So Celtic think that playing 3 or 4 games in the Champions League then the rest of the season playing League 1 equivalent football in the domestic league would be better experience than playing in the Championship. Yeah right.

Hi Qtt, do we know that Stoke have a sell on clause? Didn't the club pay a decent fee for a youngster with no prior EPL experience? I'm also struggling to understand a relegation get out having anything to do with the selling club. Why would Stoke have any day in the club's contract with a player? I don't see Collins having a relegation clause, signed as Tark's replacement, not an immediate first team starter.

I.e, the sell on is a certainty that Stoke themselves will have inserted, I imagine the relegation release clause is something built into Collins contract at the request of him/his agent as opposed to anything to do with Stoke/his transfer. A pre-requisite of Collins signing for us perhaps.

If I was selling my star player to a relegation candidate and negotiate a decent deal with a sell on clause (of profit) I would not let the player put in a cheap relegation clause that would virtually wipe out a big chunk of profit for us.

The Stoke owners are clever people don't forget.

Problem is that "rumours" that don't involve a reputable source are 99% of the time total bulls**t

With Tarks, Mee, Weghorst and possibly Pope. Cornet and others leaving, plus a crap midfield and two ageing strikers in Barnes and Rodriguez, we need changes, and plenty of them, quickly. Bring it on.

I’m bloody sure expectation levels are way over the top. I think the renegotiation of the payback suggests the club is more realistic than a lot of fans… preparing for up to three years in the Championship, while hoping it will be for just one season.

No noises. It was more an assumption that one of the best shot stoppers in the world would be in demand and he’d be keen to stay in the PL (deserves to), due to looking for a World Cup spot. It will be interesting to see how Kompany adapts his tactics as a lot of the focus at Anderlecht was the keeper playing out from the back.

Well we have lost around 6 including 1st on the team sheet players like Mee and Tarks plus Westy out for a wee while plus any others we might sell like Popey, Cornet, Collins etc etc so hopefully 9 minimum is 9 bare minimum !!!!!!!

If I’m honest I just don’t see a market for Pope especially not at the prices quoted in the papers.

I am pretty confident he will be in the net this season. Unless he pushes for a loan deal perhaps.

I think good coaches can make him better in terms of playing out from the back. Even under MJ he was starting to throw out the ball to a colleague, or pass it, rather than hang on for ages then belt it.Lets face it SD would have just told him to not be stupid and try fancy stuff-just belt it into the other half

To be fair it might be a good opportunity for Pope to show he can do it, especially given teams in the Championship won’t press as well as they do in the PL.
