come on Alan…get Eriksen signed on loan!

Pep wouldn't need to worry about that considering where he would be sat for every game...
It's the hope that it's not some dreamed up rubbish inside someones head!
Should say woan'salwaysaclaret wrote: ↑Sat Jan 08, 2022 11:08 amFlicking through the online news channels it doesn't even look like we're remotely interested in signing anyone, and listening to woman's press doesn't fill you with any confidence either, "well we have covid case's and we're down to the bare bones but we'll carry on regardless cos that's what Burnley do" was he's summing up of the situation, and whilst we absolutely don't need any further postponements due to the virus, it's the manner in which he's said it. Baffling !!!
Have to get his best mate Hennessey to have a word.Mala591 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 08, 2022 12:16 pmGareth Bale must be bored to death sitting on his arse in Spain. Offer him £60k a week (Real Madrid pay the rest of his weekly salary) and he gets guaranteed PL football every week.
Gareth gets a game, Real Madrid save £60k a week. What’s the problem?
Come on Alan get on that phone!
I think Gareth quite enjoys the Madrid golf courses playing in 65 degrees in the winter though.Steve-Harpers-perm wrote: ↑Sat Jan 08, 2022 12:31 pmHave to get his best mate Hennessey to have a word.

Don't think he'd swap that for Burnley golf club in the snow and ice somehow..
It doesn’t make any difference to the outcome.jackmiggins wrote: ↑Sun Jan 09, 2022 10:14 amWhat difference does it really make? Let’s face it, no one at the club will tell all and sundry what they are planning/negotiating in the transfer market - quite rightly.
You do wonder what our recruitment team are doing.warksclaret wrote: ↑Sun Jan 09, 2022 10:53 amThe under currents I am receiving is that in the space of a month or so the talk has gone from buying to loaning new players. Maybe the reality of relegation for Alan Pace has become more of a factor in that time and caused a mood change. Watching some of the Cup games yesterday, and indeed our very own v Huddersfield, has just gone to show there is talent in the majority of Championship sides that would improve our starting 11. Nearer to home Collins from League 1 has proved the point. Huddersfield is what 30 minutes from Burnley ??, and it took a defeat by them to realise they have a number of outstanding players-so what are our recruitment team people doing. We will no doubt have several hundred posts on the likelihood of Fulgini joining us. Its not going to happen-he only has to look at our league position and You-tube us.Lets trawl the Championship and League 1, because Burnley to these prospects is still an aspiration, more so than it is to a promising young French footballer who may not want to leave his country
Woodley-just been watching an old FOOLS & Horses and Del Boy has just come out with "he who dares wins". We sadly wait until these prospects become higher profile then can't afford them. Bowen is an example. How often have O'Brien and Jason Knight featured under this topic ??Woodleyclaret wrote: ↑Sun Jan 09, 2022 11:01 amSpot on Warks
I have previously got panned for suggesting signing players from lower leagues as they are not fit for purpose
John Swift at Reading was one, suddenly others have seen his potential
Our scouts seem to be way behind the curve
When Josh Brownhill signed from Bristol they had a flying winger playing well then he left for a very low fee to play in Greece
Closer to home Nat Phillips is available quotes in the region of £10m have been mentioned but still we dither re incoming players
As I mentioned weeks ago, it wouldn't have surprised me if we were waiting until after the Leeds game to see where we were at, then planned from there.warksclaret wrote: ↑Sun Jan 09, 2022 10:53 amThe under currents I am receiving is that in the space of a month or so the talk has gone from buying to loaning new players. Maybe they can but then they don’t pass Dyche’s personality quiz?Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 09, 2022 11:07 amYou do wonder what our recruitment team are doing.
I have mentioned on threads Johnson when he was at Lincoln. He’s now looking at a 20m quid move to Southampton.
I did a post about Sorba Thomas, he then tore our team apart in about 30 mins yesterday.
If a “clown” on a messageboard can see players like that why can’t our recruitment team.
Both these post's absolutely spot on, I also spotted bowen, swift etc, another is jed Wallace, and now Ross Stewart at Sunderland is showing signs, but it's unbelievably naive of a club of our stature not to notice and act on player's like these. At the end of the day we're in the Premier league and these types of player shouldn't be beyond the realms of possibilities to sign, we're clearly not in the market for £50m players but these types shouldn't be beyond us. Dyche in my opinion is looking for players he's never going to find, so clearly he needs to adapt and take a gamble now and then.warksclaret wrote: ↑Sun Jan 09, 2022 11:07 amWoodley-just been watching an old FOOLS & Horses and Del Boy has just come out with "he who dares wins". Agreed, we’ve 10 other lads doing all the graft (or at least we used to) surely we can afford to let Cornet just play!warksclaret wrote: ↑Sun Jan 09, 2022 11:33 amTheres only one framework Cornet needs to know and there is one of each at both ends of the pitch. He has already shown he understands the framework-it happened in his first start
So consequently do we stick or twist with dyche, there's good argument with both, with the present tactics and player's I feel we're definitely relegated, so who's best to bring us back, yes there's good argument to stick with him cos he's done it before, on yesterday's performance at least, the players we have are simply not good enough, so then we need new, so is dyche the one going forward given he's current idea's and "framework"arise_sir_charge wrote: ↑Sun Jan 09, 2022 11:27 amDyche is far too rigid in what he wants.
When we sign someone like Cornet it’s as though it goes against all his natural instincts, he even talks openly about such players having to learn about the framework etc.
I will drive him there!NewClaret wrote: ↑Sun Jan 09, 2022 11:53 amNewcastle hoping to sign Wood this week:

So will II will drive him there!
Might be worth selling him now well his value is still reasonably high, he's one of the 30+ bracket, and only has 18 months left on his contract.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 09, 2022 11:48 amNewcastle eye the signing of Chris Wood.

In a deal that brings Hendrick back here probably !NewClaret wrote: ↑Sun Jan 09, 2022 11:53 amNewcastle hoping to sign Wood this week:

He’s been woeful this season but selling him would only make sense if we had someone in the door first.
Really tough one this because on the one hand I don’t think he’s getting the service he used to. Our problems lie in midfield and creating quality chances. He’s also our only proven goal scorer at this level so it doesn’t immediately feel like a good move for us to sell him in a delegation relegation rival. I’m not sure I could take it if he scored to send us down on the last day…tiger76 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 09, 2022 11:57 amMight be worth selling him now well his value is still reasonably high, he's one of the 30+ bracket, and only has 18 months left on his contract.
And if we could source a couple of younger strikers who we could then hone, I'd seriously consider letting him go.
I agree it is a tough one, but IF selling Wood allows us to generate the necessary funds to bring in a quality CM, and a replacement striker, we have to think about it at least, as the present squad Cornet excepted has become increasingly stale, and it needs freshening up one way another.NewClaret wrote: ↑Sun Jan 09, 2022 12:09 pmReally tough one this because on the one hand I don’t think he’s getting the service he used to. Having said that, he’s one of the ones that looks disinterested and if he stayed I could see him being dropped, so if it’s a case of him sitting on our bench or getting some money to invest this window, do you take it?
