Not Aspinall Arms though, is it? I thought the background was the exit to the gardens at the back but it’s definitely not.

Gutted, I was there this time last week. It’s walking distance from our house.

Edit: it’s not actually The Aspinall, though.

I don’t recognise that black and white floor and I’m in there nearly every week.

Either that or I’m blind.

Looks familiar but more and more seem to be going for a similar look. I’d have far more chance with a picture of the outside. :)

Still struggling with people not expecting this to happen

I get it if you completely don't use the internet (and as you are on here, that isn't the case) or that you support another team

Everyone who is everyone in the football world knows this is happening, and will happen this week

Why are you all so concerned that it won't?

It’s all agreed as far as I know. He might even be Burnley manager now but the announcement will all have to fit in with the media side of things.

Of course it will happen, and purely the fact we're being heavily linked to that city kid on loan should be a huge pointer to Kompany being our new manager.

Until I see a picture of VK waving a Burnley scarf over his head I won’t accept that he is our Manager.

I’d even accept a photoshopped version though. 😁

You seem pretty certain, how come?

I live down here and I can't think of a George and Dragon in Dunham Massey. There's one north of Altrincham (a table table for the Premier Inn). You wouldn't expect him to be in there. Dunham Massey must be 1.5/2 miles SW of Altrincham.
Can you give me the address of the one you mean, please?

You can't make the news headlines the day after the champions league final, or the championship play off final.

As we will want to milk it, quite rightly, I should think holding the press conference off until Tuesday makes sense.

Milk it to serve what purpose? The only benefit that I can see to milking it is to send a message that finances are not as troublesome at the press is suggesting, and this may be a case of smoke and mirrors.

Aside from that, I’d rather play it as low key as is possible. Lauding a manager with limited experience as some sort of saviour could see us with plenty of egg on our faces.

Kompany will get a fair crack of the whip from me, I just hope that my concerns about a lack of experience don’t prove to be correct. It’s a big gamble, when the aim must be promotion, to lay your money on a name as opposed to someone with real experience.

This is a critical appointment and Pace really needs to have got this one right.

Yes. I'm now in my 17th pub in Altrincham and despite a pint in each one, I've still not seen this black and white floor.

Agggh well onto the 18th.

I can understand your feelings, but Americans don't think like that. He will be introduced with as much noise and Razzmatazz as possible. It won't bother me.
VK, and the team are going to face lots of pressure however his introduction is made, and that has to be welcomed. If we are a target of our rivals, and the media, we have to learn how to handle it. If we aren't playing under pressure it will mean we are having a poor season, and none of us want that.

I'd take a big song and dance. We failed to capitalise on any publicity opportunities in the Premier League and essentially left our marketing up to the press, who were then all too happy to constantly knock us such as trying to tie the plane incident to the club. I'm perfectly fine with ALK making as much noise as possible on this because we could do with positive media coverage.

I wonder how many tease tweets/posts about everything other than the new manager the club social media person will put out tomorrow?

Someone has a cracking sense of humour, never seen as many tweets over a non football weekend, they must be sat at home having a laugh at the reactions of some fans.
