Might be seen as a successful window by the Manager just to keep what we have. After all these are his players that he trusts. Might be seen as a successful window by the Chairman just to offload some high earners if we are going to wave the white flag already and sleep walk to relegation. Lyndon Dykes mentioned in relation to Burnley, but also many other clubs.

Queens Park Rangers striker Lyndon Dykes has attracted the interest of a number of Premier League clubs, including Newcastle, Burnley, Crystal Palace and Norwich City. Scottish champions Rangers and English Championship leaders Bournemouth are also said to keen on the 26-year-old Australian-born Scotland international.

Wouldn't be a bad shout, especially if Wood is heading to Newcastle.

I don’t understand Newcastle. They have the money to buy premium players. Better than Wood, Mee or Tarkowski !

Premium players will even be having second thoughts about going to Newcastle given their current position

So what chance have we got in getting even any half decent players in

The likes of Swift, Wallace or Dykes are not going to save us from relegation and if that happens there will no doubt be better deals to do in the summer - these would be real panic buys

Loans seem to be the best option to me

Players may be happy to come for some game time to put themselves in the shop window, whilst not committing to a side that is one of the favourites to go down

It was suggested that Wood's agent had offered him to Newcastle. I suspect every agent on the planet has been offering their players to Newcastle recently. Leaking this particular approach is to their advantage.

The way I read it is that’s there’s a clause in woods contract if Newcastle offered a certain amount & wood wanted to go we wouldn’t be able to stop that, so it’d be out of our hands whether we wanted him to go or not.

I could understand Matt Richie, at a push but I really don’t get the obsession with Dwight Gayle; we looked at him years ago… he has done little since.

If Wood wants to go, he goes; that it is even being suggested should redouble our attempts to bring in new faces… not chase players we wanted five years+ ago.
