You obviously don’t like the term Happy clappers
How do you feel about the term drama queens ?
I think it's pathetic when so called supporters feel the need to use childish phrases aimed at other supporters

Not on behalf of me either. The best manager we've had for decades. We're now, inevitably, suffering from the lack of investment over the last few years so Rigg could squeeze every last drop of blood out of the club
So it's Rigg's fault now

Who signed these players then?
They have been excellent for us, but their race is run.

Some are too old, some just don’t care anymore. Dyche is going to be partly to blame for that, but Garlick not funding the rebuild that was clearly needed is far more culpable.

Dyche has done rebuilds here before with tremendous success. After we got relegated we lost Danny Ings, Kieran Trippier and Jason Shackell - three outstanding players for us. One our captain, one our goal scorer, the other our best player.

We replaced them and won the league. Dyche is the man to do this again. Get the wasters out.

I think they should certainly be asking serious questions of Dyche and his team right now.

Thing is what exactly is our problem? Manager? tactics? lack of previous spending? Coaching? Old players? Commitment? Confidence?

It feels like evrrything, how can you fix everything?

Well he’s going to have a decision to make one way or another, because despite what Pace says publicly relegation will be absolutely catastrophic for us.
He'll still have his hospitality side to fall back on though

This.

I thought we looked decent last season when Jack Cork came back in but hrs struggling to last 90 this season - similarly the time is beckoning for some others - Ash and Jay are really struggling to provide any real competition for Woody who is struggling this season and clearly both our centre backs are struggling to stay focused/committed.

It's the thick on of the thin wedge started a couple of years ago when Garlick decided to sell up and do the bare minimum to stay up to keep his asset looking rosy.

Why on earth would I want to be in his shoes? He’s presided over this period, given out the contracts or not. I’d prefer to let him get on with it.

I don't want Dyche sacked, but I DO want Alan P to get not just one cheque book out, but two, because if he doesn't speculate and gamble NOW, he's going to lose a bloody fortune.

I look back on the time of the "Adamson out" era and the players we had when he was ousted and , with hindsight,
see it as a crying shame that he was sacked.

But now that we have a more solid foundation I'm not altogether concerned that a change of manager would be as seismic an event as it was back then.

Plus things can get a bit stale and 10 years is a damned good run.

Tough one really. Just look what happened at Ewood when Big Sam was kicked out.

Good post.

Would Dyche want to go back to the Championship, and would the Board wish to keep him, taking into account the style of football?

But I agree that some players just don’t care. The first thing I would do tomorrow is try and flog Tarkowski to Newcastle, for whatever we can get.

He doesn’t want to be here, and we have a ready made replacement in Collins. Then use the money to fund a loan move for an attacking midfielder.

That’s all well and good, and ordinarily I would agree. My real concern, and why I think this time is different to any other difficult spell under Dyche, is the very apparent lack of belief from the players.

The whole ‘legs, hearts, minds’ mantra has gone. Completely.

I will always support Dyche for as long as he is here, but I just wonder if this is the beginning of the end.
Or the new beginning.

Time to start the rebuild now if we can, but Dyche has more than earned a chance to bring this team back from the brink.

I honestly think if we go down Dyche will respectfully tender his resignation. Whether it's accepted and whether it should be is a very different question. Personally, right now, I'd turn it down and get him to stay, but it's a tough one and getting tougher tbf.

I honestly believe all is not YET lost as other clubs are in the poo too and despite us winning just once, we're by no means adrift. However, January is our last chance saloon and some serious TARGETED spending (yes gambling I admit) could turn things in our favour, but somebody there has to be bold and brave and take a chance or two.

We’d all like this magical fantasy land to exist Ian, but you can’t ignore what we’re witnessing. To be clear, I WISH I still had the belief you have, I envy it genuinely. Mine has gone.

Aside from pure wish and prayer, what on Earth can make any of us think that Tarkowski, Mee, Westwood and Wood (to name four) are suddenly going to start playing like it’s 2017-2020 again? One win in 26 league games, barely having a shot on goal let alone scoring, struggling to keep clean sheets, getting convincingly beaten by a second tier teams second string (at home).

Spending big bucks on 2-3 players this window may not keep us up, and could just exacerbate the financial issues awaiting us if we get relegated. That’s the other huge conundrum.

Ian, we really weren't "doing very well". We were in the bottom three with one win all season and that's not doing very well, no matter how many plucky draws you throw in.

Sorry but your miles off. we have won 1 game all season and been woeful throughout 2021.we are currently the worst performing team in the professional football pyramid. If you class that are doing very well then your definition is way off to everyone else.

We played some seriously good football in the Championship and scored boat loads of goals. If he had backing to build a team that could continue that style back in the PL then I would be absolutely buzzing

When Dyche changes his tactics and the 3 new summer signings start regularly I’m confident that the mood will change for the better. Hopefully it will happen before it’s too late.

A month ago, pre snow and covid for others, we were doing very well. Best to remember and cheer on, rather than moan about things not fully understood.
I know exactly what you are saying Ian and ignore the smart replies

He said we were doing very well but that very well still had us 18th in the table with just one win.

Thank you Elizabeth.

Everything has to be in context and after a dreadful start, we were clawing our way back with a hard to beat approach and commitment from the team. Unbeaten in several matches etc.

We were still 18th because, at the peak of this period, we were snowed off and then conned off. No matches for a 4 match period and then all close together and now covid.

Recipe for failure, engineered by circumstance and others playing the system.

Our squad can sort this, without doubt. All we need to do is stop sniping and get behind them and the management.

Up the Clarets
