Struggled to see what you meant at first - that’s good trolling though

The five teams that "qualify" to the league each year will be the bottom teams. It's structured so that they get way less money than the permanent members.Down_Rover wrote: ↑Mon Apr 19, 2021 4:47 pmwell the most deluded here are Arsenal and spurs from the UK contingent.
If they are allowed to play in the domestic leagues then City, Chelsea, United, Liverpool will just buy a second team that will win the Premier League. Arsenal and Tottenham wont have the cash so they will fail in the PL and the Super League. The money boys will take away their relegation immunity and they will have to get out of the Championship to have a half decent club
If there are excluded from the domestic leagues they will get kicked out of the Super League for always finishing near last... and then have to plead to join the National League.
lets make it easier and just have United playing Barcelona every week.
These big boys leagues will be the start of Big boys arguments none of the elite 12 will be immune. And their fans will lose interest because there is only one trophy to share amongst themselves
tell them to do one and don't let them back, the variety and unpredictability of domestic leagues will prevail one the couch potatoes get bored

I think they’re seeing this as a messy divorce. They’re sick of the wife, she’s put weight on, her mates are boring and her job isn’t as good as yours so you can’t get a bigger house.
You’ve got an offer on the table from a gorgeous lass a few years younger who has Daddy’s money in her bank account and is somehow infatuated with you (despite you being Arsenal).
You know it’s going to be a messy divorce. The kids will be an issue, so will your mortgage - the in laws are a noisy bunch too, and absolutely no doubt your ‘good’ name will be dragged through the dirt on social media by her mates. You know what you want though, and you’ve come this far - just see it through. The outrage will die down after a few months and then the life you wanted is yours.
I genuinely believe the likes of the Glazers, Abramovich, FSG, Kroenke etc see it as simply as that.
You sound like you've written that from experience!Clarets4me wrote: ↑Mon Apr 19, 2021 6:55 pm.... and five years down the road, when she's fed up of you falling asleep when her and her friends are round, she's eying up someone else. Eventually, you're fed up with your new situation and her spending, and you pine for your old life. Your second separation duly follows, and she's been " bothering " with someone newer and younger. This cleans you out financially, and you end up in a dilapidated 2 Bed flat on the " wrong " side of town, pouring red wine on your Cornflakes and pondering on Steve McQueen's last words, " I should have kept it in my pants ! anyone surprised?
Not really , they shoot from the hip, then some lawyers point out they cannot do it.
I'll take that as a tribute to my " creativity " .... Mrs " Clarets4me " and I tied the knot in 1989,and are still very much an item. No less a person than " Captain Kirk " can attest to this as he attended the happy event !
Not unduly no, I just wish they go if they're going, but they don't want to leave their domestic leagues do they, what they want is to have this ESL as an addition to their income, but at the same time they still expect to compete in La Liga, PL, Serie A, because they ultimately know that there's a great risk of their brand shiny new venture not faring as well as they might hope, and if and when it all goes pear-shaped they'll need a safety net which those domestic leagues offer.conyoviejo wrote: ↑Mon Apr 19, 2021 7:16 pmBothered about those six clubs leaving? Personally I will be glad to see the back of them all.Let them get on with it .Good riddance to them all.
not to say commercial agreements with international partnersTop Claret wrote: ↑Mon Apr 19, 2021 7:26 pmThe uncertainty of all this won't help Burnley going forward. If the big 6 drop out the monies coming from broadcasting will reduce drastically, this will make us wary of signing players on long contracts with high wages

AS this morning displayed with UEFA ratifying that crap Champions League reform
It will also mean Pace and Co will put the club into even more debt before they try to find a buyerTop Claret wrote: ↑Mon Apr 19, 2021 7:26 pmThe uncertainty of all this won't help Burnley going forward. It's the closed shop that's the biggest disgrace. That has never happened under UEFA or the PL to my knowledge.
The Coefficient system that is still being discussed is very close to that
I don't believe it bears any resemblance to what is being proposed for the Super League.Chester Perry wrote: ↑Mon Apr 19, 2021 7:41 pmThe Coefficient system that is still being discussed is very close to that
Definitely not. Completely different obviously ...
Had to follow? Do they expect people to believe that?Spijed wrote: ↑Mon Apr 19, 2021 7:41 pm@MarcoRossiEN

Already hearing rumours that Chelsea and Man City are trying to U-turn from this #ESL mess. Neither liked idea, but ‘had to follow’ or risk huge financial problems. They think they can persuade Spurs and believe 3 English clubs will be enough to dissolve plans. #THFC #CFC #MCFC
it is more close than most recognise - and a more significantly a staging post to the same end
Govt announced earlier that they’ll “review the support they offer these clubs”. Presumably that means the BoE loans. They should call them in immediately. CP - is that both Arsenal and Spurs? Anyone else?Spijed wrote: ↑Mon Apr 19, 2021 7:41 pm@MarcoRossiEN

No, we thought the traffic and parking might be too difficult for the Guests ....
It’s not a consortium but the family who own King Power. I think it’s now virtually owned by Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha.kentonclaret wrote: ↑Mon Apr 19, 2021 6:42 pmLeicester are owned by a wealthy Malaysian consortium so I am sure their invite is just delayed in the mail.![]()
just those two - they ware due to be paid up by June so not sure if it could be done
I assume they haven’t got £175m to pay back so are anticipating an extension??Chester Perry wrote: ↑Mon Apr 19, 2021 7:54 pmjust those two - they ware due to be paid up by June so not sure if it could be done
The BoE is independent of government so if it offers renewals/extentions to others it would be difficult to stop them doingit to those clubs if the criteria is met - the clubs could raise the funds from other sources , though not as cheaply
I agree, a genuinely competitive top flight and a realistic chance of winning a cup would be great.
Wouldn’t like to try and pronounce that after a couple of beers, Tony!ClaretTony wrote: ↑Mon Apr 19, 2021 7:54 pmIt’s not a consortium but the family who own King Power. I think it’s now virtually owned by Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha.
