His age, number of PL appearances, contract length, nationality and the fact we don't need to sell dictates his price and you're well off.

Villa paid more for the lad from Norwich ...
Football is all about opinions, we disagree.

Bundia is a far better player than Dwight IMO, he was worth more.

Genuinely, I don’t believe Dwight has the required attributes to make it at a top club/play consistently in the champions league.

I think he’s rightly lauded as a BFC player and the impact he has for us. But, like Mee, Tarks, Taylor, and McNeil they’re over hyped by our fan base. There were calls for all four to play for England not so long ago for Christ sake!

Pope os the only player who could play in a top six team.

We don't need to wait 12 mths, they've both been in the PL for the 19/20 season.
Dwight has never played in the championship, so that season is the only one we've got thus far for comparisons.

Utter ********. He consistently plays well for the U21s and that is a stepping stone for bigger things ahead. Surrounded by better players he could be outstanding. You obviously have an agenda so thus is my last post on the subject.

He's so overrated. Goes missing far too much in games. I'd cash in this summer as his value is going to significantly decrease over the next couple of years. Take 30 mill+ now. We'd be able to get two players that would improve the squad.

How about we spend some money on a decent right winger to take some of the pressure off McNeil.

Our most (if not only) creative player.
I get the point about £30m plus add-ons.
I also think he could develop into a very good player. whether that's at Burnley or elsewhere is up to him at present.

So that's two players worth half as much as Dwight and that improves the squad? Just trying to do the maths on a scrap of paper.

In footballing terms, he’s a baby! He may well “go missing” occasionally but what do you expect from a young lad learning the game!?

He’s had unreasonable expectation placed on him and if it wasn’t for his performances the season before last, I dread to think where we might be.

Give the lad a break and the opportunities to make mistakes and go missing from time to time! Last season he was a known entity - it’s no wonder it was more of a struggle for him.

Lets nurture the talent we have, not expect miracles!

he is the only attacking threat from midfield in our entire team - get a better player on the right wing and you'll see how good DM really is - we have asked him to do it all on his own

He's the only one in our midfield who creates anything from open play, huge pressure on young shoulders and makes it way easier for other teams to suss him out.

baffles me that others don't see it - we simply have to fix our right wing issue this summer

I hope we go in for Reiss Nelson, should be relatively cheap. His Arsenal career has nosedived, Arteta doesnt seem to like youth.

No agenda, as I’ve mentioned, football is about opinions. We disagree, that’s okay.

I do feel our fan base overhype players constantly, and then become ultras when someone offers a differing opinion.

Dwight is a good player. But technically he’s average, and he’s no real acceleration. I wouldn’t be looking at him and thinking he’ll improve my squad if I’m Everton, Leicester, Arsenal and so on.

He is very good for BFC and the system BFC play, like Tarks, like Mee. Outside of that, they may struggle. They may well be best served realising this earlier rather than later.

Unfortunately you will get shot down for having opinions like this. As you say though, opinions are opinions. None of us really know the truth and I don't think anyone will really be surprised if they're wrong.

When Trippier signed for us I had my doubts he'd even make it in the premier league due to his defensive frailties. As it turned out he is good enough to start a European Cup final and win the Europa League.

I keep saying it, but just because you're critical of a player doesn't mean you don't support them. Just because you think he's not as good as others think he is, does not mean you don't want him to prove yourself wrong.

As for McNeil, I personally think he's got potential to be a decent mid table winger and will probably go on to do better things after he leaves us but I'd be surprised to see him playing well for a top club. You only need to look at some other players who have tried and failed to make an impact at bigger teams. You need to be very, very good to pull it off.

We all support the team and it's players, we're allowed to express concern and offer criticisms, it's supporting Burnley, not a totalitarian cult.

A young player?
A fast direct attacking player?
A player on loan?

Are you mad, that stands against everything we stand for.

I'd be surprised if he dropped down to league 1, and I thought they were absolutely skint so no contribution of wages? Ideally a Championship club covering some of his wages would be ideal but I guess it depends how keen we are for him to play regular football/move him out.

Doesn't really matter about their previous, sometimes clubs buy players for their potential. Moukoko and Fati are worth more than Dwight is despite not doing it longer at the highest level.
Yeah…..sometimes. But Buendia is 23/24 (?) and not an unknown quantity so most would assume that Villa are basing it on what they have seen over the last 3 years he’s been at Norwich (2 years of which he’s been in the Championship).

From what I have read the original asking price was £20m, Leeds offered 10m and wouldn't go higher we offered 13m. Leeds could go back in for him, and then again it could all be smoke and mirrors trying to drum up a bidding war, and the price.

Seems like an odd link in terms of what we usually go for, albeit a link that excites me, I think he’d be fantastic for a few seasons and would then probably be sold on for much much more money.

Matter of time before we have a Chuck on the books, what with the new ownership 😉

I think Dyche has form for wanting a quicker direct winger (Lennon, Nkoudou) but for whatever reason never seems to pan out.

They always seem to run backwards in our system so not much benefit.

Dwight excels when he picks the ball up deep and can run forward

We always seem to prioritise keepers in the market.

For me it’s literally the last position that needs strengthening right now.

We desperately need some midfielders adding
