I only have the same information as everyone else out there that journalists are saying.Gordaleman wrote: ↑Sat Jan 29, 2022 10:38 amAnd you know exactly what happened here do you? If so, you're the only one.
Alan Pace flew to Zagreb himself to try and get this over the line, so don't blame him.
Even you must be concerned that it took 6 days to negotiate a £7m deal that ended in failure.
6 days for a small deal when we have just had 25m given to us upfront.

Yes, that's true.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sat Jan 29, 2022 11:06 amDinamo would look pretty silly if they allowed a deal to go through now after this morning’s announcement.
However, maybe the extra dosh would no doubt be some compensation for their embarrassment.
They'd get over it.

Lancs Live understands the deal was pretty much finalised, including a fee, but the player had a change of heart.
If that is true he must surely have been nobbled by the Ultras?

If the player had a change of heart you would have thought the statement would reflect that, it reads more like the club wouldn’t let him go.

No signing is in the bag until it’s done but I was of the opinion that this one was all but done. I’ve posted previously today that this morning’s announcement from Dinamo has amazed me given what I’d been told.Jakubclaret wrote: ↑Sat Jan 29, 2022 11:59 amSome of the more naive posters thought orsic was in the bag let’s wait & see what actually happens & believe in twitter less & believe in reality more.
Doesn’t make me naive at all though. I was getting information from trusted sources. I believe those sources are as amazed as I am today.
Re: January 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Are players not ever allowed to leave DZ?
Are these bad blue boys really so terrifying?
Maybe there's a less dramatic emotional and more mundane explanation for what's gone on.

But not once was it ever reported we had agreed a fee.
I'm sure it will all come out.
2 and a half days left. Please be quicker Alan.

Not rocket science. Club had a change of heart due to fan pressure and the risk of losing Champions League dosh. Player must be gutted, but he won’t make a fuss when he’s a international playing for the same fans.
The crux here is do we have a plan B. Persuading Man U to give us Lingard for 5 months would be brilliant, ditto Ramsay. A player in the hole could mean a stronger midfield and Cornet out wide (Dyche worries about tracking back but we are reaching a point where at home as a minimum we need attacking power). So we shall see.

Just for my own clarity - if a fee had been agreed and we were therefore at contract stage, could DZ still back out, or is the acceptance of the fee a contract in and of itself?

Anyone can back out at any stage. If we look back a few years we had both Dorrans and Lansbury sat at the Turf with everything agreed and then their respective clubs pulling the plug.duncandisorderly wrote: ↑Sat Jan 29, 2022 12:18 pmJust for my own clarity - if a fee had been agreed and we were therefore at contract stage, could DZ still back out, or is the acceptance of the fee a contract in and of itself?

Is the consensus now that the Wout signing is the one ‘likely’ one and the other potential (although I think to most people viewed as a real long shot) is Ramsey?

Mind you CT it was worth the wait, Frank Casper was a great signing for us. Signing a player of his ilk would go down well this weekend. I expect Mr Pace will be a busy man.

That’s very true I won’t argue with any of that but facts are facts & there’s a debt outstanding in him put it this way if we wasn’t to honour that debt we would be chased for the money & legal action would be forthcoming.

The more info that comes out, the more its obvious that BFC couldn't do anything else
it happens sadly
Course, if you are in the habit of blaming BFC and the board for everything, then you won't believe it, but to be honest, no one really cares if you do or don't as blaming BFC and the board for everything tends to be a bit wearying to read after a while

One small positive is that this has happened on Saturday morning and not Monday morning.
Alan will keep chipping away and we'll see where we are on Monday night, hopefully far stronger than we are now.

He’s contracted to DZ, this is on them.
I hope he stubs his toe tonight and can’t play tomorrow or better still bangs in an OG from 30yds.
I’d still have him in Summer, he’s a player.
I’m in Zagreb in May I'll pop round and have a word.

I’m sure Alan has suffered from several break downs in large deals throughout his career on Wall Street and by nature won’t be a quitter. I still have faith.

In the final stages of a transfer then I presume a contract is also signed between the two clubs agreeing to the fees and what not.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sat Jan 29, 2022 12:20 pmAnyone can back out at any stage. So its entirely possible that Osric had signed a contract with us and then had the rug pulled from under him by his own chairman.
