No agenda, as I’ve mentioned, football is about opinions. We disagree, that’s okay.
I do feel our fan base overhype players constantly, and then become ultras when someone offers a differing opinion.
Dwight is a good player. But technically he’s average, and he’s no real acceleration. I wouldn’t be looking at him and thinking he’ll improve my squad if I’m Everton, Leicester, Arsenal and so on.
He is very good for BFC and the system BFC play, like Tarks, like Mee. Outside of that, they may struggle. They may well be best served realising this earlier rather than later.
Unfortunately you will get shot down for having opinions like this. As you say though, opinions are opinions. None of us really know the truth and I don't think anyone will really be surprised if they're wrong.
When Trippier signed for us I had my doubts he'd even make it in the premier league due to his defensive frailties. As it turned out he is good enough to start a European Cup final and win the Europa League.
I keep saying it, but just because you're critical of a player doesn't mean you don't support them. Just because you think he's not as good as others think he is, does not mean you don't want him to prove yourself wrong.
As for McNeil, I personally think he's got potential to be a decent mid table winger and will probably go on to do better things after he leaves us but I'd be surprised to see him playing well for a top club. You only need to look at some other players who have tried and failed to make an impact at bigger teams. You need to be very, very good to pull it off.
We all support the team and it's players, we're allowed to express concern and offer criticisms, it's supporting Burnley, not a totalitarian cult.
