Unless he wants to go, he's not for sale at any price.

Re: £30m for Chris Wood ?
Chris Wood finished in joint 11th place for the Golden Boot award.
If you look at the list and go down to 15th place there is not one other player you would get even close to buying for a quoted price of £30m, apart from Matheus Pereira at West Brom who scored 11 goals, 1 fewer than Chris Wood.

Re: £30m for Chris Wood ?
I guess that's the going price for a striker who can score regularly in the Premier league, in a team that doesn't score many.

I don’t know what the Football Insider is inside of, but judging by it’s track record, it’s not anything connected to transfers.

Can we just swap him for Watkins and call it a deal?

I’d swap him for Calvert-Lewin…

Football Insider. They just have just about the worst possible record when it comes to all things football, and that really does take some doing.
As for £30m for Wood. Football is brassic. Sooner or later that will sink in for people.

Re: £30m for Chris Wood ?
What do you think? You're allowed an opinion like everyone.
For me he gave the best performance of the season that I saw in the first half here. He managed to occupy all our back 4 on his own with pace, chasing down, anticipation of where the ball was going.
If we had such a player, then we would be able to play 3 CMs and not always be dominated in that area.

Re: £30m for Chris Wood ?
You can't compare the two, they are completely different kinds of player.
As for Wood, only ten players scored more Premier League goals than him last season. That's one reason why he's rated as a £30 million striker. We paid half of that for him four years ago when he was virtually untried in the Premier League.

Re: £30m for Chris Wood ?
He should be rated at 30m for his regular goals and for 9 or 10 games after his injury he was playing out of his skin.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Thu Jun 03, 2021 10:14 amYou can't compare the two, they are completely different kinds of player.

As you say, unfair to compare with Watkins but as it's Villa linked then it will come up.

So that’s Villa giving us £15m for Dwight & £30m for Wood then?

Are we talking about the same player the majority on here slagged off for the 1st part of the season stating he’s not good enough.

He went from tripping over his feet to scoring a hat trick vs Wolves.
Fair play takes a big character to shrug off that shocking form and turn it around

I think most normal people say what they see. If he has a bad game or out of form they say. If he plays well then say.pushpinpussy wrote: ↑Thu Jun 03, 2021 12:45 pmHe just hit form. It happens to a Lot of players. It’s a lesson for the inbreds on here to stick with the players through thick and thin and not panic or throw their toys out of the pram
Hope that's ok Mr Warburton?

Re: £30m for Chris Wood ?
Yes, the same player who was utter gash the first half of that season to a point where the criticism at the time was justified. He has had a remarkable turnaround and now fully deserves the praise which if anything makes the first half of the season even more frustrating.pushpinpussy wrote: ↑Thu Jun 03, 2021 12:41 pmAre we talking about the same player the majority on here slagged off for the 1st part of the season stating he’s not good enough.

Re: £30m for Chris Wood ?
That silly thread I was actually tagged a drug pushing lunatic for arguing the case for an extreme minority of the population to be given low manageable doses of sedative drugs, only when driving is essential but the overwhelming preferred course of ideology is to let motorists on the road absolutely scared sh**less not wishing to derail the thread, Chris wood is worth more to us than the fee we would receive for him, he's just not a fashionable enough name & quietly goes under the radar most of the time efficiently doing his job & for that I'm grateful he doesn't have the appeal others have.

Re: £30m for Chris Wood ?
Wood is one of around 8-9 Burnley players big bids could come in for before next season. We have very few players unlikely to attract attention.
All have proven they can do it in the PL and all will have a price the club will sell them for . Each and every one of them would go if the situation arose that the club was willing to accept an offer.
That is the reality of it and I think it’s great that we have so many saleable assets.
Hopefully we won’t lose any of them

Re: £30m for Chris Wood ?
I have. Its an extremely busy time now. In the last week I have managed to successfully defend a drug driver since he was a youth with learning difficulties, but he was not offered an appropriate adult at the Police Station.
I have also managed to get a drink drive case ditched since the Crown did not serve the SFR2 even though I asked for it 3 times.
Finally, I manged to get a Failure to provide case discontinued due to the fact the Officers did not ask the Defendant the most relevant questions regarding the intoxilyzer procedure.
Happy days

People like you have double standards. Without a shadow of doubt if one of your siblings needed advice or representation you would be in touch. It happens everyday. I’m not breaking any laws. I’m following the law. Don’t give me this morals thing. I’m 100 percent honest and follow the legislation. If other parties do not that’s not my problem.

The only thing I'd believe coming from Pushpinpussy is if he said he works for Football Insider.

Re: £30m for Chris Wood ?
Why would we take £30m for a player who can’t be replaced for £30m? Every time we’ve sold a valuable player we’ve had a replacement ready. At the minute we don’t have a relevant waiting for any of our “valuable” players.
