Walker clear MOTM for me, brilliant defensive display.

Maguire and Sterling for me. Was an excellent team performance though. 75 minutes onwards there was only one team going to win it.

Sam Matterface .....Sam Shutyerface more like. A horrendous display of pre-rehearsed cliches and not knowing when to shut the **** up.
Re: Today's Game
I never doubted, I just didn't see the price tag, this tournament he's been incredible and looks an absolute million miles better than Tarkowski. There's a world of difference between Maguire's ability on the ball and Tarkowski.

He followed orders perfectly.
Wide, ran or was in space. Used overlap well with team mates and kept the ball every time.

It’s either that or he needs a lifeguard .
You’re right though , I’m not a fan of players who cheat whether they put on the colours of England or any other nation. The same goes at club level.

Re: Today's Game
Yes, acres of space and absolutely dying to get that ball into the box but ran to the corner flag instead. 6 minutes to go.

Yet Sterling seemed to have free rein to run and lose the ball.

It's not difficult to understand if the Danes don't have the ball they can't score.Bin Ont Turf wrote: ↑Thu Jul 08, 2021 12:39 amYes, acres of space and absolutely dying to get that ball into the box but ran to the corner flag instead. 6 minutes to go.I really don't understand the mentality.

Are you referring to the time right at the death where sterling had a shot and it went out for a corner? Shame on himBin Ont Turf wrote: ↑Thu Jul 08, 2021 12:39 amYes, acres of space and absolutely dying to get that ball into the box but ran to the corner flag instead. 6 minutes to go.I really don't understand the mentality.

He had so many opportunities to cross and we know his crosses are the best. England could have buried them. They only had 10 men! Holes at the back.
Then, as you say, Sterling was ok to run them ragged but as a one man attack force.
I wouldn't play like that against Italy. Ladt thing is to let them at you.

Re: Today's Game
When they go to the corner flag, when they have chance to put in a cross it drives me mad,Brian Clough once said it only takes a second to score a goal, wasting time with 6 minutes to go was ridiculous, you sometimes wish the other team would take it straight up the other end and bang it in.Bin Ont Turf wrote: ↑Thu Jul 08, 2021 12:39 amYes, acres of space and absolutely dying to get that ball into the box but ran to the corner flag instead. 6 minutes to go.I really don't understand the mentality.

England killed around 5 minutes at the end and kept the ball through 54 passes! That was the kind of play you associate with the big Spain and Germany teams of the past! It’s called game management.

Re: Today's Game
Tripps delivery to Shaw for that goal was stunning. Yes the finish was something else from Shaw. Brought back memories of when he delivered goal scoring crosses at Burnley. Once a Claret, always a Claret. Confident for the 2nd half. They are causing Italy all sorts of problems.

25 mins from glory
What a great first half from England. Brilliant move for the early goal we craved.
Looked solid and while Italy starting to get into a groove we’ve looked comfortable.
Same again England

Re: Today's Game
Solid 45 after the early goal, but it's not over yet by a long chalk, Shaw & Tripps both outstanding.
What a story it would be if Luke Shaw scored the winner after everything he's been through in the last couple of years.

Re: Today's Game
They'd one good effort past Pickford's left post he'd not have saved had been on target.
That's it, really.
Not bad against the most attacking Italian sides I've ever seen.
More of the same 2nd half please.

That's people breaking into the ground and punters fighting them for doing so - officially only a few broke in - lots of journos posting about groups all over the place that have obviously gotten in without tickets - there have been repeated attempts for hours - disabled entrances being a particular focus apparentlyHunterST_BFC wrote: ↑Sun Jul 11, 2021 9:00 pmHalf time

Italy with a deserved equaliser.
Our centre midfield getting overrun again.

So unfortunate, Pickford with an outstanding save there just bounces off the post into a great area
