Be a worry if we don’t bring in at least one striker as well as a centre half.
The new lad plays this role, we have Twine, Rodriguez and Barnes if we're desperate

don't worry we scored 5 on Saturday and only one out and out striker scored a single goal

It’s relying on the above to stay fit all season that is the worry!

Should be complete, but I'm not holding my breath. Brownhill being sold would be absolutely disastrous on several levels, would have an effect on morale in the dressing room, and an effect I believe on the crowd in terms of size, so imo wouldn't make financial sense. One reason I wouldn't rule it out though, is why is twine still not involved, could it be Brownhill's emergence in what could be looked on as twines position. Just a thought.

Twine has been injured / getting fit. Will undoubtedly be in the match day squad once he’s up to speed.

I think a new cb arriving would present a bit of a conundrum, a Charlie Taylor conundrum - surely can’t be benched in the Championship (for his own quality / experience reasons) but also not sure he’s the ‘type’ of wing back VK wants - see Maatsen / Vitinho for that. Interesting one really.

As I said, just a thought, but I wouldn't completely rule out there's something behind it, until the window shuts and brownhill is still a claret.

New lad today plus Twine, Rodriguez and Barnes makes four forwards how many do you want, they don't all need to be fit at the same time

The club sold a lot of players for various reasons, some because they deserved the chance, some for the money to reinvest in new players.
I doubt AP will see rhe need to sell Brownhill for any reason

Anass Zaroury is 100%, a new CB I've no idea about, that's me wishful thinking for an end to the perfect transfer window

I think Zaroury could be our last signing and that Brownhill will stay. We're in profit from transfers and paid off a chunk of the loan so don't think we're desperate for the money. We have a lot of young versatile players that can play from full back to attacking midfield with plenty of goals in them so might not need any more forwards. It's harder to cover 4-5 players all capable of scorong than one out and out goalscorer

I’d be very surprised and incredibly disappointed if we sold Brownhill.
I’d still like to see a proper striker signed.

Interesting
He’s a very talented player
More of a 10 / centre forward than an outright striker, should fit the bill

Scored 6 goals in 13 appearances for Turkey and spent last season with Galatassary.
Never seen him play, but appears to have a good pedigree.

Agreed. Maybe it's the Brentford kit but he reminds me of Benrahma a bit. Looks quick, tricky and direct. Could be a very good addition.

14 Players!!!
I agree we are over burdened for these positions, but also these types of role usually involve players finding and losing form quite quickly. I'd think Vitinho will be used as a fullback now so that would change to 13
I'd split those 13 into these brackets
Reliable Attacking midfielders - 2
Brownhill
Bastien
Wingers who can change a game (starting or off the bench) -4
Benson
Churlinov
Tella
Zaroury
Dedicated number 9's -2
Jay Rod
Dervişoğlu (presume he's a number 9)
Potentially injury prone? - 2
Twine
JBG
Should only be used sparingly -1
Barnes
Possible to send out on loan? -2
Richardson
Costelloe
So for arguments sake, if we send a couple of the youngsters out and we have a couple of injuries, we'd have a pool of 8 for 4 positions, which is pretty healthy. My only concern is we've signed too many of the same type of player, but the proof will be in the eating on that one after we've seen them play for a while.

Think Twine is a bit unfortunate to be considered as maybe injury prone
22/23 picked up an injury pre season

Yeah I was just thinking he might break down again which can happen with attacking players. Hopefully not!

I get that you don't like the current owners mate, but we are currently in sixth place and have won two games out of six
It is impossible to say now that selling Brownhill will cost us promotion, and you are far too sensible a poster to go down that route!
I don't want him to go, I think he's a cut above this level but he's got two years left on this contract (as Spice says we might have control of that extra year, but he might as well)
He's never going to be worth as much as he is now from a purely financial point of view, and like Fofana and Gordan and Anthony, we can ask (and probably get) far more than he's actually worth
That has to be factored in when you are a club in the championship, whether we like it or not
Yep, I am just saying there are also consequences (and potential financial ones too) to selling him.
Selling Brownhill at this stage in the window would weaken the squad, reduce our chances of promotion, potentially upset the manager and damage the squad's morale.
It would be very short-term thinking and as critical as I am of the club's current owner, I am sure, even he, is well aware of these dangers.

I would also imagine a lot would be down to Brownhill himself. Would he actually want to go? The Prem tempted him away from Bristol to join us...

Another bloody loan. That makes, Maatsen, Bellis, Tella and this lad that are all first teamers?
Kompany said loans would be the last resort, I'm not sure how I feel about 4 of them making up nearly half of the starting 11.

The manager has said all along that he is aware of the financial situation and has bought into it, I feel IF Brownhill was subject to a bid then VK would have the say on whether or not it would benefit the club after sitting down with Alan Pace. The vibe I have got is that the selling and buying of players has been a joint decision between the chairman and manager.
That is my opinion and NOT fact.

Another bloody loan. That makes, Maatsen, Bellis, Tella and this lad that are all first teamers?
Kompany said loans would be the last resort, I'm not sure how I feel about 4 of them making up nearly half of the starting 11.
To be fair we are getting to last resort territory for this last signing. We need someone good enough to make an impact and finding one in the correct price range seems to have been very difficult. With time running out and it being fairly clear Jayrod won't have the fitness for this many competitive games coming thick and fast, we needed to try and get someone in and fast.

New lad today plus Twine, Rodriguez and Barnes makes four forwards how many do you want, they don't all need to be fit at the same time
That's right but equally half of them have a history of being unfit at the same time. But, if you say so then that's fine.

I picked Dervisoglu in my fantasy team. Admittedly he was in the "cheapest option bench-filler" role and have since transferred him out but I'd like to think I'm up there with VK when it comes to spotting a player.

I don't disagree but we have had all window to target and sign players, had more money to spend than most clubs in the division and yet we've still ended up with four first teamers who are loan signings despite our manager stating that they would be the "last resort" kind of deals.
I can't help thinking that a couple of the wide players (of which we are ridiculously well stocked now) should have been loans and we should have used our resources to sign permanent players in other positions.

They’ve already stated that they won’t overpay for players, maybe the targets we desired have been what we consider “too high”, so we have moved on to something more affordable , whilst strengthening other areas for prices that we deem acceptable to move on without too much risk

If the loan signings make the squad stronger and are a decent calibre then why on Earth not?
See Maatsen, THB and Tella
