Accy Clarets contributed around £3000 towards the cost and we'll be mightily miffed if they've just been ditched!

Surely the club won't do anything without consulting the supporters groups, especially if they want to keep fans on board.

I’d say producing a player at a time we were abysmal but who went on to represent England at international competitions, win ten top flight titles, five domestic cups etc is a pretty good shout for one.

'if they need to', just about sums it up! From their apparent unwillingness to meet/communicate it certainly doesn't look as though consulting with supporters groups is one of their priorities!

As I never go to Turf Moore I haven't seen the legend boards in person but judging from the pics on this thread they look a bit crap. The idea was obviously a good one but if Mr Pace can upgrade them into a digital image then fair play to him.

If the club cant find a new place for the old ones then maybe auction them off and raise some cash for charity

Surely they should've consulted the fan groups about their plans before even removing them, I don't know how easy they are to remove without damaging so why run the risk of damaging during removal without even contacting the fan groups first.

Some positive news today:

I've had a reply from the chairman who has informed me that they are being taken down while the upgrade is being done after which they will be placed back in their original positions. Although I wouldn't have expected it to come from him, whoever is responsible at the club for the work being done should have contacted us and that would have ensured there wouldn't have been any of this concern.

I do get the impression from the correspondence I've had with the chairman that he wasn't aware of the history of these player boards.

Pleased to hear that things have been explained. Mr Pace cannot be expected to know our history in the way we do, but his pronouncements so far have referenced that history accurately on a number of occasions and it's situations like this that will hopefully help him to become more immersed in it.

I think that is part of an away trip to Burnley. You know it is a club with a bit of a history when you see them.

I've enjoyed looking at similar boards when they have appeared at other clubs grounds and take the time if I can to look at any write up that appears. Admittedly, at Bournemouth I had practically no idea who most of them were except Ted macdougall, but it sort of reminded me that it wasn't some upstart club with a new ground, but one that has been around for a century or so even if most of my memories of the place is from when we were both pants.

Several of our players of course went on to play for other clubs and that will be of added interest to fans of those clubs when they visit the Turf.

Yes they can take them down and return them. It will then be for us to decide what to do with them.

The railings to the right across from the turf as you walk from town down Harry Potts way could be a location and revamped with the help of the council plus the walling of the car park across to the left before you get to the cfs

Yes there is. It's the Supporters Liaison Officer and whilst we do have regular contact with her, unfortunately she isn't a decision maker at the club. I have always found Anita helpful but she can only direct our (usually) emailed issues to the appropriate department/person, which is not the same as having face to face dialogue with the Club's decision makers. All PL clubs should have structured lines of regular communication set up with supporters but other than the Supporters Board (which was set up a couple of years ago and even that has now possibly ceased to function) nothing else is in place. . The reason that we don't even know if it is still functioning, is that the Club has never published any information on what that group was actually doing, so in effect it was a private closed shop with no information being given to supporters. Our Supporters Group has failed up to date to get any kind of formal structured face to face (Zoom) dialogue with the Club, other than one Zoom meeting between Mr Pace and our Chairman. Anyway we carry on never the less and continue to live in hope that this will change eventually. If you want to check out an example of what other clubs have set to communicate with their supporters, then have a look on the Aston Villa or Wolves websites. PS - the Ticket Office, through Elaine, is very good at listening, communicating, sorting problems etc. for us and fans.

The black walls are not depressing. They are a modern and new look which the ground really needs. With the digital display boards up all around the place there will be plenty going on and the black walls are smart and tidy. No need for colours splashed around the place. Especially not great big claret and blue walls which look good for a year or so before they fade and just look dirty. Good move from the new board I think. The ground was in need of some basic cosmetic work.
