Ship stranded on Isle of Man

Post by Bosscat » Thu Aug 26, 2021 6:42 pm

Just seen this on Look NW

It ran aground on the beach last night (seems strange) crew not allowed to get off due to lockdown measures...

I didn't believe you, until I read it on the BBC

"The CEG Orbit was travelling from Liverpool to Belfast before it became stuck near Cranstal, trapping the crew onboard because of coronavirus restrictions."

Thats utter madness.

You can't go to the IoM unless you're double jabbed and they are obviously sticking to their guns. Good on 'em.

Capt, that's the Isle of Man off starboard bow.

Well, we'd better go and rescue him, then.

Capt, I said THE ISLE Of MAN, ffs!

Hardly… what you save in tax you pay in rent or house price
It really isn’t that much cheaper, trust me, I know

Were they using a very old map, made before the Isle of Man was discovered?

Not disagreeing Peter, but the image of The Isle of Man being some seedy tax haven is far from the truth. Walk down the streets of London and there’s probably far more questionable money there than there is here.

Doesn't it have 0% corporate tax? That's pretty tax haveny.

Perhaps it was refloated ... and then sunk without trace in deeper waters 🤔
