A bit of a change up for the forum for a change
What's the longest you've gone without a broadband or TV service due to a fault?
Currently on day 27 and 5 engineer visits later and still don't have service.
Please share your stories to make me feel better, cheers!

You are in my thoughts and prayers in this most difficult of times ClaretAndJew!
That's shoddy service tbh, hope it gets resolved quickly for you.
Yeah, so we don't really "need" broadband to live and exist but in the modern world it really does help, doesn't it?

PS The longest I've gone without good wifi internet access in the past 15-20 years is probably a month when I moved into my current studio but I had access via work and mobile reception.

A few years ago my internet completely dropped out. I was completely stuck. You don’t realise how much you rely on and take such a modern invention for granted. After about 30-40 seconds without access I went downstairs and restarted the router. Not gonna lie, the tension was pretty palpable for the following 90 seconds as the router rebooted, but by some act of god full internet access was restored.

A local farmer cut through the telephone line(broadband) with his fork lift. We had 10 days of going down to the local cafe every few days just to catch up. On the plus side the coffee was excellent.

Fault - not very long. Maybe a few hours.
When I moved to a new build it took 5 days to get the internet sorted. It had no tv aerial either - I can't remember when the Sky man came, prolly after a week.
27 days and I'd be going mad!

Longest was with BT where I never got broadband. They started charging me from the day I was supposed to have it but it never worked. After a month I said I need to move to Virgin if you can’t give me broadband. So they decide to try and charge me for leaving my contract early I will never use BT again.

If it helps at all CandJ my sister has had about four engineers turn up over the last month, not one with the kit or skill set to rectify it… we’re at about six weeks and counting. Quality care from BT folks, my sister is profoundly deaf and relies on access to FaceTime her mum.
… so you aren’t alone, p.s. she’s in Waterfoot not the highlands of Scotland.
