Glad I managed to give you a laugh in these difficult times. Of course we won’t be the only nation in the world who’s fans boo the opposition’s national anthem. But we have noticeably been the only nation who has done so in this tournament, and I can’t remember the last time I heard the English anthem booed before a game. So in my mind I was correct to say that we ‘seem to be the only country whose fans do this.’.Bin Ont Turf wrote: ↑Fri Jul 09, 2021 7:05 pmI'm not really for booing National Anthems, I think it's poor form.
But Rileybobs suggesting that it's only England fans who do it, is an absolute laugh.

This entire discourse is being massively blown out of proportion, on here and elsewhere. It's like people have never been to a footy match in their entire lives.

Re: Boris Johnson doesn't want booing at the final
I get a bit confused.
I get the bit about not booing the national anthem. It’s not for me but it is part of the theatre so I don’t mind it, even for countries I love like Italy.
But as for booing once the Italians start diving, fouling, cheating (a sport they are certainly world champions at) - I’d be upset if we didn’t boo that stuff to be honest.

Booing in order to give your national team some kind of psychological advantage?
Okay, perhaps the FA will hand out printed sheets with the required wording to help get the atmosphere going for the final.

Looks like it’s just CFC’s mates having a bit of banter.

The Italians will already have a psychological advantage when the two respective national anthems are played.
