Is there any point upsetting the applecart anymore between now and the end of the season ? Not sure what anyone else will add to that display in such a short space of time

Leave it as it is no need to formalise anything for now, the lads are enjoying their football again without the rigid framework, we actually look like proper footballers again

He certainly has the swagger, and once again we played some good stuff with plenty of possession.

Re: Mike Jackson
4/6 points gained, and could have been 6, and the boys actually look like they are enjoying themselves, and I don't know about anyone else, but if you enjoy your work you're more likely to be productive.
I see no reason why he shouldn't be given the reins for the next 6 games, we're now on a roll, and any new manager might disrupt what he's doing.

The Wolves game will be a big indicator for what the right thing to do is. A win would be 7 from 9 and you can't change that.

I wouldn’t change something that’s working the situation we are in, he’s obviously got something about him & the players are responding to him.

3 words used more then twice during the after match interview with Collins and Roberts "enjoying our football" and also the impression that the players have now been given more freedom. Certainly showed in Dwight's performance tonight.
Excellent performance from the players all round.

Re: Mike Jackson
I agree.
I feel we have to beat Wolves to have a chance to stay up, but even if we fail to do so, I think that’s that so I’d leave it to the summer with Jackson instead of making a silly decision quickly (aka Carvalhal etc). It makes sense and clearly the players respect him/are listening to him.

I think there’s a boost from coming out of the shadow of Dyche. The players are happier and it’s showing! Mike is rightly getting the plaudits for the work he and his team are doing.Jakubclaret wrote: ↑Thu Apr 21, 2022 10:00 pmI wouldn’t change something that’s working the situation we are in, he’s obviously got something about him & the players are responding to him.

Certainly think we might be better off looking for a coach to support Jackson, Mee dnd Bardsley rather than someone to come in and run it his way.
Re: Mike Jackson
the smart play would be perhaps wait until we lose a game then announce the new manager.

Wasnt it refreshing to see a convo on the touchline with others offering advice, and not with their mouths covered my a hand, I mean we all know Woan would just say "Yes Sean, we need to play more long balls into the channel"

There’s no other way now. He has to keep it until the end of the season - clearly the players are fighting and playing.
We were staring into the Abyss after Norwich and he has given us an unlikely chance.

Maybe the players are actually being told to just play how they know they can. We are so much better with Cork in midfield too.

Let’s see how we get on at Wolves, but personally I’ll be fuming if we break this up now. It looks to me like we’ve got a good spirit and some new ideas that are blending well.
Don’t fix what’s not broken.

Re: Mike Jackson
I cherish the experiences I was afforded whilst Dyche was manager, he gave me moments I never thought I'd have as a Burnley fan. And I'm grateful.
But results, and performances, were pretty dire for eighteen months.
Jackson seems to have liberated the players a little bit. I was very impressed with the performance this evening. He's given some impressive interviews too.
Up the Clarets.

Re: Mike Jackson
Couldn't agree more. He said they've not changed much, they've just stopped hoofing it. Never seen Nick Pope play it on the deck as much as he did tonight.
They are playing with a lot more freedom and tonight I'm far more optimistic that we can avoid relegation than I have been for a long time

Re: Mike Jackson
Pope throwing it out early was a clear instruction imo and what about that quick long pass to Cornetynot wrote: ↑Thu Apr 21, 2022 10:34 pmCouldn't agree more. He said they've not changed much, they've just stopped hoofing it. Never seen Nick Pope play it on the deck as much as he did tonight.

Changed a lot
McNeil/Cornet on wings
Popes distribution
Less hoof
On the front foot, positive
No long throws from Roberts
More creative freedom

Re: Mike Jackson
Terribly worded by me.
I meant that if we beat Wolves, clearly pointless bringing in another manager before the end of the season as Jackson is doing so well. If we were to lose to Wolves, I believe we would struggle to stay up so I would also choose not to replace him till the summer to allow it to be a more considered decision.
Basically, and trying not to tie myself in knots, I just wouldn’t upset the applecart now.

Re: Mike Jackson
Agreed. Pope’s throw and the long/quick kick to Cornet made a massive difference. And pretending to play it short. Plus….
A bus stop corner routine AND a well worked FK that nearly caught them out. Looked like we’d actually worked on something new in training. And as if they’d been reading my posts complaining about corners/FK’s.
Flabbergasted and delighted in equal measure.
I was so

Also loved the telling the players to walk off the pitch together at the end, little things to encourage being a team again. He wont get the job and he shouldnt as it would be too much for him but what an 8 games he may have, going down in Burnley folklore

Re: Mike Jackson
At the risk of doing Michael Jackson a massive disservice by over inflating and romanticising Ben Mee's involvement, I wonder how much of this bounce comes from Ben Mee.
He has been with us longer than SD, picked up so much of Dyche's management DNA, embodies the warrior player, and represents the Club and town so positively. In some ways he could be a kind of modernising continuity candidate. I almost don't want him to be fit for Wolves because Collins is in the groove and I don't want to rock the leadership mix boat.
Whatever happens in the run-in, I would love the Club to be assuring Ben Mee of significant involvement in the setup when he starts to reduce his playing time. A player and a man we are proud of. A unifying figure to coalesce around in turbulent times. A man for all seasons!

Depends how the Wolves game goes. If we win that, then I'd give him the job till end of the season.
