Re: Talk sport this morning
What I like about Simon Jordan is that he is very knowledgeable on running a football club (first hand), and cuts through all the crap. He has a series of questions for the owners and apparently Alan Pace refused to come on air to clarify matters. Sounds like the problems in the club are every much as bad as on the field

Re: Talk sport this morning
I dont listen to Talk Sport, are they discussing how Mr Pace is cornering the US and world markets with his marketing strategy to send Burnley's revenue streams through the roof? If so I hope they question why its taking so long as from reading this board last year it sounded like it would be a piece of p*ss
Re: Talk sport this morning
Silence is deafening, has Pace even addressed anything about Wood leaving?
I'm not sure why fans like Sidney were so happy with the way this takeover was structured, incredibly detrimental to our finances, sucking finance out of the club to finance ALK debts, was an incredible risk.
Using the clubs TV money income and finance from selling players (who were here before ALK arrived) is a disgusting filthy way to takeover a club.
Simon Jordan just ripped them apart, ALK refused to show up and be interviewed.

Re: Talk sport this morning
Those who were arguing for the takeover structure were arguing for the sake of arguing or incredibly delusional how we were gonna commercially take over the world and sell millions of shirts in Uganda and become billionaires off Twitter likes and followers.

It's extremely rare for club owners to make an appearance on talksport, so this isn't a shock that Pace, or anyone else from the club, has declined to appear.warksclaret wrote: ↑Thu Jan 20, 2022 10:52 amWhat I like about Simon Jordan is that he is very knowledgeable on running a football club (first hand), and cuts through all the crap. Given his weird stance that he isn't sure that Boris tells lies because he hasn't lied directly to him can only presume ALK bought jakubs business and then he didn't get paid but lost his business.

So much rubbish spouted on here & is getting worse, the issue with Pace not talking about the deal is 99% likely to be part of the deal, lenders & buyers insert these demands into agreements for future business dealings, i can speak from experience & have been part of a team on 2 large business deals. As for Talksport spouting hot air to fill airtime & the legend in his own brew time Jordan i refer you again to Kieran McGuire & his view on the deal, he has commented more than once that the deal is one of the better ones in Football & how savvy ALK are in dealing with finance.

Jordan probably wishes he is as clued up as he thinks he is, that way he wouldn't have blown all on money at Palace in a time when football was much more in control of finance

That’s even more reason to listen to him though he’s made the mistake others haven’t made or are in the process of making. Jordan is telling us how it is with ALK & the takeover but some of the fans want to pretend different.claretonthecoast1882 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 20, 2022 11:49 amJordan probably wishes he is as clued up as he thinks he is, that way he wouldn't have blown all on money at Palace in a time when football was much more in control of finance
Re: Talk sport this morning
Sorry I think Simon Jordan knows more about owning a football club than you. I highly doubt Kieran Mcguire would claim a leveraged takeover with the amount of risk associated with it was one of the better deals in football.Stockbrokerbelt wrote: ↑Thu Jan 20, 2022 11:47 amSo much rubbish spouted on here & is getting worse, the issue with Pace not talking about the deal is 99% likely to be part of the deal, lenders & buyers insert these demands into agreements for future business dealings, i can speak from experience & have been part of a team on 2 large business deals. Yes but you were outraged by the rubbish they were coming out with!
No business owner is going to discuss their business in any depth with these clowns. I’m amazed anyone would take them seriously.

Re: Talk sport this morning
Two things come to mind;
1) I hope Pace has better things to occupy himself with in a critical transfer window for the club than getting a panning by appearing on Talksport
2) This subject isn't going to go away, so if Talksport waited till next month, they might also be able to give the owners a grilling about where the money is going -if we don't spend the Wood windfall on new players

I’d accept no lectures on running a football club from Simon Jordan if I were Alan Pace.
Jordan’s been the Chairman of one football club and he took that club to the brink of extinction.

Re: Talk sport this morning
It’s a failure by everyone really.
Mike Garlic didn’t care what he sold us into, as long as he got to take all the clubs money with him, he will have known the many risks attached, but he chose to underinvest so he could take the money as part of a leveraged deal, thus leaving us in this position.
FA agree for someone with no money to purchase and operate a Premier League Club. Bizarre.
Can’t really blame Pace, if you’re buying something you get it for the least amount of money that you can, in any walk of life, which is all he has done, but now he has to deliver a sustainable business model which seems increasingly unlikely given our likely league next season, and the fact many fans are becoming more disengaged by the week, in a season where interest and attendances are well down on previous years.

Re: Talk sport this morning
I find it incredible that Burnley fans would want Pace to appear on talk sport with less than two weeks of the transfer window open.
There are questions other than finance; a badgering about who you after? How much is there to spend etc etc.
I am hoping 1- Pace is far too busy trying to get signings in. 2- Pace has more sense than to voluntarily put himself into a position where he may be manoeuvred into disclosing information that would be useful to our rivals.
This is just another opportunity to destabilise the work being done, it serves absolutely no interest for Burnley fans for Pace to be discussing our business to a national broadcaster. I think he has once again showed that he did not come down in the last shower as a businessman. “We’ll let you know when we are ready”, is a far better system. Just hope we hear a little something from him today and Pace will have played it dead right.
