Thought it was a spot the difference
Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
"No not at all, I genuinely think we will be very close to the edge and will tip over this year. I hope Dyche can work another miracle, but I don’t think he will.
I personally think Dyche will be in another job by Christmas.
Sad thoughts, but my realistic opinion."
So you've put a bet on your own club going down? Fair enough.

for all those wondering why we haven't bought early, Nixon today reporting that Palace have got Anderson for 10 (TEN) million less than they were first quoted.......
Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Obviously we've been actively looking at right sided players, such as Ashley Young etc. so I've no worries we'll get someone in.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Wed Jul 28, 2021 8:28 pmfor all those wondering why we haven't bought early, Nixon today reporting that Palace have got Anderson for 10 (TEN) million less than they were first quoted.......

Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
But we rarely buy early. so I don't see why people are surprised at our lack of activity, in fact to even get 2 in before the end of July is progress for Burnley.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Wed Jul 28, 2021 8:28 pmfor all those wondering why we haven't bought early, Nixon today reporting that Palace have got Anderson for 10 (TEN) million less than they were first quoted.......
We usually have to wait until the last week of the window, and often until the final day, we simply don't have the financial clout to get deals done early, and many players and agents will be aware that they can probably get better terms elsewhere, this is just the reality we face like it or not.
Hence why I'll refrain from judging our transfer business until the end of August, if by then we still lack a right winger, then I'll happily blast the new regime, and also the manager for failing to strengthen in a key area, but there's almost 5 weeks until the window slams shut, so let's just be patient and see what occurs.

If we cant get Dan James how about the guy underneath him at Man U Amad Diallo.
They seem to be stockpiling right wingers where as we have one.

Burnley have been named the favourites to sign Arsenal's versatile, £20m-rated man Ainsley Maitland-Niles, ahead of the likes of Crystal Palace and Wolves. The 23-year-old looks set to leave the Gunners in the pursuit of first-team football this summer. (SkyBet)

Is Niles really that good? I'm not sure he's worth 20m but I haven't seen a lot of him.

He is really good on the ball. For me this is the exact type of player we should be looking at. If he can help improve our ball retention in midfield it will be an awesome signing.
I assume he will come in to play alongside Westwood.
Also helps that he can play anywhere across the middle.

Maitland Niles can do both attacking and defending which im sure dyche likes, would be a great signing
Sure he is good enough for us if he has a contract at Arsenal right?

FAKE NEWS.....Not a chance this lad will sign for Burnley, his price is 20+ Million so a non starter straight away also he was born 12 miles away from Arsenal's ground so apart from holiday's abroad and playing away the odd game he's probably never been out of LondonClaretAL wrote: ↑Thu Jul 29, 2021 7:36 amBurnley have been named the favourites to sign Arsenal's versatile, £20m-rated man Ainsley Maitland-Niles, ahead of the likes of Crystal Palace and Wolves. Don’t know if this will happen or not, but if it did, a signing like this would show serious intent from the new owners. And also quieten several posters!

AMN looked superb his early career and got his cap but I was surprised when he went on loan to Baggies and there doesn’t appear to be great interest in him at only £20m.
I’m concerned there is a problem with him that the clubs know and we don’t.

And remember that if the likes of Leicester are interested he'll know that he's not necessarily going to be first choice, whereas he will be with us.

Makes no difference to most footballer's, they don't mind being bench warmers if they get a pay increase, look at Shaqiri at Liverpool the game is full of them
Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
No can't see him playing in a two man centre midfield, he has never done this in his career before, he will be used in the RM slot and is about as 'ideal' as it gets for us in that position IMO.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 29, 2021 8:13 amI’ve seen him play a few times for Arsenal and once I believe for England.

I fear the opposite.
All that will happen when we spend any money is people will talk about loans, MSD and funding payments to the previous regime.
You see, despite nobody having any idea how ALK plan to do or fund things, they seem to know that it will undoubtedly be debt driven etc.

I feel some fans won’t care about debt, until it’s too late!

I Imagine him scanning the menu in a restaurant with his Mrs, discussing the price of each option and why he didn’t feel it was value for money, before pulling out a pocket of vouchers he’d received with his Tesco club card

Think he is probably the best signing we could hope for. Young, Athletic and can play multiple positions. Plus a few good seasons' potential resale value.
As over have said he can play RM, RB but also has filled in at LWB.
He ticks all the boxes and if we are struggling to land other targets he may be the best option.

IF ALK can pull off the coup of AMN then that would be a true statement signing, however I'll be surprised if we'll stretch to £20m for one player, plus his wages will no doubt be pretty hefty, all that said it is a position we definitely need an upgrade in, and he would fit the bill given his utility.

He can’t be worth £20m. He was poor on loan at West Brom. Don’t know why posters think he’d be so good at rw, he wants to play cm but has performed best at rb...

Yes interestingly about 3 years ago he came out and publicly said he wants to play RM whilst at Arsenal. However since then he has come out on a number of occasions and said he wants to play CM and that’s the position he sees himself in long term. When he moved to West Brom he publicly said the main reason he went there on loan was so he could start in CM.Iloveyoubrady wrote: ↑Thu Jul 29, 2021 10:24 amHe can’t be worth £20m. If he comes I see him starting at CM but also playing apart on the right when we are short on numbers.

I've said before on this thread (somewhere) that I think Maitland-Niles would be an excellent signing for us in right mid.
However, that article by Boden really is appalling clickbait stuff. It belongs on Football Insider or Lancs Live. Nothing to hang on to there.

Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
From what I saw of West Brom after Allardyce took over he was a key part in their upturn in form. My suggestion for him to play rm for us is on the basis our wide players tend to tuck in quite frequently and he can still play central ish as well as stretch teams on the right.

Palace getting Conor Gallagher on loan now, their window been incredible so far.
Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
I will be shocked if we manage to sign AMN. Just can't see it happening.
Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
It needed to be a busy window for them, did you see how many players were out of contract and/or were ageing considerably their peak.
Time will tell whether the rebuild was timed perfectly and worked, or left a bit too late.

To be fair Macca we are Just 12 months behind palace. I said it a few months ago they will start the season with a really strong team given the amount they are investing.
