I wouldn't say he's injury prone - his record for Lyon over six seasons was pretty good. I'd say it was more the adjustment to the Premier League from Ligue 1 (which is a garbage league bar a few teams) - remember he did not really have any pre-season with us.

His injuries were all niggly types, typical of someone not used to the pace of the league.

Afcon really ruined it for him - he didn't play much and tournament training is very different - all tactical with very little emphasis on match fitness/general fitness.

So much of a bargain clubs were scrambling to meet his clause and try and get him through the door.
Feels to me that the length of time taken to get this done suggests that the clause was about right for market value.

I don’t understand why some people just aren’t getting this.

Does anybody really think that clubs like us would be able to sign players like Cornet or WW without these conditions?
