What is it with modern day pundits overusing these two words like they have something important to say,it’s proper annoying

I totally agree, it's the "listen" phrase like they are a font of wisdom about to proclaim that they have just cracked cold fusion or a cure for cancer.

Aussie cricketers use both a lot, especially listen, drives me mad!!
