England-Scotland predictions
Try as I might I just can't make a case for Scotland tomorrow, they were poor in their opening game, and that was with home advantage, so it should be a routine England victory, it won't be a landslide as the Scots under Steve Clarke will be organised and difficult to break down, but I foresee a 2-0 England win.
Re: England-Scotland predictions
3 - 1 England win.
Re: England-Scotland predictions
I don't think Scotland will cause England too many problems. 2-0 England

Re: England-Scotland predictions
England should murder them but, on the other hand, it's the biggest game that most of the Scots will ever play in, so you never know.
Coral are offering 10/1 for a Scotland win. I might risk a tenner.

Will take a non-performance from England, of the standard against Iceland, for the jocks to take anything from this.
A nervous 2-0 from England, nevertheless, is my prediction.

Yes this should be a relatively easy group now Croatia are out of the way, and I like Gareth's simple mantra "it's another opportunity to get 3 points"AlargeClaret wrote: ↑Thu Jun 17, 2021 3:23 pmRivers of p1ss and puke , kilted pale faced sunburnt jocks passed out in the streets etc etc .

This sums up the difference in approach between the 2 teams, for Scotland this is their cup final, whereas for England it's just a stepping stone before bigger fish await.
The Scots have made their presence felt in London town then I note, some things never change do they, at least this time they shouldn't be able to steal the crossbars.

I just hope we come through with no injuries or cards. If we lose it won't be that bad as long as we finish second.

It bloody well will be for exiles like me who still has to live north of the border, if we must lose a game and come 2nd in the group let's make it the CR match with Vydra scoring their winner.superdimitri wrote: ↑Thu Jun 17, 2021 4:22 pmI just hope we come through with no injuries or cards. Although TBH there is no reason why England can't win all 3 of our group games and top the group, if we get a tough draw so be it, we'll have to beat at least one of the heavyweights if we're going to go all the way.

Re: England-Scotland predictions
Anything less than 4-0 SHOULD be regarded as a disappointment. Lets just have a look at the squads for a minute..... Scotland have NO players of any real note, no player who can really worry any of Englands average defenders. The Scots best player is a left-back, and he may get forward and bang a few crosses over, but there's no-one in the box who can worry us, and no-one in the centre who can play thru us. Overall they are significantly weaker in EVERY position than England. Even Wales have a couple of really good players who can change a game in Ramsey and Bale, Scotland have no-one really. This game should be so one sided it's untrue. Hope this isn't viewed by our Scottish forum users as the same old England arrogance, 'cos that's not really how it is, or how it's meant... our squad is just full of really good attacking talent that most teams in the tournament should be worried about. We SHOULD blow them away comfortably. (if we go 1-0 up after 5 mins, anyone see us `parking the bus`?
Their best chance is if we come out like rabbits in the headlights and Steve Clarke gives a Sean Dyche-esque team talk and sets them up to defend resolutely and catch us with a soft set piece. Basically, to get anything at all from the game, Scotland need to `Burnley` us.

Re: England-Scotland predictions
I know what you're saying but many teams have won the tournament before just because they've only had to play a single decent team in the knockout stages. If we have to play a top team in our first knockout phase, and then play another and another then the odds are just stacked against us.tiger76 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 17, 2021 5:01 pmIt bloody well will be for exiles like me who still has to live north of the border, if we must lose a game and come 2nd in the group let's make it the CR match with Vydra scoring their winner.

I believe we'll try to win, don't get me wrong, just saying that if we don't it won't be the end of the world provided we can get a result against the Czechs.

I think England will lash them 3-0 then take their foot off the gas and coast the rest of the game .
I really want England to win now that's something that i have never said on here or anywhere else for that matter . Very much dislike the Scots after Ireland playing them a few years ago .

Re: England-Scotland predictions
They generally manage to give us a game. 2 nil England but not without a few scares.
Re: England-Scotland predictions
1. England will win
2. The game will mean more to Scotland than it does to England.
3. There will be more cards than most of the games played this far
4. That one or two England players will give it the billybigbollux afterwards but
5. It will turn out to have been englands "Cup final", the only English thing getting to the final stages being the ground.

Re: England-Scotland predictions
My guess is 2-1 to England.
It'd be unbearable to lose at footy to them after losing at rugby at home in February. IF we lose, put me in the Southgate Out camp (not that he'll be gotten rid of).

Re: England-Scotland predictions
While there is nothing saying England should not win comfortably, I have seen the Scots mentally dominate England on the field before, when on paper it should have been a walkover.
Hope the new generation prove me wrong, but it is exactly the kind of fixture that bursts English bubbles in these competitions.
I’ll be relieved with a win, delighted with a good win but unsurprised at anything worse.

Shamelessly stolen from Facebook…
It is just before Scotland v England in the Euro’s Group game.
Kane goes into the English changing room to find all his team mates looking a bit glum.
"What's up?" he asks.
"Well, we're having trouble getting motivated for this game. We know it's important but it's only Scotland. They're shite and we can't be bothered".
Kane looks at them and says "Well, I reckon I can beat these by myself, you lads go down the pub."
So Kane goes out to play Scotland by himself and the rest of the English team go off for a few pints. After a few jars they wonder how the game is going, so they get the landlord to put the teletext on. A big cheer goes up as the screen reads "England 1 - Scotland 0 (Kane 10minutes)". He is beating Scotland all by himself!
Anyway, a few more pints later and the game is forgotten until someone remembers "It must be full time now, let's see how he got on". They put the teletext on.
"Result from the Stadium "England 1 (Kane 10 minutes) - Scotland 1"(Angus McShagnasty 89 minutes)".
They can't believe it, he has single handedly got a draw against Scotland!!
They rush back to the Stadium to congratulate him. They find him in the dressing room, still in his gear, sat with his head in his hands. He refuses to look at them.
"I've let you down, I've let you down."
"Don't be daft, you got a draw against Scotland , all by yourself. And they only scored at the very very end"
"No, No, I have, I've let you down...
I got sent off after 12 minutes"

I have soft spot for Scotland having lived there in the late 70s and travelling down with Allys Army to witness the victory at Anfield over Wales that took them to the World Cup finals in Argentina.
Great times with passionate fans. I hope for a Scotland win but think they will struggle to score . 3-0

Re: England-Scotland predictions
4-1. My Scottish mate is a fanatical Scotland fan and even he said he fears it'll be a big defeat for them.
Re: England-Scotland predictions
Until I moved to London I always supported all the home countries hoping they did well, unless of course they were playing England. But even then I would not want them humiliated. That all changed in 1973. I'd moved into a house share with 5 Scotsmen. All a great bunch of guys who I got on really well with. Lots of harmless banter about football or so I thought. Watching the England-Poland match together where we needed to win to go through to the World Cup finals was a real eye opener. When Poland scored they all went mad cheering and jumping up and down. They were all so pleased come the final whistle that England were out of the World Cup. Since that day I have always wished them ill fortune and thus far my wish has come true.

Re: England-Scotland predictions
This is massive for Scotland. You could give them a choice, beat England or win the World Cup and the saddos would pick the former.
England just need to ride out the intense first 10/15 minutes then just let Jack Grealish taunt them for rest.
I’d say 4-0, but it’ll be close for 60/70 minutes.

10-0. The England fans are bad enough but the way the jocks are behaving is intolerable. Let them go home feeling so humiliated that they won’t come back in a hurry.
