A lot of sense in this Lancaster. We just have to hope that nasty, niggly toe injury doesn't flare up again if Dyche or the club decide that selling is the preferable option.Lancasterclaret wrote: ↑Mon Nov 15, 2021 6:44 pmIts a win/win for us
If he wants to earn a big contract somewhere, he'll be great for us for the rest of the season
If he wants to go in Jan, then we make some money on him rather than lose him for nothing

I think some are putting too much on it, TBH.
We have a squad which should cope with the absence of any individual player.

One lesson we must take from this is that we make sure we sell in future rather than lose our best players on frees

Tarks is crucial for us staying up. He is probably one of 4 players that is critical to our teamboatshed bill wrote: ↑Mon Nov 15, 2021 6:53 pmI think some are putting too much on it, TBH.

Re: How Much Will We Get For Tarks?
It's a judgment call. I think this one will be made, very narrowly, on the side of selling him in January.Lancasterclaret wrote: ↑Mon Nov 15, 2021 6:54 pmOne lesson we must take from this is that we make sure we sell in future rather than lose our best players on frees
If a single club are in for him it probably won't be worth it. If we can spark a bidding war it might (I think) be tempting enough.
There's an element of risk but unlike last season we've got a replacement at the ready.

With the unacceptable position we were put in by Garlick in the last 2 seasons of his tenure I don’t see how we could take in any lessons by not selling TarkowskiLancasterclaret wrote: ↑Mon Nov 15, 2021 6:54 pmOne lesson we must take from this is that we make sure we sell in future rather than lose our best players on frees

Of course we are and the idea of selling Tarkowski during that period is barmy

Re: How Much Will We Get For Tarks?
Absolutely no chance we could have sold JT in recent years with the levels of investment we were receiving.
As for January, it’s not really our choice, is it? He’s in complete control of his future and I can’t see why he’d want to go anywhere for a fee when he could pocket said sums for himself in six months time. Nor do I think it would be in our interests to take a fraction of his true value whilst we’re so close to the relegation zone (that costs £50m in revenue).

You have to hope there is a chance for him.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Mon Nov 15, 2021 3:47 pmhe's 29, this World Cup is his last chance - if West Ham or Spurs come in for him he will be advised to move and more than likely he will be picked for England because that's what Southgate does with "big team" players. If he leaves it until the summer there is no chance of Qatar for him imho.
Other than financial I don't see the point in him going to Newcastle
Personally, I think he has two.
Bob Hope and No Hope.

Re: How Much Will We Get For Tarks?
Unless you're a team like Leicester.
Re: How Much Will We Get For Tarks?
Just read somewhere that the club will not sell Tarks
in January but I suppose if someone came in with a biggish bid
(say 20m) then they might have a rethink especially if Tarks
says he wants to go and threatens to down tools.
Would they risk keeping him if he's not happy staying?

And then there's the risk of his toe flaring up again.
I think he'll get sold.
I think he'll get sold.
Re: How Much Will We Get For Tarks?
Yes, it seems he will stay until the summer. As well as this sounding like the club's position, it was said months ago that Tarkowski had indicated he would see out his contract.jurek wrote: ↑Tue Nov 16, 2021 12:58 pmJust read somewhere that the club will not sell Tarks

If such reports are to be believed, you would imagine it would take a significant event for both parties to agree that he will leave in January.

Re: How Much Will We Get For Tarks?
It's very unlikely he'll depart in January and he certainly won't 'down tools'.
Re: How Much Will We Get For Tarks?
Ogbonna at WHU out for the season with an ACL.
Can really see them coming in for Tarks.
