The only person you could really hear that from is Orsic himself.
I think what you mean is that it's been wildly speculated that he's received death threats.
My gut feeling leaned towards this as soon as it was reported there were ultras outside his house.
Call me cynical but with rentamob businesses like Crowds On Demand, and the sheer number of dodgy owners and dirty deals in big money clubs these days, no amount of corruption or intimidation would surprise me.
Weghorst does represent a significant upgrade on Wood in my view (albeit PL unproven as of yet), but swapping a proven scorer for an ostensibly better player is still a pretty poor window all in all when we have 2 strikers injured, 1 out of form and 1 who's a winger really leaving us little cover. If we had Weghorst and still had Wood, that's more encouraging (out of form or not Wood can get goals, he went on a tear late last season). But that still would lack crucial midfield strengthening.
I think even if unrealistic it is not unreasonable for a 1 win team at the bottom of the league to want 1-2 CMs, a winger/attacking mid and 1-2 strikers even in the tough January window. All 5 is beyond us but a few days ago 3 seemed possible and exactly what we need.
There's a lot of negative posters out for attention or having a pop, but insipid positivity and uncritical "theyre doing their best" is as bad as being impossible to please. There's been some deeply odd takes like fans not being allowed to have any expectations. The previous board didn't get judged on trying their best, nor should they, and nor should this. It's a tight end position now and results are all that matter.
I'm hopeful but far from optimistic now. I'd love to be wrong- and that's the other problem. Too many posters are more interested in being right about the club's competence and willingness or lack thereof in the market, than about the best outcome. If we pull off the deals we need the moaners should walk it all back, if all we get is Weghorst then as much as I rate him I don't know that it's enough and the blind faith posters will be hard pressed to explain. Either way focus on rallying round the team rather than winning a debate on a bloody message board.
