ooo Roberts back for Lowton. Good move IMO, we need to be far more offensive this game.

I’d guessed it might be Helm on the bench

Strong bench - give Costelloe 40 minutes when we are 4-0 up.

I’m yet to see much evidence of him being any more of an offensive threat than Lowton. Defensively, he’s looked to be lacking. Hopefully he starts to show some of his Wales form.

Tony if I’m not mistaken this is the young lad that came in as a winger but has done well as a striker this season?

I guess it's about perception, but for me Roberts plays a more advanced role than Lowton, including his WW assist. He is far more mobile, getting up and down the pitch more than Lowts. That said, defensively he is lacking in comparison to Lowton, but hopefully tonight we will be more positive in our play.

Any chance at some point you can do an article on the youngsters, how they are doing, and what we may be able to expect from them? Or has this been done already?

Fancy Jay against a former side tonight. Would have preferred Lowton but not sure he looks fit enough at the minute.

hope he gets forward, IMO essential since we have two left-footed wingers starting.

I am not a massive fan of Vydra as a rule but aren’t Southampton one of the few clubs he has scored against?
A front three of Vydra Wout and Jayrod might have been fun with Cornet McNeil and Brownhill in midfield

Fun for the opposition attackers. Cornet and McNeil would not make up the most competent of midfields.

Again a good pre match interview by Jackson.

Sound calm & collected, and I think the group has taken to him even if it is only short term.

I feel we will give it a good shot tonight, although Southampton are very much an improved collective.

Here's a shout for three massive points:

UTC !!

From what I recall of a recent game against Saints Kyle Walker-Peters was their weak spot.

Not really thrilled with that change in honesty. Would much rather Lowton in and Cornet on the right so he has someone reserved enough behind him to cover if Southampton break. Hopefully I'm wrong and it pays off.

I’m relying on this thread to get me through the game

Currently crossing the North Sea to Amsterdam and don’t have a good enough signal to stream the game and there’s no Sky Sports on the ferry 😫

The build up to the game on R5 live so far has been interesting: some Manc whining on about Ten Haag. As if there won’t be hours of air time spent on this topic.
