Easiest way is get on a raft from Calais. The RNL will bring her in.helmclaret wrote: ↑Wed Jun 01, 2022 2:54 amIt’s not as simple as that unfortunately. I’ve been trying to get my wife and son a visa to move to the UK for the last 2 years.
The current Home Office is incredibly hostile and unwelcoming to foreign nationals, even if they are married to a Brit.
There is a basic human right to a ‘family life.’ However, this current Home Office have done away with that and encourage you to move away to your partners country of origin.
I’d imagine Kompany’s ‘star status’ will go a long way to ensuring his WP is approved though in this instance.

Re: Name the next manager
That is a real message from the person who asked multiple websites for odds on Kompany to Burnley as soon as Dyche was sacked, most of the bookies didn't even have Kompany on the list.spt_claret wrote: ↑Tue May 31, 2022 11:58 pmAssuming this screenshot is real and not some Photoshopped social media manipulation, wouldn't this mean ALK had been talking to Kompany while he was at Anderlecht, and while Dyche was still manager? That seems...well, I know Bolton did similar to us with Coyle but still unlikely. I don't see how that would fit with these delays, as it would mean we've had 6 weeks at least to get the work permit etc. sorted.
Suppose this is the way of social media, a few pictures and words and the rumour mill gets going but this seems really odd and not something I'm all that inclined to believe.
I don't know how true the story is of course but the guy has called it bang on in the end.

Re: Name the next manager
It could have been the case that Dyche was planning on going anyway at the end of the season ( either by his choice or the owners). On that basis you would expect the club to do some research or put out a few feelers for a successor. I half wonder if Pace knew Dyche planned to take all the coaching staff and that is why a decision was made early.spt_claret wrote: ↑Tue May 31, 2022 11:58 pmAssuming this screenshot is real and not some Photoshopped social media manipulation, wouldn't this mean ALK had been talking to Kompany while he was at Anderlecht, and while Dyche was still manager? Re: Name the next manager
Can understand the succession planning as you say if the intention was a change at the end of the season. But that second point re. coaching staff- that would be absolute suicide by Pace. Why force the issue to replace the coaching staff midseason during a relegation fight? If they were all going at the end of the season at least there's then a close season to get everyone in and if you're succession planning already can prep for that. Would make no sense to do that early when there's crunch games to play. Which again is why I'm not sure how much stock I place in this claim of early talks. And again, wouldn't gel with the work permit holdup.Boss Hogg wrote: ↑Wed Jun 01, 2022 10:20 amIt could have been the case that Dyche was planning on going anyway at the end of the season ( either by his choice or the owners). The only way that makes sense is if the plan was Kompany in the summer so the WP issue kept on the back burner, but then for some reason Dyche gets unexpectedly potted premature, and minimal prep work was done on the work permit since.
All in all, baffling. Just want the announcement ASAP at this point.

I’d be surprised if they hadn’t. It was always the plan to bring in an interim manager until the end of the season and then a permanent one in the summer. That suggests they knew who they wanted and that usually means they’ve spoken with the preferred candidate(s).spt_claret wrote: ↑Tue May 31, 2022 11:58 pmAssuming this screenshot is real and not some Photoshopped social media manipulation, wouldn't this mean ALK had been talking to Kompany while he was at Anderlecht, and while Dyche was still manager? If that is the case that's p*ss poor. This is bloody important that we have a manager (the right manager) in place asap. Balls to the holidays get back and get it sorted. However, having said that I can't see anything to do with the media side at the club holding this up.
Wouldn't it be nice though for a bit of communication from the club to reassure fans and give a bit of an update on where things are. Communication eh! It's brilliant

Been done to death the communication bit, and I'm not sure what sort of communication you put out there when you are in the process of sorting out the small print of a managerial announcement that everyone whose job it is to know and tell everyone told everyone it was happening last Thursdaybf2k wrote: ↑Wed Jun 01, 2022 11:01 amIf that is the case that's p*ss poor. There's no chance the media side holds things up. It almost certainly won't be until next week but the idea that we would wait to announce it when all of the announcements/introductions will be sat ready to post is just silly. Even if nobody who works on the media side is working or willing to log on for five minutes, Pace could just announce it himself.

I assume this means they also headhunted for an interim manager? Can't see how the plan was always to get rid of all our first team coaching staff for an inexperienced interim manager, mid relegation fight, 2 days before a game.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Wed Jun 01, 2022 10:30 amI’d be surprised if they hadn’t. Re: Name the next manager
So you want daily updates on it?
Is this to do with a reluctance to trust info from the internet (even if its been spot on for years from verified sources)?
Its agreed, it was agreed last Thursday, and its just sorting out some unspecified details that no one whose job it is to know these things is worried about it affecting the deal
That is good enough for me
I do agree that the club need to improve on the communication stuff away from the first team

I wasn't being silly, I wondered what sort of info you wanted and and on what times scale
If you rely on the club being the only source of trusted information then there is nothing that can be done I'm afraid. Its agreed, it was agreed last Thursday but there are some minor stuff to be worked out that no one whose jobs depend on knowing this kind of thing is bothered about
All I'm seeing (with the greatest respect to you and the few others) is a fear that it will fall through, but based on nothing other than "well, its fallen through before"

Re: Name the next manager
I would have thought that the club would have communicated the following so far;
- thank you for your support this season type message from the board and doing this on behalf of the playing/coaching staff.
- a message of confirmation that whilst players are going off on a well earned break, the board is still progressing the replacement of SD. They expect that this process should be completed shortly or within a few weeks etc.
It’s not difficult to do so not sure why we haven’t heard anything like this.
However, it doesn’t change anything even if they had of communicated these things- we are still non the wiser on the things we want to know.
I can imagine that the lack of communication is probably not seen as an issue for the club for this very reason. I’m reasonably relaxed about the no communication but can see why it’s just seen as poor when there were probably a couple of comms could have made a small bit positive impression for those fans who still trying to understand the owners and their approach to running the club.

The narrative that we approached Kompany yonks ago as Dyche was on his way at the end of the season and was going to take all the coaching staff with him doesn’t make sense, seeing as he and his coaching staff are still out of a job and there aren’t any murmurings of any impending appointments.

They have done the former and the latter is inherently obvious and adds nothing. I'm not a fan of the new owners and do think there's been terrible communication on some issues- finances and the academy- but this particular example really doesn't strike me as an issue.clarethomer wrote: ↑Wed Jun 01, 2022 12:08 pmI would have thought that the club would have communicated the following so far;

Irrespective of delays in getting a new manager over the line,I really do think it shows a lack of respect by the Chairman to the fans, not to have made some comment on what the plans are going forward
