Some of the suggested line ups on here don’t excite me much. The team sheet is beginning to look very tired.

Re: The Team and Gate v Huddersfield
It's not just the potential team sheet. Have you seen the forecast for tomorrow. There's a good chance it's that that will stop me going as I have a half mile walk to get a bus. I don't want to get soaked, then have to sit through at least 90 mins of what will probably be dire football.

Re: The Team and Gate v Huddersfield
I know the club never tells us anything, but does anyone else know which of our U23s are currently injured, and how long is it since they each last played.
We do seem to have a far higher percentage of injuries (incurred at the training ground), than most other clubs. It might be an idea to get a priest to exorcise Barnfield. Either that or change the training system.

Re: The Team and Gate v Huddersfield
Since Wood is the only striker likely to score a goal in the PL (in the absence of Cornet) not worth risking him in a competition way down on our list of priorities at the moment, especially with Vydra seemingly sidelined to a bit part role due to groin/hernia concerns.

Re: The Team and Gate v Huddersfield
Obviously we don't know who's going to be available (just been listening to Ian Woan's press conference, where he came over really well, IMO) so:
Norris,
Bardsley, Collins, Thomas, Pieters,
Lennon, Stephens, Cork, McNeil,
Rodriguez, Vydra

Re: The Team and Gate v Huddersfield
Makes complete sense to feature (in some capacity) the following:
Max Thompson
Anthony Gomez-Mancini
Anthony Drsicoll-Glennan
Bobby Thomas
Anyone know what the deal is with ever underutilised Lewis Richardson?

Gomez mancini is back fit I believe so could feature.
Glennon is on loan with barrow.
Bobby Thomas could feature he was on the bench recently.
Richardson is out injured for the foreseeable

I’d expect Stephens to start tomorrow. No idea who is now down with covid but I suspect we could have a few new faces on the bench.

Believed the Max Thompson one was due to a straight red he received.
Been very little news on Richardson for some time now.

Sorry about this, but...kentonclaret wrote: ↑Fri Jan 07, 2022 3:52 pmSince Wood is the only striker likely to score a goal in the PL (in the absence of Cornet) not worth risking him in a competition way down on our list of priorities at the moment

I'm 56 years of age, slightly overweight, drink a little more than I should and exercise considerably less than I should, I'm not even in the squad, but I'm more likely to score a goal for Burnley in the PL than Wood at the moment.
He has been absolutely SHOCKING so far this season, and his body language on the pitch lately would be enough for me to rather start the game with ten men.
There is something rotten in the state of Denmark.

Unfortunately Thompson seems to have not progressed as most would like, he usually starts on the bench.DycheAlmighty wrote: ↑Fri Jan 07, 2022 9:51 pmAh must have missed that Glennon loan, only just gone through?

Glennon went through today.
Only going of rumours as the club hasn’t confirmed anything, but the suggestion is it’s a long term injury.

Such a shame. We get a taste for these younger faces in preseason and then they don't make a depleted bench.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 07, 2022 9:58 pmUnfortunately Thompson seems to have not progressed as most would like, he usually starts on the bench.

Like most fans, I don't have the time to watch the u23's play regularly, but I would love to see some more involvement. Even just for the bench experience.

Probably rubbish, but the suggestion is Dodgeson and Tucker will have some involvement tomorrow. Might be two to keep an eye on.DycheAlmighty wrote: ↑Fri Jan 07, 2022 10:06 pmSuch a shame. We get a taste for these younger faces in preseason and then they don't make a depleted bench.

You must mean feature on the bench. At the very most.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 07, 2022 10:10 pmProbably rubbish, but the suggestion is Dodgeson and Tucker will have some involvement tomorrow. Might be two to keep an eye on.

Re: The Team and Gate v Huddersfield
I say play the same team as the Leeds game
Then we will find out which players want to play for Burnley the rest of the season
After watching the Leeds game, players on that field didn’t look interested in helping us stay in the Prem

And why would they not be interested in us/them staying in the Prem???California Colner wrote: ↑Fri Jan 07, 2022 11:15 pmI say play the same team as the Leeds game

Re: The Team and Gate v Huddersfield
I think some folk just look through the under 23 squad and see which line up they can suggest to be controversial, I’d be fuming if we played more from our under 23 squad than first team against a side sat 6th in the championship
