Didn’t notice the date. My apols
Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Possibly him and Vitinho yeah. I know Vitinho has been used on the wing lately (and done fine) but I think that is more due to lack of options. He's played mostly as an attacking full back in his career. With us signing Churlinov and Tella I assume he will be used more at full back / wing back from now...

Letting go more experience just seems really strange at this moment in time.

So far, many posters have been clamouring for a more dominant centre half, while also agreeing Maatsen has been one of our best performers.
Is CT really going to sit on a Championship bench when Leeds and / or West Ham might be doubling his wage back in the PL?
Can we afford to have a top earner on the bench?

If a prem club comes in then fair enough. But it doesn’t look likely, it sounds like we are actively trying to push him out (similar to Long and Lowton).RVclaret wrote: ↑Sun Aug 14, 2022 8:49 amTaylor is an interesting one.

If Leeds and West Ham are in for him and are going to double his wage it won't matter one bit.RVclaret wrote: ↑Sun Aug 14, 2022 8:49 amTaylor is an interesting one.

Interesting.
Can’t see it personally but I guess time will tell. If they are in for him then he will be gone.
Surely an attacker and number 10 has got to be the priority

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Charlie for me does not look comfortable at CH in the new set up. I watched the Watford game again and he looked in no mans land-was he playing LB or CH. He has limitations to his game and lacks experience at CH. We have been spoiled with Tarks/Mee/Collins. All very dominant in both penalty areas. I think a big experienced CH playing along TBH ( who is starting to look very composed), would benefit us. We have McNally as back plus Egan Riley, both have more experience at CH than Charlie

Kouyate video on a game of his up against Depay:

Of all the players linked recently I’ve been most impressed with Churlinov & this guy from the videos. Will be happy if we land him.
Of course would prefer we prioritise the other end of the pitch…
Assume Hannibal Mejbri might be the 10 option?

I saw he was one of the top performing defenders (underlying data) in the entire league last season.
Another key thing is that he plays LCB and appears left footed.

There were some rumours on United forums apparently. I didn’t see them but it’s been said he can leave on loan.burnley007 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 14, 2022 9:18 amSurely we're not going to get him?? He looks far too good for The Championship. Would be an incredible signing

I really hope we’re not flogging Taylor as well now.
We should be able to afford his wages and he is quite comfortably one of the best defenders in this division.

Kouyate looks very good. Got turned the once, but other than that, pretty much faultless. He would make a big difference.NewClaret wrote: ↑Sun Aug 14, 2022 9:02 amKouyate video on a game of his up against Depay:

Agreed I came away from the game on Friday thinking exactly the same thing about Taylor and even said to my son's I expect him to move on in this window , for me he's just a stop gap until we get an experienced CB.

It’s not about flogging Taylor it’s about being prepared, if a prem club comes in for him, at his age Taylor will want to leave, we would still demand a decent fee

If that happens, I would expect Paddy Power to immediately pay out on my bet on us winning the Championship.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
I’m not that bothered if Taylor stays or goes tbh. He doesn’t look comfortable at cb, and was caught in no man’s land for the goal on Friday. Still a very solid lb for a prem club, another high earner off the wage bill and our Dutch left back is class. If he was to leave, I’d want us to be in for a back up left back though, unless he thinks Vitinho can play there.

Just a guess but I’d say we’ve put a new bid in and that.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
He looked good to me & coming in to his prime, but stats have been iffy in previous years. Though rare you find a striker that’s consistently scored goals and we don’t seem to be overrun with links.
Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Burnley are making a new bid for Metz centre half Boubacar Kouyate and hope to pull off the deal.
Vincent Kompany has been chasing the Mali international for weeks and the Clarets have tabled an offer that may tempt the French club.
Kouyate was left out of the Metz game at the weekend as they sort out the terms on the transfer deal.
Metz wanted around £10 million but Burnley are offering about half of that and will also put in a big sell-on clause.
Kouyate was chased by Premier League sides in the past and it will be a coup to land him. He will need to apply for a work permit but should succeed.

Says that Metz want ten but we have submitted a new offer worth half with a massive sell on.

Looks like it’s happening

Let’s hope we can get this one done. I’ll be very pleased with this.

I think its more we have moved on from the liverpool lad. They wanted to put clauses in where we would have to pay fines if he didnt play
