towpath towards
Salterforth, a stop off in the sunshine at The Anchor for bite to eat and a couple of pints of Timothy Taylor's Landlord.
A return stroll to Cafe Cargo for a brew and toilet stop and then home in time to paint the garden gate.

Top drawer afternoon.

My mate was driving before anyone asks. :o :)

Pre Lockdown it was good Hendrickxz (well we think so) perhaps not "Gourmet Nouvelle Quisine" just good old fashioned Pub grub ... so cannot imagine it will have changed too much 🤭
