Tonight's footy 12/5
Chelsea-Arsenal the main event later on, but there's plenty of SPL action taking place now.
Rangers winning again and that means if they avoid defeat to Aberdeen at the weekend they'll have gone the whole league campaign without suffering defeat, that would be some achievement for Stevie G and his players Arfield included.
All square in the Mellon-Alexander battle 2-2, Chris Long scoring for Motherwell.
Kyle Lafferty on the mark yet again for Kilmarnock to complete the ex-Clarets scoring this evening.
Brian Easton lining up for Hamilton in their crunch relegation clash at Ross County.
Finally Adam Legzdins in action for Dundee at Raith Rovers in the 1st leg of the play-off semi-final.

1-0 Arsenal Smith Rowe netting again, he's some talent that lad.

Re: Tonight's footy 12/5
As stated on my telly the goalie illegally played the back pass with his hand so if Smith Rowe had missed it would’ve been indirect free kick on the line. Interesting!

2nd for Kyle Lafferty.
And what Jorginho was thinking passing back blindly only he knows, suicidal play and they were duly punished, when will teams learn not to prat around with the ball in their own penalty box.

Re: Tonight's footy 12/5
Would Kepa have been sent off as well? Denying a goal? Or does that not count for keepers?
VAR wouldn’t have give it anyway as it is a free kick not a penalty and the ref wasn’t signalling for an advantage so even though it should have been an indirect free kick it wouldn't have happened due to inept refs who don’t know the rules.

Thanks for that, thelaughingclaret. Such are the idiosyncrasies of refereeing I suppose.thelaughingclaret wrote: ↑Wed May 12, 2021 9:45 pmWould Kepa have been sent off as well? Denying a goal? Or does that not count for keepers?

Didn't realise how close to the European places Arsenal are. Shows what a strange season it's been!

The game has got more entertaining now that Chelsea are getting the ball into the box more instead of farting about with pass after pass after pass.......

Terrific defensive performance from Arsenal. Very happy they’ve dinted Chelsea’s champion league aspirations.

Re: Tonight's footy 12/5
Can't fathom out this Arsenal team, they go from the sublime to the ridiculous, they've done the double over Chelsea now, and also won at the KP & OT, but they've also dropped a number of points to the lower mid-table sides.
I still think the current top 4 will remain the top 4, although that result tonight will give Liverpool hope of snatching that 4th spot on the final day.
