Re: Season Ticket Question
For some people if you don’t embrace technology & modernise you get left behind, it wouldn’t be just smartphones, smartwatches will have that functionality eventually where you just scan or pair up with a device to gain access, it’ll be a few years off but that’s the way it’s heading.fidelcastro wrote: ↑Wed Apr 14, 2021 4:54 pmI pointed out a few days ago that, like a lot of people, it wouldn't let me renew, but now with all this talk of apps and smartphones, I'm more confused than ever with what to do.
I'm starting to wonder if it's even worth the bother. Incidentally I've been a ST holder since 1990.

Re: Season Ticket Question
Thanks to all who raised this on the thread, especially Leisure.
A friend was pulling out what little of his hair he has left trying to sort it, promoted by Leisure's offer to Clansman, I added him to my account through Family and Friends to renew.
This is an easy fix for those struggling. However somewhere down the line they will have to sort their SSO out.

Just been on the official app ..and not sure if this has been there all the time ..but there is a thing called the ticket wallet and it looks like its to store paperless tickets to show at the turnstiles
Re: Season Ticket Question
Unfortunately I don't think going to watch top level football is going to be simple anytime soon. There's a big risk of it becoming a chore, rather than an enjoyable day out.

To be fair, if they gave a date for completion I'd ask which year.....

I thought the whole point of technology was to make things easier? Was far simpler in the days of going down to the ticket office with your cash or a cheque and getting a season ticket book.
Feel sorry for our elderly fans or those who aren't good with technology, all this must be impossible to understand.

I'm definitely in the not good with technology camp ( I know how to send emails) I don't have a smartphone, don't know how to post pictures on UTC and don't own a printer. Is 61 elderly ? ......I'm feeling old listening to all this . I guess I have a lot to learn.

Re: Season Ticket Question
Just checked myself, and I can see my season ticket there (no barcode though), but I can find no way of adding my kids tickets at all, there’s no way I’ll let them use their own phones for managing a ticket I pay for (under 18 and under 22 tickets)mill hill claret wrote: ↑Wed Apr 14, 2021 7:11 pmJust been on the official app ..and not sure if this has been there all the time ..but there is a thing called the ticket wallet and it looks like its to store paperless tickets to show at the turnstiles

Hi Mr Leisure,
Thanks for your continuing efforts in helping and resolving many fans' problematic issues.
Tell me and others no doubt.
Does it work ?
By this I mean, obtaining these details .....
Membership number - Surname - Postcode
and that RENEWAL actually works ?
I have someone who sits beside me who has NONE of the following:-
a Smart phone
a Computer
a Broadband connection
a Smart tv
a car
BUT attends regularly with a ST fully paid up.
I really would like to help and see the seat beside me occupied next
season.
Re: Season Ticket Question
I've just asked the question as to when the club will be putting out some info on the purpose/use of the wallet?

Hi Harry - Hope that you're keeping well. Yes, it works. Joanne couldn't manage to renew at the weekend, so I added her and Alfie to my Friends and Family and did the renewals for her. If you can't manage to do it for him, text me his details and I'll sort it for him.Doctor_Marina wrote: ↑Wed Apr 14, 2021 8:59 pmHi Mr Leisure,

Re: Season Ticket Question
If I decide to renew my partner's season ticket using my friends and family facility, what is
the situation as regards linking it to her SSO account ? I read it as essential to do this in case
the App/nhs passport has to be intoduced.
Given that gaining access to her account is the whole issue that started this effing charade I won't
really have gained anything.

Re: Season Ticket Question
I still cannot get my head around how the club think it's reasonable to only give me a week to renew my 3 19/20 season tickets and don't want my money now when I'm ready to buy and pay. The only reason i didn't get a 20/21 ticket was because the club stopped me and they now want to make me wait another month, probably charge me more and not give me very much time to navigate the web process for 3 tickets when phase 2 opens. I'll find a way and get sorted but im sure plenty won't bother. Surely someone will see sense and rethink the current arrangements and proposals. Why penalise 19/20 season ticket holders..... we didn't do anything wrong we just waited patiently in the hope we could renew later.

Re: Season Ticket Question
This looks like an excellent idea for those that can use it - very similar to Apple wallet that I’ve used for tickets to things like The Open and The Ashes over the years.
There needs to be an alternative for those without a Smartphone but for me an my son, this is a brilliant way forward and both my and my son’s tickets are in my wallet (presumably the barcode will be added at a later date).

Re: Season Ticket Question
E tickets are the future I'm afraid. Just been to Blackpool Pleasure Beach and they were a requirement to get on rides. Everything was smooth enough but it was a pain to get your phone out every time. There was an option to print the QR code at home which I did for the kids as I didn't want to bring their phones. Can't see any reason why this won't be possible for the club? Fans without smart phones could either print a QR code at home or be sent one by the club.
Regarding the covid passport/NHS app etc my reading of the statement from the club is that this will only be necessary if it's made a requirement by the Government or Premier League for safe opening of grounds? The options could be say 25% capacity without the app and 100% with. I would definitely prefer the 100% option if that's the case. Obviously everyone will have had to have been offered the jab before it is a requirement and there would need to be an option to print something at home or by the club as an alternative to the app for those without a smart phone.

Re: Season Ticket Question
I had the Burnley app installed already. Brought it up, inputted my new logon, season ticket sat in the ticket area. Place for barcode to be added is there. Sorted. But agree, this drive for digitisation accelerated by the pandemic is going to leave many people floundering. Same true on the gas and electric supply thread with smart meters being forced on people for the cheapest tariff. Smart phones becoming a requirement for the easiest path to renew and attend football. I presume we’ll be installing all new turnstiles as well, or will there still need to be someone pressing the peddle after all the technology gives us a green light for entry?

We've managed to download the Burnley App and gone onto the ticket wallet where we can see my season ticket details, any idea how we find the other two family tickets.
Re: Season Ticket Question
Where on the Burnley FC site does it say you’ll need to use a smartphone ? It mentions your team card will be updated but can’t find the FAQ on smartphones.

Thanks Lakedistrict. Read that post - this is in ref to Covid Passports - and seems to be only an if necessary at this point. I also can see that smartphones QR codes and stuff will be the future at BFC and other clubs.

Re: Season Ticket Question
They certainly will, as they are in other industries. I can’t remember the last time I boarded a plane with a paper ticket for example.
What I am sure of is that our club will look after the fans who genuinely don’t have access to a smartphone or printer. It appears that these measures, if implemented, would be temporary in an attempt to minimise contact. I would expect that printed tickets will be available when the circumstances allow.
Digitising tickets will also presumably help to prevent the dodgy practice of using other people’s tickets which has been bragged about on here.
Re: Season Ticket Question
I was pointed in the direction of this thread as i was waiting for a letter or some communication from the club regarding the possible entry requirements to the Turf,to be honest am not that tech savvy and all this has put me right off. I have got out of the habit of going on and i will soon get out of the habit of paying seeing as the DDs have come to the end for the 21/22 season. I hope the suits are reading this thread and have a big waiting list for new season tickets because i can see a perfect storm brewing

We have all renewed but would be interested in exploring this option when it becomes live.

Re: Season Ticket Question
Anyone got the link for the email sent out by the club after renewal, mine came last week but I've inadvertently deleted it.
Re: Season Ticket Question
Response from the SLO - They just need to link themselves via friends and family via the one sso account and they will be able to see it’s done once logged in. But if they’ve renewed for the other person via their account they are linked correctly. Ideally they both have sso enabled accounts of course, so they can manage their own details. If they want to send their Clarets numbers to me I’ll check it looks ok though?Funkydrummer wrote: ↑Wed Apr 14, 2021 9:45 pmIf I decide to renew my partner's season ticket using my friends and family facility, what is

Re: Season Ticket Question
Thanks leisure for all your efforts. I already have the App. I have found the wallet but there are no tickets to be found in there despite having successfully renewed "on account". From the "linked accounts" section it definitely shows that it is linked to my clarets number.
Does anything bloody work down there for crying out loud ? I'm slowly getting to the point of packing it in, getting my money back and going to watch Padiham and/or Stanley. Such is my dismay at the club's lack of ability to runs things properly, accurately and efficiently.
Very much doubt if I'm the only one either.

Re: Season Ticket Question
My issue regarding loading it onto my phone is more logistical, I live 4 miles away from the Turf and despite emptying Amazon of them I still only have 2 miles of telephone cable to connect to my BT point at home, will the club let me plug in ?

Funky- I seem to have the same scenario regarding the wallet and links. I have an email confirming purchase but that info hasn't as yet appeared as a ticket in my wallet. The renewal was done two weeks ago.
