Not as I wish at all. I am merely highlighting that the owners can’t afford for us to be relegated

Re: Burnley v Norwich: Match thread
No but if I recall correctly we were on a fairly poor run.
And we have experienced droughts before in the PL, admittedly not to this extent, but the important thing is we keep in touch with 3/4 other teams, and hopefully finally start nicking wins against those around us, draws alone won't be enough to keep us up, so I'm not blind to the concept that we have to put wins on the board, equally I'm not going to have a meltdown just because we haven't beaten Norwich at home, disappointing though that result is, we still have 31 games left to earn enough points to survive, whether we will or not is another matter, and clearly we are in a relegation battle, but I'm wary of writing this squad off, as every time I've doubted them in the past they and the management team have proven me totally wrong.

The irony being is also I don’t think they can commit to the funding required to stay in this division, what gives?Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 02, 2021 5:40 pmNot as I wish at all. I am merely highlighting that the owners can’t afford for us to be relegated

I was referring to fact you thought I was naive. Either way, they won't sack him, even if we get relegated.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 02, 2021 5:40 pmNot as I wish at all. I am merely highlighting that the owners can’t afford for us to be relegated
Each to their own.

Re: Burnley v Norwich: Match thread
I suspect if we are in similar position by January, Dyche will be gone. As I said before they have a 200m quid investment that will effectively be worth a 1/10th of that if we are relegated.

But you can’t call for a change without a credible solution. Therefore you want a change in management so you must know there is a better alternative available to us.gandhisflipflop wrote: ↑Sat Oct 02, 2021 5:54 pmAsk Pace, not my job. Nobody would have put forward Dyches name in 2013, so your response isn’t relevant.

Re: Burnley v Norwich: Match thread
As I read the situation in July 2020 Messrs Dyche and Garlick had a huge fall out over retaining four out of contract players but principally Aaron Lennon.
I never understood then how anyone could see a PL player in Lennon, after today can anyone else?

Is it just me or do interviews like this show where a lot of the problems lie. If he thinks this is a good performance what chance do we have

I can call for change as a fan. I don’t need to offer an alternative that’s the job for the board.

It is a bit of a strange one, it’s like people don’t think there are managers out there.gandhisflipflop wrote: ↑Sat Oct 02, 2021 6:53 pmI can call for change as a fan. I don’t need to offer an alternative that’s the job for the board.
I am sure the owners already have a shortlist of managers to replace Dyche if results don’t improve

Re: Burnley v Norwich: Match thread
I'm sure that Pace has indeed a list, as Dyche may not have singed a new deal. However, they've just given him 4 years. They would have known that relegation was a possibility. They aren't going to replace him. All the negativity and constant moaning isn't going to change this.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 02, 2021 6:56 pmIt is a bit of a strange one, it’s like people don’t think there are managers out there.

Because he deserves support and loyalty for what he has done to transform our club. We've been through difficult spells several times in the past especially early in the season, yet he's turned things around.

Re: Burnley v Norwich: Match thread
Yes he has turned it around in the past, but season after season, game after game is like Groundhog Day. The thing that is very concerning this season is the losing games from winning positions, something that when we had bad spells in the past, we never seemed to do. He seems to be getting tactically outthought every game this season.
Re: Burnley v Norwich: Match thread
Fair enough. For me I believe realism is important. I doubt many or any supporters with any sense would have thought we'd have such a sustained effort in the Premier League. That's deserves loyalty and backing in my view.gandhisflipflop wrote: ↑Sat Oct 02, 2021 7:12 pmYes he has turned it around in the past, but season after season, game after game is like Groundhog Day. Nah. He would be given the chance next season and rightly so. We wouldn't pay the compensation in any case and nor should we.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 02, 2021 7:15 pmWe will see, if we are looking like relegation Dyche will be gone

Re: Burnley v Norwich: Match thread
I just can’t see an investment firm being happy with losing a massive Chunk of there investment.
The new owners have no loyalty’s for Dyche.
They will want to protect there investment at all costs
Re: Burnley v Norwich: Match thread
Wood out of form, McNeil the same. Cornet injured. Vydra also.
Should have had a pen after Krul’s impression of superman and if we score that it’s a different game.
Norwich played 3 lumps at the back, desperate to get a point. That’s hard to break down for any bottom half side.
Should have beat Brighton, should have beat Leicester, deserved something against Arsenal, probably deserved a win today.
You miserable sods either need a large glass of wine or a good shag. The season is far from over.
