Re: Sussex v Lancs
Yes he's determined to be positive I like that approach there's no point just blocking every ball, and if you can put pressure back on the bowlers then do it, already the target is down to just over 200 mainly due to his aggressive batting.Clarets4me wrote: ↑Sat May 01, 2021 5:16 pmDavies has just hit 18 off the 5th over .... 31-0 after 5.1 overs ..

Re: Sussex v Lancs
Very young bowling attack as well so good to put the pressure back on them and see how they do. So far so good.

Re: Sussex v Lancs
98-0 brilliant knock by Davies and handy support from Jennings, Lancs should be in the box seat from here, but a couple of wickets and it can easily swing again.

Yes Davies back in the hutch, but he's broken the back of this chase, and it's under 150 to win now.

Lancs finish on 124-2. A further 129 to win. Jennings and nightwatchman Mahmood will resume tomorrow.

Re: Sussex v Lancs
Shame about the 2 late wickets, but Lancs in a decent place to go on and complete a hard fought and important victory, vital that Jennings carries on playing the anchor role and allows the rest to play more attacking strokes. nearly halfway to the target already and every run that is ticked off will increase the pressure on their inexperienced attack.

Re: Sussex v Lancs
shame on that last wicket, looked a dubious LBW, looked to have hit Wells well outside off stump.

Now 173-4. 80 to win.
Don't want to jinx anything, but Keaton Jennings is batting very sensibly. If he stays in, we win.

Re: Sussex v Lancs
Terrific win for Lancs, and surprisingly convincing in the end, great knock from Jennings to add to his 1st innings half century, and hopefully he'll kick on from this match and start regularly contributing runs at the top of the order.
Shame the lucky Yorkies held on to scrap a win over Northants, but they're still in Lancashire's shadow in the standings, makes that Roses contest at the end of May all the spicier if both are still competing for top spot in the section.
I also note Jos Buttler blasted a quickfire 100 in the IPL.

Yorkshire refusing to let their players be interviewed by Wisden Cricket Magazine after they ran an interview with an ex player who claimed racism was rife at the club.
Very classy.

Re: Sussex v Lancs
Watched some of this on You Tube. Alex Davies is in a different league once he gets going. Absolute unplayable. Jennings looked very assured and never in trouble of getting out. Livingstone looked poor the moment he walked in. A special mention for the young spinner from Sussex, Carson. One to look out for here i think. He looked very good.
