EFL Attendances and Away Followings 27/8/22
Crowds from this yesterday. I know some people like seeing this information. I don’t know why Wigan’s is blank?

What does the star mean next to some of the attendances?Claretforever wrote: ↑Sun Aug 28, 2022 12:58 pmCrowds from this yesterday. I know some people like seeing this information. I don’t know why Wigan’s is blank?

Estimates as they are rounded figures. From reading comments elsewhere they’re based on most recent sales information, so if a club has said they’ve sold over 500 but with no more information then it’s 500 unless it’s announced differently.

No, as above they’re close estimates to what the actual figure was. Not all clubs give the away figures, or don’t do it consistently.

I see that Crawley had just 113 at Rochdale yesterday so can't see them bringing more than a coachload for our League Cup tie.

Our 4.7k and Portsmouth taking 20% of the gate up to Port Vale are the stand outs. Third place to Grimsby taking 800 to Walsall.
They do seem to be on the rise which is great news.

I thought there was a minimum percentage for away fans. If there is Swanseas’ 300 sell out of a 23.6k Riverside is a very low percentage

Wigans highest home attendance listed as 15429 on another site. I would guess that is yesterday.
Re: EFL Attendances and Away Followings 27/8/22
so just 11,664 home fans down the road!

The Wigan attendance has just been given as 14,506 (4,701 Clarets).
Nowhere near 14,500 there yesterday though. Looked about 10,000 or so?

As above, that was a close estimate to what Swansea took, not their allocation. They can have up to 3,000 at Middlesbrough, but they took 300 ish.Tricky Trevor wrote: ↑Sun Aug 28, 2022 1:28 pmI thought there was a minimum percentage for away fans. Re: EFL Attendances and Away Followings 27/8/22
I've thought for some time that their support is quite poor, even on their good run last season wasn't much better, only slightly. Only living not much more than a stones throw away "although sometimes difficult" I happen to hear quite a lot of talk of what's going on, it seems that they've never recovered in terms of support since the venkys took over, and obviously losing their Premier league status, coupled with big Sam's defensive natured tactics, and sale of player's following relegation.

Re: EFL Attendances and Away Followings 27/8/22
I was looking for the attendance yesterday, and saw somewhere that it was 14,400 or something like that, and I also thought there's no way there was 10,000 home fans, I wouldn't have thought the full attendance was more than around 11/12,000 at the most.
Re: EFL Attendances and Away Followings 27/8/22
Some similiarities with our recent situation which underlines how encouraging, and maybe even surprising, our support has been this season. I will struggle with some midweek games despite having a ST and I appreciate the cost of living is going to bite like a rabid dog. I hope we do everything we reasonably can to keep attendances high this season. Momentum must be our friend.alwaysaclaret wrote: ↑Sun Aug 28, 2022 11:52 pm...it seems that they've never recovered in terms of support since the venkys took over, and obviously losing their Premier league status, coupled with big Sam's defensive natured tactics, and sale of player's following relegation.

Decent effort at Bradford. Credit where it's due.

We took more fans to Wigan, than the entire away support in League 2 (4,222)

Think that was their opening game of the season against PNE.Tricky Trevor wrote: ↑Sun Aug 28, 2022 1:30 pmWigans highest home attendance listed as 15429 on another site. I would guess that is yesterday.

I don't know why Wigan's attendance is blank. Did anyone watch the Championship Highlights on Sky? It advertised Wigan V Burnley with Blackburn Rovers and Stoke Badges above???? Bizarre.

You need to read further up the thread. It wasn’t announced on the day and was only given around lunch time yesterday.
