Massive overreaction. If I was in Africa and someone asked me how I felt about being the first white manager, I wouldn't be offended, I am white. I might be caught off-guard by the question as VK was but it isn't a racist question and doesn't deserve a sacking. I have had my kids tell me it is racist to call somebody black. It is not, it is descriptive.
Calling someone black is certainly not racist. What Phil Bird said was not racist it was just stupid and of no relevance whatsoever

It’s not racist but not sure it’s politically correct either?

If someone identifies themselves as black, and you call them black, it's fine.

For me the main thing wrong with what Phil Bird said was the irrelevance of his question.

What has Vincent Kompany's colour got to do with anything?

Good point 👍

No excuse but I was just commenting on what others had already said.

Let's all get back on track now.

I suppose with all these things it's all whatever someone is comfortable with. One person's "black" is another person's offensive word. Some care, some don't. It's too broad a thing to paint everyone with one particular things. Same with anything. I think the important thing in life is to just make sure you're not purposefully harming someone.

Done well to sign for a Turkish club and still be playing for his Ukrainian club in europa league as we speak
90 minutes, 0 shots, 0 assists, 0 goals

Maybe not the answer to our goal scoring problems.

No idea what this is about, other than it is not about a transfer, I think.

I would just say, that if 'Black lives matter ' then someone has to identify as black.

Not always for sure. Give you Black History Month as an example. In my opinion it's fairly interchangeable in this day and age, but you're right, a lot of times AA is used.

Besides, it would be strange to call VK African American since he's Belgian and doesn't live in America.
The NAACP is an American association that doesn't use the word "Black" in its title. ;)

Pep doesn’t loan players out if he thinks they are gonna make it at city, and I include TBH in that.
Marlos Moreno
Zack Steffen
Filip Stevanović
Diego Rosa

Those are four players in the current 1st team squad that were out on loan. I haven't checked previous season squads..... kinda puts a hole in your theory though

Couple of speculative articles linking Charlie Taylor with West Ham this morning.

https://tbrfootball.com/report-west-ham ... ie-taylor/
https://www.westhamzone.com/news/west-h ... ie-taylor/

Perhaps we're waiting to see if we can get the Metz guy in first?

Not that I'd want to lose Charlie, but we'd be well stocked at CB and LB and you'd expect him to be one of our higher earners. That said, I've been enjoying seeing him in this new role in the middle and it's another chunk of experience being removed from the squad.

No mention of potential fee in the articles, and to be honest I'm not sure what fee I'd even be happy with if he were to leave.

We must still have a fair bit to spend if we're willing to offer quite a few million for O'Hare at Coventry.

Taylor to West Ham looking unlikely as they are closing in on Emerson from Chelsea.

Think we'd be crazy to let Taylor go as he can fill two positions, which will be valuable when we get a few injuries

Don't think we need to loose too much sleep on this. Charlie is at best steady. Suitable for a top 8 side in the PL- NO !!.Suspect we have seen the best years in him. Have to say having seen Maatsen's first four performances I am thinking how many chances would he have created for us last season. He is fast becoming our best attacking threat.

Left-footed central defenders who can play in a four or a three, who are comfortable on the ball and in the final third are pretty hard to find and are highly valued in modern formations. If they can play as a wing-back as well...then they are even more valuable. Add in PL experience...

Interesting though he wants first choice for England u19s though. The young Spurs striker (forgotten his name) was the main man. Whilst I know that doesn’t reflect how well he will do (neither does his u23 scoring record) it’s just worth pointing out.

I genuinely don’t know the answer to this, but how have did he and City do in the Johnston Paint thing (if that’s what it’s called) against lg 1 and 2 teams.

If Jay or Twine are going to be the main man I’m more inclined for us to go for a big Ariel threat as back up so we can put crosses in (Vokes mould) when teams sit so deep. Felt that was lacking last 10 when we brought Barnes on
Cant see a mermaid scoring very often. They are not built for it
