The likes of Mee and Pope don’t really fit how VK likes to play but I think McNeil would so I hope we can keep him. I think Vydra would too when fit.

Don’t know why there’s an obsession with spending fees either. There might be good players on a free but with relatively high wages.
Re: Summer 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
So Celtic think that playing 3 or 4 games in the Champions League then the rest of the season playing League 1 equivalent football in the domestic league would be better experience than playing in the Championship. Yeah right.ClaretAL wrote: ↑Tue Jun 14, 2022 12:36 pmTaylor Harwood bellis

No we don't know for sure.Paul Waine wrote: ↑Tue Jun 14, 2022 6:55 pmHi Qtt, do we know that Stoke have a sell on clause? Didn't the club pay a decent fee for a youngster with no prior EPL experience? I'm also struggling to understand a relegation get out having anything to do with the selling club. Why would Stoke have any day in the club's contract with a player? I don't see Collins having a relegation clause, signed as Tark's replacement, not an immediate first team starter.
My point is there might be one, but there certainly won't be both clauses at once.

Wouldn’t the two clauses be unrelated? I.e, the sell on is a certainty that Stoke themselves will have inserted, I imagine the relegation release clause is something built into Collins contract at the request of him/his agent as opposed to anything to do with Stoke/his transfer. A pre-requisite of Collins signing for us perhaps.Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Tue Jun 14, 2022 8:21 pmNo we don't know for sure.

If I was selling my star player to a relegation candidate and negotiate a decent deal with a sell on clause (of profit) I would not let the player put in a cheap relegation clause that would virtually wipe out a big chunk of profit for us.jedi_master wrote: ↑Tue Jun 14, 2022 8:29 pmWouldn’t the two clauses be unrelated? The Stoke owners are clever people don't forget.
Obviously it's only guess work on all of it.

Just heard that VK, in his pursuit of youth, is lining up Halley, Boyle and Watson.

I could see that being Burnley attempting to sign him.

They tried to sign him in January and the club that hasn't been named has been called a Premier league side

According to a good source we are expecting a minimum of 9 incomings before the end of the window

This is a thread for rumours. No one is claiming to be ITK. If they are passing on info, it's a rumour, whatever.
When there aren't rumours, people complain there's a lack of them, when people post them, it's 'why are you posting rumours Mr ITK?'

Problem is that "rumours" that don't involve a reputable source are 99% of the time total bulls**t
Too many people get a kick out of spreading stuff and claiming that its from someone ITK
Been true before the internet as well!

Actually, it likely is or at the very least exaggerated: Lancaster said "99% of the time" but the proportion of stuff you see on the internet which could/should be branded 'bullshit' is only 87.53%

With Tarks, Mee, Weghorst and possibly Pope. Cornet and others leaving, plus a crap midfield and two ageing strikers in Barnes and Rodriguez, we need changes, and plenty of them, quickly. Bring it on.

I think expectation levels might be the biggest issue we have at the start
Will take some time to gel I think!

Re: Summer 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Forest, linked with Pope, are in talks to sign Dean Henderson on loan with a view to a £20m deal.
That is another club to cross off the list of potentials for him.
It would seemingly leave just Newcastle as an option.
I actually think he will now stay.

I’m bloody sure expectation levels are way over the top. I think the renegotiation of the payback suggests the club is more realistic than a lot of fans… preparing for up to three years in the Championship, while hoping it will be for just one season.Lancasterclaret wrote: ↑Wed Jun 15, 2022 1:07 pmI think expectation levels might be the biggest issue we have at the start

Re: Summer 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Has Pope actually made any noises that he wants to move, and it does appear his list of viable PL options is diminishing by the day, so he might well remain at TM, which in the event of Mee and Tarks going might not be the worst thing, keep Collins and Pope, and add a goal scorer, and we should do well in the Championship.

I’m pretty certain Pope will stay.
Re: Summer 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
No noises. It was more an assumption that one of the best shot stoppers in the world would be in demand and he’d be keen to stay in the PL (deserves to), due to looking for a World Cup spot. It will be interesting to see how Kompany adapts his tactics as a lot of the focus at Anderlecht was the keeper playing out from the back.tiger76 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 15, 2022 1:28 pmHas Pope actually made any noises that he wants to move, and it does appear his list of viable PL options is diminishing by the day, so he might well remain at TM, which in the event of Mee and Tarks going might not be the worst thing, keep Collins and Pope, and add a goal scorer, and we should do well in the Championship.
Re: Summer 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Definitely looking like it. Only Newcastle as a viable option. Though Fulham’s keeper target from Lazio is now attracting interest from Chelsea so they might still be an option.
Re: Summer 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
I wouldn’t rule out a club abroad going for him. Would be great if he stayed though.

From what I’ve read Kompany wants to play it out from the back. Pope doesn’t exactly fit in with that.

Well we have lost around 6 including 1st on the team sheet players like Mee and Tarks plus Westy out for a wee while plus any others we might sell like Popey, Cornet, Collins etc etc so hopefully 9 minimum is 9 bare minimum !!!!!!!

I think good coaches can make him better in terms of playing out from the back. Even under MJ he was starting to throw out the ball to a colleague, or pass it, rather than hang on for ages then belt it.Lets face it SD would have just told him to not be stupid and try fancy stuff-just belt it into the other halfPremierLeagueClass wrote: ↑Wed Jun 15, 2022 1:49 pmFrom what I’ve read Kompany wants to play it out from the back. To be fair it might be a good opportunity for Pope to show he can do it, especially given teams in the Championship won’t press as well as they do in the PL.warksclaret wrote: ↑Wed Jun 15, 2022 2:14 pmI think good coaches can make him better in terms of playing out from the back.
