Superb player for us.
Didn't Huddersfield not deem him good enough for a contract?

Yeah. We got Scottie and they got Paterson and they were thinking they had the better signing

Scotty turned out to be an outstanding signing.
Had so maany big moments for us.
Like to tune in and watch him at Rangers when I can.
Had a great career.
Never work it out why he wasn't a regular for the Scottish squad.

Agree that smile and never ending running, tackling, passing, shooting. Great stuff. I liked Bobby down the other wing too. Many a time a long leg arched round an attacker and stole the ball.

What a pair!

His and Duffers celebration when they ran to the fans at Deadwood was brilliant.

Great for us.

Just wish Brownhill had a fraction of Scotties composure.
Almost every goal he scored was calculated, threaded into the goal. A great player.

As that video shows! He was very reliable when he got a chance you knew he had a great chance because he never thrashed at it - always struck cleanly and through the ball.

Because he played for Canada and was captain.

Think he only took up the Canada option because he kept getting overlooked by Scotland?

That's correct Buxton, even though he was playing in every Championship match and Premier League, he didn't get called up, their loss in my opinion, has is dad is Canadian he opted to play for them.

My thoughts too, at the time.
The Scots were hardly pulling up trees either around the time Scotty was playing well for us.

Too late for edit but just noticed that predictive text changed Boydy to Bobby!!!

Every goal he scored seemed to be an important one. Rarely if never a consolation or anything like that

Love the guy, his smile says it all everyone time he played. I personally felt we let him go 2 seasons too early when you look at the dross we have given contracts too.

When you see them goals, and them players, I hope the new lads realise what wearing the shirt means, and have the same desire to play for the badge as all those legends

Scott Arfield - we could have him back. We let him go way too early.

We didn’t “let him go “. Contract was offered, he preferred Rangers.

A free from Huddersfield who didn't rate him and wouldn't play him in the first team and I was seriously peed off with SD at the time as it looked like we really were scraping the bottom of the proverbial! But he was absolutely amazing and notwithstanding his goal at Ewood, my favourite has always been the late winner against Everton at the Turf after JBG had hit the crossbar. Great scenes and great celebration! I also remember his huge blunder (I think he only ever made the one!!) early on in his stay when he gifted Rovers of all people an equalising goal and he bounced back from that which showed tremendous character.

Fantastic signing on a free, but I like many others was underwhelmed when he signed, how wrong I and many others were proven to be.

Rarely injured and played wherever he was asked to be the gaffer, he's the type that every dressing room needs in their squad.

And for those who think going to Rangers was a downwards move in his career, he played in the EL final only a few months ago.

On top of this we'd lost Martin Paterson, Chris McCann and Lee Grant who'd all refused new contract offers that came with reduced pay.

Huddersfield actually signed Paterson. It looked for all the world they'd got the better of us in that deal.

Hohohohoho what a season we were in for!

The night at York in the League Cup was the dawning of a era, topped off with a smart finish from Super Scotty Arfield.
