Worst kit I’ve seen in a long time. It’s just those sleeves, who the hell designed them? Truly awful

I dare you to wear White Shorts and socks with your Peter Noble V shirt
I love this shirt, me being a bit more trendy like
Re: Home kit unveiled
Not for me. Favourite is still the1960 with hooped socks, followed by the early 70s all claret shirt.

Horrible cheap looking, looks like something you would buy in an end of summer sale at M&M Direct for 5.99.
Those sleeves are hideous.

Re: Home kit unveiled
Just awful. Something you would expect a tin pot club like Scunthorpe to wear along with the light blue shorts and socks. An established Premier League club like us should be kitted out in better than this. Somebody high up must have signed it off though.

Re: Home kit unveiled
Fantastic shirt, spoilt by the sponsor. Would absolutely loved to have bought one but refuse to on principle. Again though, a very nice looking shirt. Would happily have paid £60-£70 for one of these minus the sponsor.

The sleeves look like a beach towel.
Re: Home kit unveiled
I'm not instantly repulsed so it's a decent kit for me. Not too busy, very traditional and a more subtle sponsor reminiscent of POCO, Multipart and Endsleigh. Could the blue shorts and socks mean we're getting an all white away kit?

That was my immediate thought; you wouldn’t want two sets of white shorts.

The more I see it the more I like it.
Granted it’s still a betting sponsor which doesn’t massively bother me, but I’m so glad it’s not some random foreign symbols. Looks so much smarter.

Great looking shirt. I love the sleeves. It's different. Sponsors logo has to be there but it isn't obtrusive and the sleeves take your eye away from it anyhow. I don't care whether shorts are blue or white. Both look great to me.
Love it.

Best home shirt we have had in ages. Hope we go sky blue with claret shorts and socks for the away kit….
Re: Home kit unveiled
I think it looks good. It's obviously my opinion but at the end of the day it's hardly fundamentally different is it? It's a piece of synthetic material of the same colours every year. . So all you wynging belmtards.... It's a football shirt
Re: Home kit unveiled
I've just seen Dwight modelling one and it is the first time I have seen him in a short sleeved shirt. I see he is sporting a full length arm tattoo.

Re: Home kit unveiled
I'm a traditionalist when it comes to the kit but it's not that offensive.
Would have liked a few tweaks. Perhaps the sleeve pattern could have been something with some symolism or significance for us and if we're going with the pattern then perhaps the shorts could have encorporated it too to tie in.
I'll not give a damn if we're winning games in it though.

I wish we had a slightly darker blue as I think we’ve gone too light over the years, and I prefer white shorts, but the shirt design looks really good.

Re: Home kit unveiled
Awful 'Coventry City from the late 80's' sleeves, a terrible clash to the brilliant traditional claret torso. Give the sleeves a traditional blue, white shorts and socks

Some nice kits this year. The Everton and Newcastle goalkeeper kits are awful but the worst is Tottenham away and 3rd.

I also think it’s a lot better than what Umbro have turned out for West Ham

And the less said about Villas Kappa effort the better
Best turned out PL claret and blue club next year

Re: Home kit unveiled
The pattern on the sleeves don't appear to be symmetrical. The darker shades of blue aren't in the same position on both sleeves giving , for want of a better word, wonky, appearance, maybe unbalanced....

I like the shirt. The 1st one I've been remotely tempted to buy since our 1st PL season
Re: Home kit unveiled
£60-£70 for a piece of polyester knocked up in a Vietnamese sweatshop , cost price about 50p?
And the workers in the sweatshops are paid about 30p an hour?
And you're worried about the sponsor logo?

Doesn't look good to me, those sleeves are hideous. Just looked again and wondered if Umbro had partnered with Brentford Nylons for the sleeve material?

Re: Home kit unveiled
Don’t mind the shirt, but I hate blue shorts. White shorts for me.
Re: Home kit unveiled
What's this - socks with one hoop?
We should have proper hooped socks and make them part of our kit forever to give us instant recognition in the way that our near neighbours are instantly known by their 'quartered' shirts.

Re: Home kit unveiled
May be wrong, but sure I read somewhere (in their early days of tenure) that the new owners were against having a betting company as main shirt sponsor

Re: Home kit unveiled
I'm guessing it was the "oh crap, someone has paid to be a sleeve sponsor and we've not superimposed it here" reaction.
A lot of the images we've seen don't have the sleeve sponsor but the one with Dwight does. I imagine that won't make it better for anyone who already commented that the sleeves were too busy!
Re: Home kit unveiled
Like any kit, if we have a good season in it it will become retroactively loved.
Prime example the 1991/92 Errea Endsleigh kit when we won the 4th division. It was horrible, but now universally loved.

Agree about Arsenals 3rd kit, also like Manures away kits and Saints goalie kits.
Re: Home kit unveiled
Very nice shirt. If only it had solid plain blue sleeves, that multi blue pattern looks so out of place and doesn't match the plain claret. (like they've been cut off a summer t-shirt and stuck directly to the Burnley shirt) puts me off it.
Might wait to see what the other 2 kits are like.
