Thought Southampton defender's back leg played him on. Southampton seem to be getting some luck with VAR.

I've given up to VAR and offside decisions, strong start by WB though, and they should be ahead.Conroysleftfoot wrote: ↑Mon Apr 12, 2021 6:11 pmThought Southampton defender's back leg played him on. Southampton seem to be getting some luck with VAR.

Southampton seem to have started like they did against us.
Re: West Brom-Saints Brighton-Everton
Yet another VAR balls up! Measured the line against the player that didn’t have a strike and wasn’t obstructing the view of the keeper...Conroysleftfoot wrote: ↑Mon Apr 12, 2021 6:11 pmThought Southampton defender's back leg played him on. Southampton seem to be getting some luck with VAR.
Blaming the positioning of the camera for not being able to draw a line!
Absolute shambles!

Which team looks like they are going to be relegated? Looks like the team in red.

Just dawned on me that it is Cup Semis over the coming weekend. I think the Southampton players have their minds on that.

Re: West Brom-Saints Brighton-Everton
Coms on now delivering a message from the Powers of Var.
Technical difficulty with the lines going 'through' players......
They've buggered it up again but can't quite get to admit it.
Nothing wrong with that West Brom goal. Lots wrong with Var officials though. They're a joke.
The scorer was quite clearly onside.

1-0 west Brom. Running Saints ragged.
Re: West Brom-Saints Brighton-Everton
I’m sure that’s not the first time I’ve seen an obvious VAR error blamed on the technology rather than admit a mistake.Buxtonclaret wrote: ↑Mon Apr 12, 2021 6:28 pmComs on now delivering a message from the Powers of Var.

What the hell is Ings doing with that pass? Why didn't he do that last week.
Re: West Brom-Saints Brighton-Everton
2-0 now. Wonder if Saints will win 3-2 ? Ings invisible so far

Re: West Brom-Saints Brighton-Everton
Let’s see if Saints can pull this back. Can’t see WBA allowing them tbh...
Re: West Brom-Saints Brighton-Everton
I cant understand that either. WBA have got a bit of momentum and if we are not careful we could be staring down the barrel. Like everyone one else I was purely concerned with Fulham but West Brom will only be two points behind and a game in hand.
A win against Leicester and we could be in big trouble.

Take Southampton's result against us out and their form is woeful. An FA Cup exit could easily see the end for their manager.

Re: West Brom-Saints Brighton-Everton
Blimey! you lot don't half panic, and if West Brom do catch us, still a very long shot, then we'll only have ourselves to blame for not picking up the points we should have done particularly in the past 2 games, that's what's created undue pressure when we should have been home and dry already.

Re: West Brom-Saints Brighton-Everton
We need a WBA defeat at present they are 12 points behind us 4 wins and a draw and they pass us .That's assuming we get nothing in our next 5 games
Personally I think we will get 6 points from next 3 and that will keep.us up

WBA are effectively 10 points behind us if they win tonight. Do people seriously think they’re going to make up that gap with 7 games remaining?

Anyone think WBA were gonna win this before it kicked off?
So that means they are three points better off than they were when you said “no”.

Possibly but both Leicester and Southampton are heading into that Wembley clash hopelessly out of form, so heaven only knows how it's going to go on present form.Conroysleftfoot wrote: ↑Mon Apr 12, 2021 6:24 pmJust dawned on me that it is Cup Semis over the coming weekend. Re: West Brom-Saints Brighton-Everton
If Leicester win the semi-final just hope they aren't thinking about the final itself when they play West Brom at home a week on Thursday.

Re: West Brom-Saints Brighton-Everton
Absolutely I did.. in fact I would have said it was nailed on. They got their flip flops out after seeing the back of us... they are safe, they beat their main threat from below and saw them lose again yesterday... and they have a Cup game to not get injured for.
The last couple of games have been as typical of Burnley as going to Anfield or Arses and winning... we’ll be fine, but one thing you should never expect is Burnley not to throw ‘throw one in’ as soon as they are expected to win comfortably... this time it happened twice on the bounce, but same principal applies.

Re: West Brom-Saints Brighton-Everton
I doubt that, they'll need the points to keep their top 4 hopes alive, so BR will have them focussed I'm sure.
The 10 day break might not actually do West Brom much good, they've got some upturn going ATM, and their rhythm will be disrupted by the relatively long lay-off.

I think we still need at least 6 points.
Looking at WBA's fixtures, I can still see BFS them getting them out of trouble

I can't believe we're still in this situation. Last 2 games we should've put this to bed!

Re: West Brom-Saints Brighton-Everton
They can catch us but they won't. Even with those back-to-back wins they're still 9 points adrift with a vastly inferior GD.
They might be improving but time is running out for them, and they'll need to have a heck of a strong finish to even get near the likes of Brighton, Burnley & Newcastle, and equally they'll also need 1 of those teams to completely implode, yes we've lost a couple on the spin, but does anyone seriously believe we won't pick up any more points over the rest of the season.
Let's be honest would you rather be in our position our West Brom's?, I know which camp I'd rather be in.

Re: West Brom-Saints Brighton-Everton
Failing to take maximum points from recent home matches against sides currently below us in the table, Fulham, Brighton, West Brom and Newcastle means that we have created added pressure for ourselves that could (and should) have been avoided. We should not have been giving a helping hand to our fellow strugglers.
Those fellow clarets with wildly optimistic forecasts of Burnley finishing the season with more than 50 points, I am sure had us penned in for taking a maximum 12 points from those 4 home fixtures instead of just a paltry 3.

In Dyche we trust
Well, I think so
I used to be indecisive but now I'm not so sure

But Brighton as so entertaining, so the experts say.
Re: West Brom-Saints Brighton-Everton
Sam Allardyce certainly does the job more or less anywhere he goes. West Brom could probably be mid table had he joined them early season.

Re: West Brom-Saints Brighton-Everton
Yes it does make you wonder what would have happened if they'd got him in a month earlier, thankfully for us and the rest of the teams down there they didn't, and although they are finally stirring it looks to be a revival that's just come too late for them.
I wouldn't completely rule out a great escape for them and BFS quite yet, but I'd only give them a slim chance say 10%, and they are also reliant on other teams slipping up as Sam himself admitted after tonight's victory.

Most impressive was the players he bought in in January - they scoured Europe and all are performing. No massive fortunes spent either
