From the info I’ve received, nothing was done last Thursday. I think there was a lot of confidence then but that’s six days with nothing having happened.

I got something positive on it yesterday but something less so today. I’m not sure what the problems are though.

You did a post in here saying you believe it’s all done / agreed, same day Boden said the same
If so, then at the time, from the info I’d been given, I must have believed that was the case.

It was sometime last week that Nicola Schira and Fabrizio Romano tweeted about it being Kompany - these two have the highest reputation in the game with stuff like this. As soon as they mentioned it I was confident, their sources seem to always be impeccable.

Why are there always problems with everything that Burnley FC get involved with?
Irrespective of delays in getting a new manager over the line,I really do think it shows a lack of respect by the Chairman to the fans, not to have made some comment on what the plans are going forward
Quite a few fans have shown pace nothing but disrespect from the word go. Respect works both ways.

Interesting. If it’s at a stage of work permits though, as we are to believe, I don’t see what could be a negative about it - to get to work permit stage, contracts have to be signed to show the home office evidence of employment. What was the ‘less so’ positive you heard, if you can share?

Perhaps visa's for his back room team?

They have done the former and the latter is inherently obvious and adds nothing. I'm not a fan of the new owners and do think there's been terrible communication on some issues- finances and the academy- but this particular example really doesn't strike me as an issue.
I don’t tend to pay much attention to the official social media channels as a lot often gets discussed on here but just had a look and you are right- the thank you from the club has been done and so has the words from Mike Jackson.

By all accounts, Alan Pace has tried to blend in with fans, walking round the stadium prior/after games to have conversations and receive feedback, moving to the area and showing his face around local areas. Friends of mine who have bumped into him, one of them was actually walking on Pendle Hill and saw him, have said he seemed like a good guy, approachable and happy to chat.

He also joined Twitter, which was praised by many as an improvement to the zero communication we got the previous owners. He had been quite active on there until recently, when the abuse kicked in.

Says a lot about someone if they disrespect someone "before they've earned it"

Call me old fashioned, but I think you should respect someone until they give you a reason not to, not the other way round...

Doesn’t really help when the media broke the news about the owners finances a day or two after they took over. Immediately set them in a bad setting. It’s only got worse from there.

I wasn't being silly, I wondered what sort of info you wanted and and on what times scale

If you rely on the club being the only source of trusted information then there is nothing that can be done I'm afraid. Its agreed, it was agreed last Thursday but there are some minor stuff to be worked out that no one whose jobs depend on knowing this kind of thing is bothered about
Where have you heard this from? I haven't seen anything along these lines.
I'd also like an update, you know maybe once a week isn't too much to ask.

All I'm seeing (with the greatest respect to you and the few others) is a fear that it will fall through, but based on nothing other than "well, its fallen through before"
It's a pretty legitimate reason to be fair. No news is not always good news.

If it doesn’t happen I’m going to take a leave of absence from this board for a few days, one can barely imagine the insanity that will ensue.

So, there’s a silver lining for you if you’re worried about it falling through :D

There's no point having the same old debate again but to me risking the future of BFC for personal gain, on terms which put all the risks on the club and none on yourself, is a bit of a reason not to respect Pace and his lot.

If people think that he's right not to respect all fans because some fans don't respect him, that's their own business. I would personally say that outside of a very, very tiny minority Burnley fans have earned total respect from the club this season by sticking by a very poor side.

There isn't anything at all about issues online

Most of the Burnley fans I follow panic at the slightest hint of a problem, so I'm sure it would have appeared by now

But again, Kompany agreed to come last Thursday, and that is what everyone said (including the editor of this site btw)

That doesn't mean its signed and sealed, and I'm sure stuff changes, but as of today, that is still the situation as far as its possible to determine

Already mentioned by someone - two pretty solid internet sources, plus articles in the Guardian and the Daily Telegraph (think the Mail as well)

Life is far too stressful worrying about stuff that is happening, rather than panicking about stuff that might!

Seeing as you feel the need to include my name, I will have posted that last Friday because I’d been led to believe that was the case at the time. I’m not suggesting for one minute that it won’t happen but I am now aware that last Thursday’s info was incorrect.

Well, you said it mate

Its perfectly possible that stuff has changed since last Thursday, but the information shared by everyone who is everyone was that it was agreed

(took Nixon another three days to find that out though!)

He’s currently in El Salvador seeking $1bn worth of investment, but in bitcoin. He is then set to create NFT’s of himself flying for people like you to purchase. When all of the above is complete, I am told Kompany will sign.

Last I heard he was so desperate for investment he’d boarded NASA’s Perseverance Rover and was seeking out wealthy Martians. That’s how bad things are you see.

He couldn’t afford to board NASA’s Perseverance Rover as you need circa ten million to do that. He couldn’t afford it and no one was prepared to gamble and lend him the money.

Already mentioned by someone - two pretty solid internet sources, plus articles in the Guardian and the Daily Telegraph (think the Mail as well)

Life is far too stressful worrying about stuff that is happening, rather than panicking about stuff that might!
I've never ever understood the mindset of crossing a bridge before you've got to it (or in some people's case before it's even been built.......hi mum !)

Agreed! In the absence of any news it will only get sillier though!
Better than falling out though.

Everyone is entitled to respect, it isn't something you have to earn. It's just something that you can lose.
Agree.

Everyone should be granted a level of respect and you lose/gain through your actions.

Anyone I perceived to be showing me no respect just because I haven’t earned it with them would likely mean a mutual disrespect given that they clearly aren’t living by their own values.

You've got it the wrong way around.

You earn respect with what you say and do.
There's two different sorts of respect. There's common or garden respect that you give to everyone - you don't sneer at a stranger in the street just because he hasn't earned your respect - and there's special respect for people that have done something good. Same word, slightly but slgnificantly different meanings.

I'm willing to give Pace the common or garden respect that I would give to anyone, while at the same time bearing in mind that he owes the club £112m or more and has no apparent means of paying it back, and that his time as chairman is noticeably devoid of achievements. Which makes it hard to give him the respect due to someone who has done something good.

Says a lot about someone if they disrespect someone "before they've earned it"

Call me old fashioned, but I think you should respect someone until they give you a reason not to, not the other way round...
Not respecting someone doesn’t mean you disrespect them
