Calder vale

Where exactly was the ground where we first played? Can you imagine if we had never moved to turf moor and stayed at Calder vale?

This topic came up not that long ago. The original Calder Vale home of BFC was situated on land at the back of the new Burnley College on the far side of the railway viaduct. The fact that the current rugby club used to be known as Belvedere & Calder Vale is confusing and leads people to think it was up that way, but it wasn't.
The mill which stood on the land where The Range is situated was called Calder Vale Mill and was close, but as stated the footy pitch was on the other side of the railway.
