Muleka got a hatful in Turkey almost a goal a game but that level even Weghorst could score at. Didn’t do as well in Belgium before going to Turkey.

Looks promising though as a player.

Thing I was most impressed about was that he seemed to know how to head a ball. Some thunderous headers there!

Also looked quick and didn’t always take the shot when there was a better option on.

At €4m could be an absolute bargain. Dread to think what we’ve been quoted for other strikers muted (like the Swansea lad).

I find it interesting that we are suddenly being linked with all these players in their early 20s, but who did the scouting for them. Has the club always known about them or has it come from Kompany?

Were they on our radar but ignored by Dyche as potential signings

Will almost certainly have stemmed from the club's recruitment department. Will be a combination of factors in terms of why more now than under Dyche, two biggest IMO will be that there are simply more young players capable of playing in the Championship than the Premier League and when we were in the Prem we had to focus on the here and now a lot more.

What I like about the Ballard deal (assuming it comes off) is that we clearly had multiple centre back targets. We tried for McNally at around £1.5m and £1.75m but once the amounts reached £2m we must have thought/known we could get a Championship proven option in Ballard for that so moved on quickly.

Hopefully we have similar shortlists and move equally quickly for other positions if first choice options don't come off.

Hoping Pace has learned from the Christie and Orsic sagas. This strategy avoids us being drawn in to long running transfers, improves our chances of actually getting them done & it won’t take long before players/agents/clubs cotton on that our approach means we won’t take too much messing around. Good stuff.

If we’ve walked away from McNally for Bellard, I wouldn’t like to be his agent/Chairman.

Precisely we're now going after players with potential to improve, rather than being a retirement home for guys in the twilight of their careers, and I know which strategy I prefer us to pursue.

Didn't we take out a loan for the money owed by Newcastle? Perhaps Newcastle have said give us Pope for £10 mill and we will send the rest of the Wood money now to avoid paying more interest on the loan.

It will take a bit of time - Forest proved it can be done from a poor start. The issue that we do have is that promotion should be the target and that brings pressure with it.

I think your thinking too much into it.

10m is about right in this market. If it gets things moving from our end then it’s a good bit of business.

It could be Nick Pope's wage that NUFC have had to get themselves ahead of the competition. Back in Jan it was reported that NUFC were paying Chris Wood £90k per week. I hope Nick Pope is similarly well rewarded.
