Local knowledge required please

I am one of a group of four of us who meet up in the pub pre-match each home game. There are rumours that both the pubs we use are closed.
Can anyone tell me whether the following are open:-

The Rifle Volunteer, up Todmorden Road

The Coach and Horses on Church Street.

The Talbot left a big gap, a few of us went in the Coach and Horses til that also shut.

There's a dearth of pubs for a particular set of fans.

The Rifle according to Google is permanently closed.

We tend to head to Coalyard now pre-match, drinks not great but plenty of TVs for the 12:30 games and plenty of space and quick service.

Yes, unfortunately Gwynn the landlady of the Vols passed away in May and it's been closed since.

Great choice of beers too.
Does get busy though but if it didn’t it would probably have to shut down like the ones mentioned above !!

Bridge is the best pub, only problem is the crowds on a matchday. The other pubs offered a little more in way of room.

I'm not a 'local' as such but the best pre-match pint is probably in the New Broom. Sadly there's not a lot of room but if you arrive early and get a seat it's great.

Edit - the New Brew'm is the name of the pub. That pun's never worked for me.

We used to use The Talbot and now use Mojitos. Usually 3 or 4 real ales, cheap and football on.

I'm sure we'd know each other! We went in a bar up Bank Parade for the Newcastle game (Electric Circus). A bit strange, but ok tbh, and a decent pint of Guinness.

Used to do the Bridge before it became on trend and rammed.

The Circ and Loom Makers have tended to draw quite of the few Talbot drinkers. Both on Bank Parade near the sorting office.

Another one here who has not been to Burnley for 2 and a half years, used to drink in the foundation lounge however I understand that is not an option. Might just be a couple in the 110 club.

My question/ thought but don't know the answer, does the Crooked Billet in Worsthorne still do the pie, pint and transport offer?

Bridge and Brewm are far and away the best pubs in Burnley, especially on match days, but tbf on any given day. Yes they both get very full when it's footy, but that's because they're good (and in the case of The Brewm extremely cheap!!) The Circ is also OK with excellent real ale and a bizarre theme!

Yes, unfortunately so. Real shame as it has so much potential that pub - great location if you were getting the train back, too.

Think the new one near Parliament St is Finsley Gate Wharf but I haven't been in there yet.

The ‘new’ Finsley Gate Wharf has plenty of outside seats next to famous ‘straight mile’ part of the L & L canal (very pleasant in warm sunny weather). They have two real ales to choose from. Not cheap but sometimes ‘a change is as good as a rest’.

I've only been once a few months after it opened. It was nice enough but didn't really seem sure if it wanted to be pub, cafe, gastropub, restaurant or what and the layout didn't really help. Beer was OK, a couple of real ales I think but nothing particularly interesting.

It wasn't as good as I hoped but maybe it has got better.
