If nothing else the videos are worth waiting for. Never thought I'd see so many promising young players making up the team with videos like that at Burnley. The new owners aren't all bad
They're dragging us...screaming....into the 21st Century. UTC.

This makes me nervous for Brownhill
They said a week or so ago that we'd been back in for Wiles

Another bloody loan. That makes, Maatsen, Bellis, Tella and this lad that are all first teamers?
Kompany said loans would be the last resort, I'm not sure how I feel about 4 of them making up nearly half of the starting 11.
Having watched all 3 play, I'm very happy about it.

Loans can be very beneficial to the club just as the examples you've used show. I wasn't anywhere suggesting that's not the case was i? I've no gripes with loanee's. I'd have just preferred to see them in positions that provide back up to our permanent players as oppose to 4 of the first names on the teamsheet. I'd say that's a valid point.
If you don't agree then fair enough but all you and claretonthecoast seem to do is misinterpret everyone's posts to try and start arguments for no reason. Sometimes you'd be better off actually reading what someone says.
No, actually I don't do it to start arguments.
The loanees are better than what we've got, which you seem to take issue with.
You be you, let's leave it there because I cannot be arsed.

Thing is I'd want any loans to be paying at least 50%of the games if possible (not in a guaranteed contract way of course).
what's the point of them coming to sit on the bench? In an ideal world they come, have a massive impact on the field, facilitate improvement in the rest of the squad with their skill and encouragement, and most importantly cost us a fraction of a transfer for one years work well done.
If the loaned makes a significant contribution to take us up and costs us say 2 million on fee and wages, that is good business
It depends on whether or not you do end up signing them permanently in my opinion and/or if you go up. If so then I agree, game time is a good thing. As they've either helped the club succeed or become one of our assets.
Generally speaking though I'd much rather game time and the development that comes with it go to the lads that we will develop and sell on (remembering that that's the model we're working towards now). But mostly as I've acknowledged above I would have likely noticed less had Kompany not specifically mentioned it in pre-season. I just found/find it an odd phrase to use when we have ended up with multiple first team players who are loans, but maybe he meant they would be last resorts for a certain calibre of player he wanted. Who knows, I hope it's the scenario in my first paragraph though or our own players development will be stunted a little as a result and given the current model I'm not sure that's somthing we can afford.

The way I read Kompanys statement was if we couldn’t agree a fee and we really wanted the players a loan agreement was the last option. Not sure if that’s right, just the way I read it

How many players have you we signed now? 14? 15?
Only three of those have been loans. We’ve hardly been overly reliant on them.

“Dyche really needs to utilise the loan market, there’s some great talent you can get for cheap.”
“Why is Kompany loaning so many players???”

Brilliant. That means they've dropped their asking price by £2m in just a couple of hours. By the time we hit lunch tomorrow, he'll be in our price bracket.

You stated there would only be two more transfers. The Zaroury guy and a CB. Doesn't seem to be the case, despite you talking from a supposed position of in the know.

Go back and read it, he didn't say that at all. He said he was sure about Zahoury signing then expressed the opinion if we also signed a CB it would be a perfect window.

Zaroury in, like I said
CB not in yet correct, if the transfer window ended tonight at 11 instead of Thursday then that would of been the case of me being wrong but it didn't close tonight and is still ongoing until Thursday so stop making yourself look stupid

There was another one a little later that was then an opinion, like a playing it safe version.

Costelloe could have been seen to have been nudged out by the new signings but came on tonight.
Kompany talked about utilising the squad on Friday with three games in six days, be interesting to see what he does, we do have a blank midweek next week.

I suspect JBG won’t be starting for the third time in seven days after so long out so I’d expect one change at least.

Just watched his post match interview and I think he was hinting at changing it up for Friday. He was asked about Fridays game and he said something along the lines of introducing fresh players.

To me, the language and use of the emoji reads like, if those signings are made then for him, the window is complete. I.e. he doesn’t think we need to sign anyone else.
I don’t know why people are having such a go at him, this board is really tedious at times.

Pierre Dréossi, sporting director at FC Metz is quoted as saying Mikautadze will be staying at le FC Metz this season.
Apparently Metz were annoyed at Burnley because Kouyate had gone AWOL after we showed interest in him. The thread on the Metz forum about Kouyate and Burnley got closed because of all the crap that was posted on there. A lot of it not very polite about Kouyate and his refusal to play.

If Kouyate hadn't played yesterday I'd still be confident of him coming but that suggests he'll probably be staying put, fans are very fickle and as long as Metz keep winning they'll forgive him very quickly.

Cannot believe the transformation in our recruitment policy-the arrivals have come thick and fast. However for me the need for a seasoned and commanding CH is critical, and completes the squad. Last night we had no CH on the bench-not sure why Egan Riley was not there, and not sure the thinking with McNally. The jury is still out with Taylor at CB, and we do look exposed for height at defending corners and set pieces, particularly with the way teams play in this division. If we get this player it will have been a sensational window and re-structure of a team and playing style

I still think we will see a centre back come in - clearly Kompany was very keen on Kouyate but that isn't looking likely if he is now playing again. It doesn't change the fact he wants one and we have already shown a willingness to shift targets.
Are we still after a striker? It's gone quiet on that Turkish lad from Brentford after looking tied on.
