That's me talking about cheating, Kane didn't cheat, it was a CLEAR foul, the defender stood on top of Kanes foot and didn't get anywhere near the ball...Taffy on the wing wrote: ↑Sat Jul 03, 2021 9:21 pmUnread post by KRBFC » Sat Jul 03, 2021 4:32 am

What a difference between this and the Iceland game , remember who was manager then , the one who can do no wrong on here .

Four wins at a tournament, double any of his predecessors, five clean sheets - first time it’s ever been done and only manager apart from Alf to reach two semis.
Hats off to Southgate.

Re: Today's Games
Good by England. Solid and dispatched Ukraine professionally. Ukraine’s players are often playing in lower leagues or in minor countries, e.g. Kryvtsov who couldn’t handle Kane is playing in Donetsk. But we can only beat what’s in front of us.
The next match is key though - Denmark are a step up in class but still one we should comfortably beat. The final will be the time to assess how well we did. The key choice will be the three attacking midfielders. That will determine if we create or not. I’m certainly not going to criticise ahead of the games, Southgate may get the choices right and we could win the thing. I certainly think we’ll beat Denmark.

Confidence will be high against Denmark but I can’t pick a winner between the two sides. Defensively we will have our biggest test of the tournament so far

The Danes will be dangerous, are on an absolute high and have the Erickson cause pushing them forward, it will be a very tough game

The best thing for us is that GS managed to give some of our players a bit of a rest, whilst giving others a taste of the competition.
Of course it could all go wrong against the Danes, but you have to have some belief in what GS is doing with this squad

Re: Today's Games
Southgate won me over today because he clearly wasn't happy at half-time. The pressing in the second half and forward passing felt like they were 70% up on the first half and that surely came from him. I've never ever had an issue with him as a bloke but have accused him of being too negative (because he was) but the second half today was epicboatshed bill wrote: ↑Sat Jul 03, 2021 10:50 pmSo it should be, it's a semi final.

Epic is a bit , well a lot, strong given a win against a team who seemingly didn't understand the concept of marking from crosses. Many people, myself included, thought we'd win this one comfortably . However, yes, you can only beat what's in front of you.

Re: Today's Games
the epic part was the desire to push forward and press - that's all I ask for, the talent is there as we all know. It wasn't there in the first half, showed by Sterling shouting at Shaw for consistently playing the ball backwards - second half was the polar oppositeStalbansclaret wrote: ↑Sat Jul 03, 2021 11:11 pmEpic is a bit , well a lot, strong given a win against a team who seemingly didn't understand the concept of marking from crosses. Shaw was very good last season and has had an excellent tournament - if his diet does indeed consist of meat pies perhaps there’s something to be said for it.

Always have a back up normal aerial to plug in when the satellite dish drop due to atmospheric conditions.

And now we're at the business end of the tournament.............
I'm thinking more "Forza Azzurri" than "Ole, Espania" but you never know. If we have hopes of winning the darn thing - and, yes, we've a tough old test tomorrow - I 'm not sure it matters who wins this one.

Be interesting to see who comes out on top in the battle of the Chelsea stars Emerson and Azpilicueta down the left hand side, that has been so productive thus far for the Italians in this tournament. Emerson played against Wales.

Re: Today's Games
Purely personal judgement- Coral are offering the following ...Italy 6/4, the draw 21/10 or a win for Spain 21/10.
Italy favourites, the equivalent of 15/10 as opposed to Spain's 21/10, there's a difference but not massively so.

Re: Today's Games
Two cracking teams on show tonight. With so much at stake, will it be a grim war of attrition or a free-flowing display of the game at its best ? Either way, there'll be plenty of histrionics/gamesmanship/cheating, I fear.
It's at Wembley, I'd not realised.

Re: Today's Games
Italy should have the edge, however how they cope with the absence of Spinazzola will go a long way as to whether they make the final or not.
I think they'll edge it 2-1, but I wouldn't be surprised if it went the distance before they do.

Two good sides but I think they’ll cancel each other out. I’ll go for the Italians because if they go ahead they’ll just shut up shop.

Re: Today's Games
Hopefully an attractive , attacking game to watch. Spain have only won 1 game in 90 mins in the tournament ,I think I read today. If so ,with the Italians being their strongest opposition to date, they may have to take the game into extra time or penalties to reach the Final.
Hopefully the officiating won’t spoil if and all things being equal I fancy Italy to win

I’m just hoping the Italian’s don’t spoil it with their blatant diving / moaning / faking nonsense.

Spain bossing but with no end product.

Donnarumma wouldn’t get in a GS team with kicking like that.
