Sounds like the owner didn’t like him asking for money to spend.

“I would like to place on record my gratitude to Scott and his team for their efforts during their time with us. Our promotion back to the Premier League last season under his tenure will always be remembered as one of the most successful seasons in our history.
“However, in order for us to keep progressing as a team and a Club as a whole, it is unconditional that we are aligned in our strategy to run the club sustainably. We must also show belief in and respect for one another. That is the approach that has brought this club so much success in recent history, and one that we will not veer from now. Our search for a new head coach will begin immediately.”

Beat Villa and Norwich in the cup, lost to Man City, Arsenal and Liverpool. Way to give a bloke a chance!
Surely nobody expected anything more from the last three games than a trio of drubbings?

Hell of a pitch to the next manager is that. In other words, the next manager needs to come in and try she save them from relegation with a squad Parker just said was “ underequipped at this level”.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Tue Aug 30, 2022 8:59 amFrom the owner:

Re: Scott Parker
He's been having a running battle with the owner and board for some time over recruitment and I think his underequipped message at Anfield was perhaps the final straw. Just read that they've spent £24m this summer. That compares well with the £150m spent at Forest.agreenwood wrote: ↑Tue Aug 30, 2022 9:02 amHell of a pitch to the next manager is that. Re: Scott Parker
Madness-you half expect a tonking from the sides like Man City & Liverpool. It shows how level headed our Directors remained when we went through bad spells, and SD will appreciate this when looking for a new opportunity. The decision re Parker will have Gerrard and Rodgers looking over their shoulders. I think Hassenhuttle is the "new Dyche " of the PL

Re: Scott Parker
If a team loses 9-0 is that solely down to the manager or do the players have to take some responsibility for it?
Not wanting to sound all “Roy Keane” but they only received one yellow card in that game, and that was in the first half.
Yes it was Liverpool and 5-0, but you at least go out and try not to lose the second half

Re: Scott Parker
Parker had words with the chairman about the lack of transfer budget earlier in the summer, it now appears that they once again had words after the 9-0 defeat which led to him being sacked.
I would be very surprised if Dyche would take the Bournemouth job even if it was offered to him

Spending in PL this season has been frightening. Half the league might top £100m by Thursday.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Tue Aug 30, 2022 9:07 amHe's been having a running battle with the owner and board for some time over recruitment and I think his underequipped message at Anfield was perhaps the final straw. Makes you wonder how we’d have fared had we stayed up. Don’t think we’ve ever shelled out more than £25-30m in a window and even that was with big sales to fund them.

Re: Scott Parker
Football is such a cut throat business now. Maybe I am a traditionalist but the mega money clubs have actually ruined the EPL for me. I wish they had left to join this European Super league. Some of the BIG clubs can't even compete now in the EPL. The clubs that get promoted to it usually go down again shortly after. Bournemouth being an example.

Hopefully Forest come crushing crashing back down to the Championship this year, then other clubs learn that isn't what you are supposed to do when promoted.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Tue Aug 30, 2022 9:16 amWas looking at some of the figures yesterday, the PL has moved way beyond us now.

Re: Scott Parker
Sadly, I think that is right. Can't compete with massive corporate clubs or those with extremely rich backers. Particularly when FFP rules seem to be a joke. I keep reading that Newcastle say they can't go mad with spending due to FFP so how is it that Forest, a much smaller club, can spend that amount? The whole thing is unsustainable.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Tue Aug 30, 2022 9:16 amWas looking at some of the figures yesterday, the PL has moved way beyond us now.

I can actually see Bournemouth approaching SD. They will want someone who primarily can keep them up, but secondly without spending much

Re: Scott Parker
I know they have a poor squad in terms of PL standard, and their transfer business this summer has been underwhelming.
But even when he spent £100 million at Fulham, he didn't keep them up either.

Re: Scott Parker
Probably Dyche’s best bet at a PL club.
Bourne have been known for playing attractive football in recent times though so that could work against him.

Re: Scott Parker
Crazy to punt the manager 4 games in, if they beat Wolves tomorrow, which they could well do, then they'd be mid-table.
Interesting that Bournemouth's Russian owner is suddenly tightening his belt, wouldn't possibly be related to the Ukraine war would it, and the subsequent crack down on Russian money overseas.

Re: Scott Parker
They stayed up under Howe for 4 seasons playing attractive football. Last season got promoted playing decent football. It’s a myth that you get pasted regularly. All about the coaching and recruitment.
Re: Scott Parker
He's a poor manager. With the squad he had at Fulham in the EPL he should have kept them up, with the squads he had with Fulham and Bournemouth he should have walked the league title but instead limped over the line both times.

He's a manager- he's got to work within the constraints given to him by his boss/financial people at the club. Nothing to be gained by complaining in public about what the constraints are- he needs to have a debate with his boss about that.
Eddie did well enough with them but it may well be that Parker's purse-strings are tighter I guess.
It'll be interesting to see who Cherries go for/get. Looking at the early odds, the bookies have (approx averaged)
SD 2/1
Wilder 6/1
Nathan Jones c 9/1
Followed by J Terry, G O'Neill, Carrick, Terry etc

Re: Scott Parker
No idea what Bournemouth's budget is but looking at their squad I'd be surprised if the wage bill isn't significantly higher than ours was when we were in the Prem. Hardly a shoe string but possibly still well short of what's required to compete. Makes Pace's claimed ambition of European football look a bit fanciful.

Re: Scott Parker
Bournemouth have massive debts - all owed to the owner. The latest set of accounts say that the owner would only ask for the loan to be repaid when the club was able to repay. But, I've read something a few weeks ago that said the owner had now decided that he wants his loan repaying.
Bournemouth have been a regular user of Macquarie to accelerate the money from outgoing transfers. I wonder if the owner has been in touch with MSD about a loan - to be used to repay some of the money the club owes him?
Bit late in the transfer window to be bringing in a new manager/coach.
