Re: Name the next manager
I suppose to be technical, Kompany (or any other non-UK manager) isn't allowed to do anything without a work permit. So perhaps (I only say perhaps) they are keeping quiet about the appointment because he actually is working, behind the scenes.
Though that wouldn't excuse keeping quiet about his deputy. The deputy could loudly and openly be doing the work of signing and releasing players, obviously with Kompany in the background pretending not to be involved, if the deupty was someone like Bellamy who wouldn't need a work permit.

Re: Name the next manager
Apart from relegation, captain leaving ,top scorer leaving ,best player leaving ,best keeper we’ve had in generations leaving ,debt payments due ,no manager ,no goalkeeping coach etc , but you keep your head in the sand

Re: Name the next manager
It is worrying when you consider that all the other clubs are signing players and have all started pre season etc yet we can’t do any of that until we officially appoint a manager.
Or you could think that the season hasn’t even been finished a fortnight yet and perhaps everyone is still on holiday so not much is happening anywhere and so barely any time is being lost at all.
Depends how you see things I suppose.

For most of our rivals, the season finished 4 weeks ago and their management will not be on holiday.arise_sir_charge wrote: ↑Fri Jun 03, 2022 10:24 pmIt is worrying when you consider that all the other clubs are signing players and have all started pre season etc yet we can’t do any of that until we officially appoint a manager.

Re: Name the next manager
We got relegated due to years off Dyches work, Ben Mee hasn't announced anything yet, Cornet hasn't left yet, nick Pope hasn't left yet, debt payments apparently renegotiated, Kompany is manager, but you keep telling lies

Re: Name the next manager
Just watched a few Anderlecht videos (probably jinxed it now, sorry lads), but this is worth a watch:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-MIEOzbSl1c
Hopefully what we’ve got to look forward to (with better finishing).
On 18 minutes (in the game) I think you see the three at the back thing in possession. The two CB’s separate and Cullen drops in the middle. Not that they seem to worry too much about defending from what I’ve seen

However, how entertaining to watch. Kompany is the polar opposite of Dyche. No idea how that’s going to work but at least it should be entertaining

I wonder if their management teams are doing any behind-the-scenes work? I think there is more to a transfer than waking up one morning, deciding who you want to sign, and announcing it at 9.30.arise_sir_charge wrote: ↑Fri Jun 03, 2022 11:26 pmThe 24 clubs have made a staggering 9 signings between them.

Try reading the post , it says leaving .
Another one with their head in the sand , can you point to where Pace has said the debt payments have been renegotiated , thanks .

Plenty of suggestions that Kompany is doing the background work already. in fact I’d go as far as to say we’ve been linked with more players since Kompany was mentioned than we would normally have been so early in the summer.

Re: Name the next manager
So let me get this right, you can use media speculation about multiple players leaving and pass it off as fact but if someone else uses speculation to say the debt has been renegotiated you expect it to be supported with a direct quote from Alan Pace. Righto.

These were my thoughts as well. I’ve no idea of course but if he has been appointed he won’t be sitting on his backside, I imagine he and his staff will be working hard on recruitment. No doubt all will be revealed in due course.arise_sir_charge wrote: ↑Sat Jun 04, 2022 7:47 amPlenty of suggestions that Kompany is doing the background work already. in fact I’d go as far as to say we’ve been linked with more players since Kompany was mentioned than we would normally have been so early in the summer.

Some classic posts on this thread
It should come as no surprise that those who seem to struggle on most things connected to the club like transfer windows or match threads are exposing themselves on this one too.
A small number really do earn the dingle tag for all of us

You must of seen it it's in the same article that confirmed Ben Mee is leaving, Nick Pope is leaving Cornet is leaving and everything else you stated as happening.

I am also hopeful of VK being announced in the coming days and a few signings along with the new boss. Hopefully cheer a few of the doomsday lot up.
I too am sure plenty is going on behind the scenes to secure plans for next season.
I'm just praying VK hasn't had a look on here!!

Re: Name the next manager
I've been really worried about the lack of Kompany news over the last few days. However:
The other serious option (Gladbach) seems now off the cards
I've not heard any news that he isn't coming
There still seems to be transfer talk that suggests he is coming (TH-B)
There's isn't talk of anyone else being linked with us
Still very worried about the number of players potentially leaving though. Gonna have to be a mammoth rebuild, and makes an immediate return extremely unlikely

This.
We can’t control what is going on so no need to be letting it impact how you are feeling.
It’s going to be a long off season for many. As one question gets answered there will be several others that haven’t yet.
Just need to be patient and let people do their jobs.

Re: Name the next manager
You can guarantee a few will find his appointment underwhelming, and bemoan his lack of Championship experience, for me we'll have to temper expectations in his 1st year, as the squad will be drastically different come the end of the window, but given time he will get it right I feel, I'm just glad we're taking a bold approach, and not appointing one of the usual suspects.Steve-Harpers-perm wrote: ↑Sat Jun 04, 2022 9:39 amYou can almost sense the disappointment from certain posters when Kompany is confirmed and the regret of wasted time refreshing Twitter for the past few weeks.

On a positive slant - would there be a point bouncing right back with a one year older nucleus of a team that weren't good enough to survive the premier league this season ? If it wasn't for the money aspects of the game we would be far better over the next 1-2 seasons in the championship building a better equipped team to cope what we know what's coming if promotion ensues.

Re: Name the next manager
This is why I'd happily give VK 2 seasons to sort our current mess out, and as long as he's building a younger more mobile side who are developing, then promotion in season 1 isn't essential for me anyway, I'd far rather we adopted a longer term approach, which might well bring us rewards in time.kenyon6923 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 04, 2022 1:06 pmOn a positive slant - would there be a point bouncing right back with a one year older nucleus of a team that weren't good enough to survive the premier league this season ? We would and certainly should take promotion at the very first opportunity.kenyon6923 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 04, 2022 1:06 pmOn a positive slant - would there be a point bouncing right back with a one year older nucleus of a team that weren't good enough to survive the premier league this season ? I’ll be getting behind VK but I’ll be honest and say that I’d feel far more confident in bouncing back if SD was still in charge. I understand that they’d be many that disagree though.

To me it doesn’t make any difference as Dyche would have still been faced with the same contract issues, players leaving etc.
Let’s face it, his record with loans, which we are highly likely going to utilise this year isn’t exactly great..
