I wasn't sure when he was made captain, not his ability, I just thought the extra responsibility could impact his game.
If anything he's improved even more, and as a figure head and spokesman for the team, he just makes you feel proud that he's one of ours.
I can easily see Ben seeing his career out with us, by then God knows how many records he will have broken. A true legend.

I had a good long thought about who I should vote for in the Club Player of the Year ballot. There are quite a few who are worthy of selection, but I thought that the major factor of our season was the first few games. Ben was injured for most of these and it wasn't until he returned that our fortunes improved. It highlighted how much of an impact as player and captain he is. I voted for him.

Tom Heaton had been such a good captain and leader for us there was some trepidation when he left, but Ben has taken it on to another level. Such a great representative of our club and town. A player who is the walking talking embodiment of Dyche’s key core values.

The difference between the good and great players is the great ones improve the players around them and I’m sure Keane and Tarky would agree with that.

Ben is the epitome of our spirit on the pitch, but it's not just his contributions on the pitch that deserve mention, he's been a great ambassador for BFC in the media, and all being well he'll retire at Burnley after playing many more games.

He'll definitely go down as a club legend when the history of this period is written about in decades to come.
